They’re all great but personally I think Suga is the best rapper in kpop! A lot of fandoms will claim the rappers in their group are the best just because “they rap fast” lmao but he’s the whole package.

I personally think he's not the best rapper in kpop, neither the fastest, although his skills are SO impressive he's definitely one of the best ones! His name surely comes up when I think of the best rappers. I used to think of him as the best too but I'm past that phase now so my opinion has just changed, but he's still my fav rapper in BTS.
Actually in RM's first album rap monster songs like joke etc he did rap faster than suga. But most memorable/famous is suga's part in the cypher.Also whole rapline is great, and almost at a similar level just the different styles.

basically the fourth one doesnt go as hard as the others because it actually was like a goodbye to the haters, its the final cypher meaning that they do not even care anymore about them anymore,, "sorry bae" because they wont respond to them anymore or their critics, they just move on, love themselves and wish those people "health"
I thought it was a very nice change. The pace was changed, their tone, lyrics, the message they tried to give, everything changed for something easier and it felt fresh after three diss tracks.

honestly what we needed. we don't need the 19279283th rap song where we say haters are nothing (while making a song about them) and flexing our wealth. people who don't realize the evolving of the cyphers aren't even worth the time
23:23 throughout the cypher’s they are telling a story. The first 3 cyphers are basically addressing hate they’ve gotten and retaliating. The last cypher is like a conclusion saying “the hate doesn’t bother us anymore”. It’s not as intense bc the last cypher is supposed to sting for awhile rather then 1 punch done.
(This is just my observation tho)
Edit: They also flex their success more in cypher 4.
bts rap line are REAL rappers. RM and Suga were battle rappers, RM was very famous in the underground scene and that's the reason why BTS exists the group was created around him.
You should watch a live version of Cypher 4, it’s definitely got the energy and hype you were looking for. It’s honestly my favorite out of all of them

@@anton_lezama_art while i agree, i also think that’s not a negative factor for me specifically in comparing which cypher is my favorite. the message in part four resonates with me more. their tone and cadence and choice of words throughout is incredibly captivating to me. i find everything about this song, the lyrics, the beat and pacing, the “chorus”, etc. exciting. while i do love the other cyphers because of their own unique sounds, part four appeals more to me sonically than the others. that’s just my preference ☺️☺️ it means a lot to me that makes me feel more excited when i hear it. i finally got to experience just a part of it live during Yoongi’s tour and it felt like a bucket list item got crossed off my lifetime list. i never got to see cypher 4 live, so him adding that to his set list was a dream come true 😭😭😭💜

jhopes rap are more based on this voice tonation which is good for like mocking and the sugas rap notation is based off his shard cut throat words and rm just creates the base for everything to go so I love how they compliment each other very uniquely. They the best rapline in kpop ive never seen a group with a better rapline than bts, NO ONE even comes close

Supreme boi was one of the original in the lineup for BTS in their trainee days, until JK and J-Hope came on and the project changed from hip hop to idol group. He's mostly a producer now if I'm not mistaken.
I wasn't crazy about cypher 4 until I saw a live of it, it's all about the message, the audience goes insane shouting I love myself back at the guys. And yes, they're absolutely talking to specific people, motherbuggers! My favorite is totally cypher 2 😇🔥💜
1:13 K-pop can be broken down into “generations”. Each generations designates a certain time period a group has debuted and attempts to define the genre and culture as k-pop evolves over time. And bts is 3 gen btw amazing videos 🎉❤

