The monks have a real source of blessing to the church and the world. I was there over twenty-five years ago as a vocationer and it was an incredible experience. The summer vocation program will change one permanently.

I live just a few minutes from St. Gregory's Abby . It's an incredible place to be . The woodland and interior of the Abby is a spiritual experience from the time you enter there. I receive their newsletter faithfully and am so grateful for that . I couldn't encourage people enough to visit there ! . . It's a physical , mental and most of all a spiritual blessing to all who enter there ! May God Bless them all ! . . ✝️🌹

In hindsight, ... if only I had the grace and courage back then ....!

Does this mean that the brothers are not ordained ? Would they be ordained in the Catholic Church?

Some are ordained, others not. And since they are Episcopalians, ordination in the Catholic Church is not in the picture.

Why isn't their prayers answered? Why still so much evil?

Because of the gift of free will. You are free to perform good, but just as well you are free to commit evil. Monks pray for help to find solutions to the ones in need, not for God himself to come down to remove all suffering. If God did that we would be no more than an ant colony, living by the mercy alone of whomever was above us. No purpose because there's a being saying "No" to anything you do.
I am torn on the existence of God. I want there to a divine being, but I find it difficult to lean on that idea alone. Because of that doubt it is difficult to find solace in the thought as well and death of loved ones always feels like the last time you will have ever seen or heard them. Hope is difficult to find.
However with that said I still prefer the doubt over the idea of being an "ant" in a colony where we have no thoughts of our own. Evil exists, and is permitted to exist, for this reason alone.

Hmm, odd given that the episcopal community is schismatic. This surely corrupts Benedict's intention for monastic life, regardless of how well meaning the religious community may be.

why don't you have a conversation with Benedictines themselves about that? Anglican and Roman Benedictines meet together regularly to share their experiences and their learning. Their perspective is that they're Benedictines first, Romans and Anglicans second. I don't think that you hear much talk about schism at such times. As to whether or not it "corrupts Benedict's intention for monastic life," I don't see how you extrapolate that from the Rule, which is a technique for surrendering to Christ. It's silent on the other stuff you mention or imply.
