That shit was just so out of nowhere. Like, Goku had some disrespectful moments, but I never would've expected him to straight up punch a man in the face mid-sentence.
Despite everything Goku has achieved after this like Super Saiyan God , Super Saiyan Blue and Ultra Instinct but Goku simply standing in one spot not making a single move while still scaring the shit out of his opponents and making them rethink their life choices is still one of the most coldest and badass things he's done in the whole franchise 🔥💯
About the mind reading thing, I always thought that Goku learned that stuff from King Kai. After he got back from being dead, and when he got bodied by Vegeta, he all of a sudden was talking to Gohan and Krillin via telepathy, and I don’t think he was doing that stuff before then, and King Kai’s able to do that stuff.

His father Bardock foreseen planet Vegeta getting blown up and Bardock rallied the other saiyans to help. Supposedly it was supposed to be cannon but Akira be forgetting shit. Who knows. Supposedly that ability carried over to Goku
Captain Ginyu is one of the most underrated villains in the series. He simply oozes competence in contrast to his goofy suboordinates. Even when straight up overpowered by Goku he wasn't shook and had a plan. TBF he pretty much had the situation handled until that frog nonsense.
The real reason Goku was able to mind read Kuririn's past on Namek was because Akira Toriyama didn't want to have to include panels of where the gang explains everything to Goku. I believe he outright stated this in an interview. It's also why Goku isn't shown to be able to do it later in the series. It was just a short cut to get to the action.

One of my favorite moments in the Kai dub is when Burter and Jeice jump Goku at the end of the fight. Burger’s like “Ha! It’s all you can do just to dodge me! You can’t even fight back!” Goku just gives a cheeky “I wouldn’t be so sure!” Before he makes them hit each other. Sean Schemmel’s delivery is just perfect.
I remember witnessing the horror of the Ginyu force for the first time and thinking " how many people have they done this to ? ". When Goku showed up and Murked recoom it really felt like the team four star version where Goku shows up with the hulk Hogan theme. Tfs really captured the hero vibes.

Goku is a genius when it comes to certain things like training. He doesn't get enough credit. He learned the power of heavy gravity training and had the clever idea to ask Bulma's Dad to replicate it, and make it even more intense to optimize his training time to Namek. That choice right there is the main reason they all succeeded in the end. I like how he carries that over from what he learned ultimately from Roshi in the beginning. You could even say him messing up and accidently setting the gravity to 100X was a big moment too. Would he have been as strong if he wasn't forced to get through 100X gravity?

Goku’s mind reading is something he picked up via his experience from way back with Kami. He never learned it then because he was a child and thought it was ridiculous and a waste of time
Gotta give Jeice credit, he survived two Goku encounters, that's more than most. And then during the Ginyu fight, he and Goku pull a fucking comedy duo skit when Ginyu is having a breakdown. Like, Ginyu is in the water during the breakdown and Goku goes “I think your friend is having a nervous breakdown,” so happily like he WASN'T the one to cause it, meanwhile Jeice goes “He's just cooling off mate, he'll be back.” so casually, forgetting his homie Burter is in the taxi to King Yemma's place. With a line like that, he nailed himself as an all time Ginyu Force Classic.

My take on the mind reading is that, since we've seen this as early as the second arc of OG Dragon Ball with Roshi, maybe it's just one of those things one can learn once they reach a certain level of mastery over their ki, same as how flying was considered a big deal back then too. Actually, what you showed at the beginning of the video, how Goku's ability to sense energy has become so precise he can tell the exact state that the others are in, could've been used to demonstrate how mind reading is an evolution of that. I think it's later on when the series wanted to make us believe things like telepathy and mind reading can only be done by gods and such.

Gotta give Jeice credit, he survived two Goku encounters, that's more than most. And then during the Ginyu fight, he and Goku pull a fucking comedy duo skit when Ginyu is having a breakdown.
Like, Ginyu is in the water during the breakdown and Goku goes “I think your friend is having a nervous breakdown,” so happily like he WASN'T the one to cause it, meanwhile Jeice goes “He's just cooling off mate, he'll be back.” so casually, forgetting his homie Burter is in the taxi to King Yemma's place. With a line like that, he nailed himself as an all time Ginyu Force Classic.

Someone else mentioned it but it probably has to do with King Kai's training, as he was able to speak with Krillin telepathically. Though the mind reading thing still just happens that one time.
I hate that Kai cut the Berter and Jeese ki blast through goku part. That was always my favorite part.

My take on the mind reading is that, since we've seen this as early as the second arc of OG Dragon Ball with Roshi, maybe it's just one of those things one can learn once they reach a certain level of mastery over their ki, same as how flying was considered a big deal back then too. Actually, what you showed at the beginning of the video, how Goku's ability to sense energy has become so precise he can tell the exact state that the others are in, could've been used to demonstrate how mind reading is an evolution of that.
I think it's later on when the series wanted to make us believe things like telepathy and mind reading can only be done by gods and such.
