I just for them TODAY, and I’m about to compare them to my AirPods that I’ve had for like 3+ years. It took me a second to figure out how to put it in my ear but they are nice. I’m a music addict and I love Sony, I got the headphones extra bass and it’s good. I bought these specifically for the plane im getting on. Thank you for this video! I learned a lot!!
Thank you for your excellent review!!! Just got a pair from my kids for Xmas. One think that you didn't mention is the pair them with the plane's inflight entertainment system. Which plug in but tooth transmitter do you suggest? Thanks, James
This is a bluetooth adapter I use: amzn.to/3GCWbfX. Pair it to your XM4s before you get on a plane. You'll need to follow the steps in the directions for pairing mode on the adapter, and manually pair the XM4s to it. I plugged it in to a PS4 and used the XM4s for a late night gaming session! Thanks for watching.
I've had the XM4s for a few months now. I love them. They have been brilliant earbuds. One correction though. Apple was NOT the first to put ANC on earbuds. That was Sony with the XM3s. Sony made everyone follow them with ANC on earbuds.
@@TechTravelBeyond I had the XM3s before. I used them for about two and a half years. They were good overall. Especially it's Sony's app that is fantastic imho. The fact that you can play around with and adjust the sound signature to exactly what you want/like is something that makes them better than Apple Airpods. Yes....the XM3s were too big, and tbe case was a bit bulky. But to SONY'S credit they not only kept everything that was great about the XM3s but literally addressed every single point and improved them with the XM4s.
@@TechTravelBeyond thanks for your reply. well i thought about buying a bt transmitter that fit’s into the two pin connector. So maybe you have tried that to watch movies on the plane but i guess i will have to find out myself haha.
@@LLS.R Let me know how it works! I know you’d have to buy a transmitter that plugs into the system output, but haven’t had the spare cash to buy one for just a test. Thanks watching!
Love the packaging since we have recycling here. I recycle more and tech packaging is usually 3-4 times the amount necessary. Especially the non-recyclable plastics. Thanks for watching!
@@TechTravelBeyond Well i am all for the minimal packaging but i still think the box is too big with filled with unecessary papers. This box i would not keep...but what to do with the extra eartips
@@JoeGillian0 I put them in a ziplock and into a plastic container with other audio/electronics parts. If I end up passing it on, there are new unused parts to give too. Just gave away a bunch of old stuff that way to a thrift shop.
The comfort is pretty good for me. I used it on a 3 1/2 hour flight and it was like normal earbuds where you adjust them every now and then. I was also on the PlayStation for a few hours yesterday and it was great too. You just have to see which eartip works well with your ear canal. Also some reviewers have said they may not work for smaller ears but not in my case. Thanks for watching and joining the channel!
The fit was great because you can try different ear tips, and it was comfortable. I had to wear a mask on the plane and thought the right earbud was hurting me, but it was because the mask was pulling my ear forward. Once the tips are in and fill your ear opening I forgot they were in, even in Ambient mode. Thanks for watching, and I'm working on those habits into life daily!
@@TechTravelBeyond Thanks for the reply! That's good news. Mine will be coming in in about a week. Subscribed! Goodluck on your TH-cam journey. Apply some atomic habits to that journey; make things easy, obvious, attractive
Are you getting new noise cancelling earbuds? Do you have them? Let me know your experiences.
That was such a helpful review, thank you!
Thanks for watching!

They work well for me, and I love you can hear ambient sound around you when you need to. Enjoy your trip!
Great review bud. Very nicely done. Surprise you only have just a little over 1k subs. Thanks
Wow, Thank you for such a nice comment! I'm a new creator here on TH-cam, and just building my audience. Thanks for watching, and stay tuned for more!
Nice one Chuckie.

Cool. Thanks for sharing that! Almost got the XM3s but they looked big and weren’t IPX4.

Did you connect them to the Multimedia interface in the plane by bluetooth or bluetooth module? Is there any latency?
I have not. Most of the planes I work or have been on have 3.5mm jacks and no wireless/Bluetooth built into their IFE systems.

Have alreay the Xm3 so not sure i will upgrade or sidegrade yet
I was holding out on the XM3s since I workout with earbuds, and since these are water resistant and have ambient noise control, XM4s work for me!
@@TechTravelBeyond you did righ choosing to wait, those XM4 seems like the full package.
How's the fit and comfort? Also, nice book - Atomic Habits!

There is a humming noise on the audio of this video, the video needs ANC
It was a mic cable that I have changed since this video! Thanks for watching!
