Bit of rain early on makes no difference. In fact, years ago when farmers hadn’t as accurate forecast, farmers used to cut hay when rain was forecast in the hope that it would be dry afterwards. It worked too
Fingers cross Gerry 🤞 least you have options between silage, haylage or hay that takes the pressure off. I keep looking at the forecast, then feeling how wet the ground is 😬🤦♂
Grass just didn't want to grow so far. Tis the same the country over whether you are big or small fry., a "good" or a "bad" farmer. Buttercups on the other hand had a field day. Tis great if you have a lawn to cut, not so great if have livestock!!
Hi gerry, good to see you getting the grass down on the ground. Could you please tell me when the weatherman was ever right, youse your own judgements not listen to them clowns
True. I use a few different apps and look at weather patterns as well and try judge it. It can still change though. As you say. You have kinda judge it and go for it when it looks kinda right. Hope for the best 😂
Great video Gerry. Enjoyed watching. 👍🏼👍🏼
Clean carina in the bachground
Good luck with it Gerry!
Thanks Matthew
Nice to see you are getting the grass up.
Hard to beat
I’ve mowed stuff today plan to leave it sit until Saturday. Been done before and we’ve had no issues with the best of hay.

Bail it up as soon as possible as silage and the rain Friday will get hitting the ground and grass will fly up afterwards 👍👍
