behold the 1st AAAA game according to ubisoft.. lol
during the beta 23:05 i was wanting an option to duel, slap or respond in any way to that npc.. nope as a full pirate captain all you can do is take any and all insults.
It’s got graphics, it’s got walking (sometimes), it’s got animated water, it’s got sounds. This is definitely a quadruple a game 👍👍👍
Yeah.... just like Sea of Thieves.... or that older Pirate Game in the assassins creed series... theyre all AAAA then.
jokes aside the game is great
The lockpick harvesting thing is a mess. Maybe it's better on PC, but on console (PS5) the delay on that was insane. It was a solid second behind me pressing R2. I thought it might just be my old man reflexes, but my sons were having the same issues.
Can't wait for the inevitable "Why Skull and Bones failed" Videos about a year from now.

When progress transfers that means this is a preview, not a beta. They have no plan to make any sustantive changes.
It's an early build.
So this is what they're doing... It is essentially a preview, yes, but it's an early build of the game. Some features aren't working at all and are locked off. Same for some of the shop.
That's what they mean by changes. At launch it'll be the final version that's already finished.

No, beta means earlier build. Full release is 1.0 a difference many who've played Minecraft understand well.

@@DeadlyTinyOrc Alpha is a testing phase where enough of the frame is in that testers can play and look for major bugs like holes in the world, and invisible walls. Beta is a testing phase where testers can dig deeper into quests and character builds to find unintended interactions (overtuned powers, invincibilities, powers that cancel each other out or flat dont work).
This is a preview, not a beta. If they found a power combo that made a player invincible, they could not carry progression. You would have invincible players. They are just showing off the game and hoping for orders/pre-orders.
At the rate ships destroyed in this game I’m surprised we have any trees still alive in modern times
Is this really what most people want when they think about an age of sails ship battle game? Personally I don't want an action game that is basically a moving turret battle. I want a slow moving tactical game where you have to account for wind, distance and positioning.

Yeah, that is an extreme immersion breaker for me. Makes no sense.

I, too, am confused as to what era you're in. Those ships are moving a lot more like speedboats than sailing ships. Does the wind direction even matter?

Ubisoft released Black Flag over a decade ago and they're still struggling to release a pirate game? Also, how is it the guys on enemy ships have megaphones?

the people with the skills and talent that made Black Flag or any great game really from the past is long gone from Ubisoft and the other major AAA companies.

I'm just shocked because they had the bones for a great pirate game... all they had to do was add some meat to it and we all could've eaten well on a really fun, swashbuckling game.

?? I thought Cohh says he generally only does sponsored streams for games he 1) is interested in, 2) excited for, and/or 3) was already going to play. I don't believe I have ever seen this game fall into any of those categories during the last couple/few years since the game play videos and especially since he played the previous demo. Along with the fact that Cohh, JP, and Zeke always seem to make fun of/make jokes about this game every time it is brought up during Dropped Frames.
Did he make any mention during the Twitch stream of why he decided to take this sponsored play?

I'm just pointing out that Cohh has said for years he doesn't take sponsored streams just because the money is there, he has to 1) be interested in it, 2) be excited for it, and/or 3) was already going to play it. And all signs over the past couple of years show that this game doesn't fall into any of those categories.

@solmyr14 I think the point is he is interested in the game. He loved black flag, he wants this game to be good, he's going check it out himself to be sure if it's for him or not and then he might as well take a sponsor since his playing it anyway
@@zeneage That's why I asked if he mention on the stream why he took it. Up until today, there hasn't been any indication of interest. In fact, the Dropped Frames crew spoke about S&B for about 5-6 minutes 3 weeks ago in episode 375 (starts around the 46.5 minute mark) and Cohh said it was "meh", wished the devs the best of luck on release, and was DONE (his emphasis) after playing it the couple/few hours last time.

There's just no soul in the game at all. It's telling when they are letting you keep the beta progress. Game will be unsupported in 3-6 months time.
gameplay seems insanely repetitive which probably translates to "barely any content"
seasons seem same shit like Division has - recycled existing content with a few minimal twists
it's an arcade game that should be 30$ max

Sinking animations looks terrible, suddenly ships weight 3 million tons and just disappear… Even Sea of Thieves is more realistic.

Ubisoft wanted me to test this game in the CBT, i told them to f*ck off as I'm not interested in playing garbage, if you want to play a REAL pirate simulator, with the best ship mechanics etc, Play Assassin's Creed Black Flag!
The game is sooo boring, beta is not doing itself any favors! Think it needs another 10 years more development time.

They just needed to remove the assasinations from assasin black flag and add some story to it.. could have kept the same assets like come on
I was watching a friend play the open beta...
This is an overpriced mobile game.
Loading screens everywhere, cheap UI design, shallow writing, arcady af, minigames(??!), disembark areas look like they got slapped on last minute... Just try crafting something and look at the horror that is the cheap animation that looks like something made for a gatcha game. Hardpass.

This looks very assassins creed to me.
Exept you cannot leave your ship and explore. There's no boarding. No hand-to-hand combat. No story. You know - assassin things. Or pitare for that matter.
All the data transfer until Ubisoft close the game so you own nothing