Many Kpop idol rappers were idols first, then turned rappers. Which means they were selected to be in the group, then asked to rap. So they don't fully understand hiphop culture and they only do it for the aesthetics. Suga and RM were rappers first at a young age (around 12/13 years old). they were underground rappers before joining BIGHIT and BTS. They are heavily influenced by hip hop and understand the culture behind it. In their autobiography, the other members had said that when they were trainees, the dorm was like a rapping boot camp. The rapline (which included J-hope) kept making the other members listen to songs and they had rap battles to hone their skills. The other members had mentioned at first it was annoying, but they really appreciate the rap line for making them listen to all that music because it really helped them discover new genres and shape their own musical identity.
These cyphers were from their earlier years so you can see the progression. The first 3 is more straightforward diss tracks. The last one, although not as hard hitting, but is more creative and lyrical in it's way of being a diss track. so yes there's no fast rapping and seems less hard hitting, but i would argue it's even more savage because it disses their haters while sounding polite. I grew up on 90s hard core rap, so i like the hard hitting stuff. But BTS has shown me that good rap isn't always just hard hitting. There's lyrics, word play, rhythm, cadences, beat switches, etc.
Suga: Raps straight forward. he tells you how it is. His lyrics are raw.
RM: is more philosophical. He'll hide his disses in his wordplay. He was a poet before becoming a rapper.
J-Hope: has a very interesting cadence. I didn't see it at first, but i totally see it now. his flows are crazy
The fandom says that Suga raps with his soul. RM raps with his brain. And J-Hope raps with his body.

BTS have the best rap line because bts was created as a hiphop base group, also the rappers before even joining the group they started as underground rappers for RM ans Suga, Jhope used to be part of hiphop crew dance team , he is full of hiphop culture. So definely nothing like any other kpop group.

The cyphers are just a tease of why BTS has the best rapline,to really understand why they are the best u have to listen their solo projects a lot of ppl like Suga and think he is the best and I love suga and think has the most emotion and passion when rapping but in my opinion RM is the best in term of being the embodiment of RAP itself from his voice to his wordplay,flow and cadence, his the first mixtape "RM" is still my favorite album by him, most kpop stan don't really know what Good rap is they just like rap as long as it is fast and fast rap sounds great but doesn't mean ur a good rapper.

Up! But PLEASE don't react to the live version before watching the lyric video. Their live performances are top notch, but to actually listen how well built the music is, I would REALLY recommend listening to the studio version, and since yall listen with headphones, even better! Eespecially Tear and Ugh. There are just some things you need to catch that you won't be able to while watching them perform it. Please react to the lyrics or just audio first and then the live versions. Their lives are extremely good.

Hating gets old seriously, especially when it's these same people hating on them for years, the boys just got to the point where their like "i'll mildly hand you your ass but i'm not mad at you anymore, my career is successful and yours isn't and you're mad at me because of that when i have no control over any of that. Cypher pt. 4 is my fave and the reason why it isn’t as intense as the other 3 before it is because it’s more of a conclusion- a farewell to the haters. They’re no longer pissed or bothered by the hate. Like what RM said in his verse, “I like hate comments more than no comment. I don’t know you but you know my name.” They’re successful now. They don’t care about the haters anymore.

The first 3 cyphers were made during their hard times dealing with haters, I mean they were practically fighting for their life 💀 but the last one is more chill because now that they are making their way up the ladder to success the haters cant really say anything. Suga has great cadence and enunciation, and he raps about something very personal. Jhopes rhythm and melodies are crazy. And no one beats RMs lyrical prowess. We have to listen several times to catch every angle, because there are so many sides to his storytelling. 😂

Third gen was something special! If you want to look up more third generation rappers, I’d suggest Jooheon and IM from Monsta X, maybe some Zico from Block B, Bobby from Ikon 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 I’m sure there’s a bunch more from third gen.

Jimin was trained as a dancer (contemporary dance) and his singing voice is amazing. They tried to make him rap at the start but I am glad he managed to get out of that since his singing voice is amazing.

The Cyphrers were about the rappers in S. Korea, the underground, or independent(not sure how the rap scene is over there) rappers that kept talking trash about them for being in BTS, an idol group. The 4th was about being more mature and not getting anymore into those arguments.. That's what "I love myself" was for.
These were made throughout the years, and by the time the 4th one came out Bts had moved on, up, so no more anger..

Some (not all but some) kpop groups don’t really know hip hop- BTS KNOWS hip hop. Even more than some American rappers. They know the history, the giants in hip hop, the not so giants in hip-hop, etc. They breathed and ate hip hop so much. They even got a history lesson from Warren G himself in the show Hip Hop life was it? Can’t remember the exact title. Some Army’s don’t like it but I don’t mind. They seemed to learn and gain so much through that experience that they wouldn’t of otherwise. I love all the rappers- they all have different styles so I can’t pick a favorite but RM is my bias and Suga and Jhope are my wreckers so kinda shows you what I love. Lol
