Cohh just keeps getting closer and closer to the Technomancers of Alpha Centauri with every game he plays. Please be careful Cohh, you've angered them.
Came here for this comment 🤌 (techno-necromancers*)
My friends kept telling me to play American Truck Simulator but I'm glad I waited for this. This is the trucking game I've always wanted.
Yeah it works kinda like this in American Truck Simulator... think of it as advancing your reputation to be able to handle more challenging loads. A manufacturer isn't going to let you carry something hazardous, or give you a job with strict time constraints, when you just start out. Instead of "Skills" think "Licenses" I guess.
It's apparently a different developer and publisher, according to Steam, but I would swear that this was made by the same people who made Hardspace: Shipbreaker. Feels like the same universe. I had the same problems with the controls that Cohh was talking about in HS too.
I liked this demo a lot. And this is sort of how I like to play the X games, even though they are more about building a trade empire. But I just prefer to get a single freighter and do trade runs all day while listening to music and sipping tea. Feels so relaxing. I've played Rebel Galaxy the same way too and am always looking for games that let me be a space trader in a satisfying way. I had high hopes that Starfield could've done that, but sadly...
Only thing I am not that into is that the freighters just straight up look like oversized trucks. I usually love the different designs for spaceships the teams come up with. On the other hand, I love how it controls, feels really huge, heavy and lumbering.
Thanks for the game suggestions. I’ll take a look at both the X series and Rebel Galaxy later see if either of them peak my interest like this game did.
Reminds me of a book i read many many years ago called Paradox Alley. Really good sci fi read.
Star Rigger, Paradox Alley, and Red Limit Freeway... Good books.
Less than 5 mins in and I am hooked! Thanks CoH!
Cohh in space: "which way is up"
in a airplane you lift the stick back to climb and forward to fall. So yes they would invert the controls to be normal.
This is a game though, and 5 decades of flight sims have done it the opposite way.
@@asmosisyup2557 All Ace Combat games and MS Flight Sim have inverted controls by default as far as I remember. That's how aircraft work. In fact, when playing space games (No Man's Sky, Starfield, etc.), I invert them because it feels uncomfortable to me.
Same with the skill tree, Euro Truck and American Truck work the same.
The more jobs you complete, the more exp points you get and you use exp points to unlock fragile cargo, dangerous materials, long distance deliveries, etc.
I mean, it's like real life, who would give you a long distance flammable cargo job if you have one 2 km metal scrap delivery in your history?
Hope the family is getting better Cohh!
30:34 I call BS by the time space trucking is a thing there will be several more zeros to that number
Well "up goes up" IS inverted compared to the first joystick standard based on how you tilt the camera (up = tilt down by moving back of camera up). Now the old normal is "inverted".
Has Cohh played the corresponding board game "Galaxy Trucker"?
Reminds me of Dennis Hopper Movie and its Square Pigs
I appreciate the NIN intro 👌
bro if we lived 100 years in the future id 100% be a space trucker
I love the Yoda on the hood!
We're space truckin' !
Cowboy Bebop. 😎
This would be amazing in VR
Dibs on jack burton call sign 😂
Usual not the type to play trucker games but this one did peak and hold my interest.
The controls were okay once you learned them. My only real complaint was a I kept getting lost due to lack of a map or ability to set waypoints in the world.
I did like the flying around part, needs cruise control, and the picking up / dropping off part was cool.
The trucks definitely felt heavy and lumbering though I do wish the main view port was a bit more open.
Yeah that skill tree is the same as American and Europe truck sim.
And it works. I mean, who would give you a dangerous long distance cargo delivery if it's your second gig? You get experience and unlock more challenging gigs.
Love the concept of the game but wind screen visibility cd have been better. The cockpit seems like its gettin in the way for no reason.
I mean, there's not much out there to see or react to so the "HUD" is there to take up some of that empty space.
Maybe this isn't the game for you.
Can you play this game on ps5 to 😊😎
Trucker Car'sson?
Dude done gone and turned off the gawddang radio... One viewer less I guess...
This game is just weird
The game was realy bad.
