honestly it doesn’t really have anything to do with that. it’s the fact that the jokes are funny and make sense when said in korean. with english translations and english vocabulary, the jokes don’t make sense since english and korean are obviously two very different languages. it doesn’t matter that they are new to bts, they would get the jokes if they spoke the language.

@@KennyandKyiefor funny compilation videos like this, the channel Sugarmyy is reliable. They make amazing videos with good edits and include context for what is happening. It’s the only channel I recommend anyone watch for compilation videos.
Know the personality of each will make a huge difference. Understanding the culture of oldest and youngest and who the main singers, dancers and rappers are. Have fun getting to know these guys 😊
Jin's joke maybe dry af but his laughter gets me every time
Don’t fret over Jin’s “Dad” jokes because only Koreans know the meaning and can’t justifiably be translated. In order to know who they are and recognize their faces and names I suggest you watch a guide to BTS: Bangtan 7 by Taylor Mari. It’s about 45 minutes long but the time will go by very quickly. Armies love reactors watching this guide as well as other guides and documentaries on BTS. Believe it or not we live ling contents. To avoid copyright penalties you can directly ask permission from Taylor Nakamoto. She will respond fairly quickly. There is also another excellent guide by the Rice Squad that was updated in 2022 but the title says 2023.
FYI, many of the BTS songs are related to others song and the era of the albums. Also many of their song have very deep meanings that are hard to understand as they use art, literature, psychological theories, profound thoughts and quotes, etc. that has meaning and impact on them. There are a lot of explanation videos to some songs that have been extremely helpful for me to understand the n meaning behind the words as well as scenes in the mvs, cultural references and so on.
all these episodes are of their own variety show called RUN BTS , there more 100 episodes and freaking amazing and if you to have a great laugh must watch it. I love them so much. You can also watch thier guide to know thier names and behid the scenes and how this group formed.
guys one thing you should also know is that there ARE funny videos u can watch despite not having a lot of info on bts. a lot of videos like this one don’t give a lot of context but a reliable channel like “SugaArmyy” will compile funny moments while also explaining what’s happening so you can understand without actually having to watch a whole run bts (their variety show) episode or other type of content. however, i do recommend doing a guide first tho.

Once you get to know them and their personalities, SO much more will make sense and they are truly comedy gold. Start at the beginning. I also recommend watching the video of the hardships of BTS - Knowing their whole story makes you appreciate SO MUCH MORE about them and why their joy and goofiness is so amazing. For the cow dad joke, he said "단체 소송일세" which directly translates to a "group lawsuit" basically, but if you separate the words that make up the phrase, you can get "단체," "소송," and "일세." 일세 doesn't really matter in the context of the joke, but "단체" means "as a group," and the "소" in "소송" is the Korean word for cow, while 송 is pronounced similarly to "song." So it's basically a joke using Korean and English inserting the phrase "cow song" into the more common term "group lawsuit" to give it the double meaning of "group cow song." Hopefully that's an understandable explanation 😅

You definitely need to watch a guide before you get into anything else. Learn their names, watch some more MV’s and listen to more songs and you’ll get a better grasp on their personalities and music taste. Then the compilations will be funnier and make more sense. There’s also a storyline that runs through a lot of their MV’s so if you don’t get something it’s part of the storyline.
I would also suggest to start from the beginning of their music and progressing forward. You’ll get to see the growth and what they stand for as a group. Check out all of the members solo work. You won’t be disappointed.

Yeeeeah any plays on words (which is what most dad jokes are) won’t make sense in another language. But otherwise this is one of the better compilations of funny moments.
Yall should just straight up watch Run BTS instead of compilations since yall are new.
There are about 150 main episodes and extra special episodes... the special episodes are awesome to start with if you are new cus its the latest and you can see how they look like now as adults.
But first though, learn their names through some guide.

Plz don't watch compilation vids for a while, they're pretty impossible for newbies to understand. And usually edited very chaotically and don't give great context. Watch the Guide to the BTS Members by Taylor Mari.
And also the docu-series Rise of Bangtan that documents their journey in chronological order. It's fan-made by a professional editor, so it's Netflix quality. There's a lot of funny and entertaining clips in the deleted and bonus scenes that every chapter of Rise of Bangtan has. And those are edited nicely with context given, so you won't be confused.
You can go through their music in chronological order alongside the docu-series, the first chapter covers their pre-debut time up to the release of their first music video No More Dream. So you can check out the music video first, then watch the first chapter of Rise of Bangtan.

I’m not korean, but i started noticing that alot of the dad jokes jin makes are a play on words in korean. It’s the same as us who speak english make jokes as well, kinda like knock knock jokes or those jokes when you ask, “what do you call a (blank) and/with a /that is/etc…(blank)?”…like those jokes you see on the laffy taffy wrappers. Lol.

Many of the clips were only funny if you already know the guys and/or full video where these are form.
Some of them are situations where person acts out of his normal character - like Suga ready to square with that zombie - he's not a scaredy cat like Hobi or Jin, but usually he's lazy/sleepy/tired/ and always very calm - but also he is one of the members who are one who keeps the kids in line (he's second oldest, after Jin). Also Suga is the one who has the role - as a gifted battle rapper - as the one who will put the media in their place if they try get nasty.)
The jokes are actually okay on words in Korean so we as English speakers or anyone who doesn't know korean won't understand

Thank you for your interest in our precious BTS… definitely get to know them to understand compilations like this… there are several YT channels that have Intro to BTS and similar… the one you already posted (after this one) is highly recommended… I want to recommend xCeleste channel,.. altho also outdated, is well done and gives more details…and if you would appreciate a deep dive, The Rise of Bangtan series is extremely well documented… believe me, ARMY will watch. Why would you watch a Try Not to Laugh challenge so early? 1. They're Korean so there's obviously going to be a language barrier and culturally relevant jokes that you won't get. 2. There will be tons of inside jokes that will only be funny if you've been part of the fandom for a while and you know BTS and their personalities. And 3. A lot of compilations choose clips that don't actually show how truly funny these guys are, this one being one of them.
If you really wanted to react to things outside their music, you'd be better off reacting to some of their interviews or funny interview compilations, since they're naturally charismatic and hilarious.
Please watch the BTS Guide first 💜✨ so you can have a better understanding 😊 also for the funny videos I recommend sugarmy channel ✌🏽🇻🇪💜

Try to eep in mind that they are Korean and some things they reference are cultural, and as an American we probably will not understand it. 😊Most of the clips in this video are from a show called Run BTS!. It's BTS own variety show, where they play games, and do challenges. The show can be found on their YT channel BANGTANTV. Here is a playlist of the 157 episodes. It helped me with learning who is who and things about the group.

Actually...it's one of the least funny compilations of bts that I've ever seen...you for sure chose the wrong one🥲🥲The editing and cuting the moments are silly and they chose not the funniest parts of reqlly funny moments...so, don't worry, because me being an army for 4 years, I didn't laugh that much watching this compilation with u, because it's really not the best compilation to laugh at not knowing bts really good

As newbies it would be gest to get more exposure to their songs. Once you feel like hey I want to know more about them do the Taylor video. Then you might be interested to explore more of tgeirvnusic. Only then if you feel more inclined to know more do the rise of bangtan chapters . You can also start watching the compilation as suggested. If not you really don't understand the members or appreciate the guys enough to appreciate them and why the actions or jokes are funny. If not you are disconnected or not invested in what you are reacting to. Its good that you're trying to get into BTS though but there's a lot to understand about BTS. Know their music and what they stand for as artist.
