Really cool to see the visualization of the process! I knew how the process worked, but I never pictured it taking that many rounds of eliminating the last place position to hit +50%. Thanks for doing this!
Guys, if we want to support Ryan doing this with our votes for the years to come, I think we should assemble ourselves as an...um, academy? The...Academy of Oscar Science? With Ryan as our President / CEO / Benevolent Dictator / Emperor of the Known Universe?😁
I love how my top 3 picks (Anatomy of a Fall, Poor Things and Oppenheimer, in that order) were the 3 finalists in the experiment. Just goes to show how good those 3 were. Looking forward to what happens tonight
And those were the films with much passion in Oscar night. The clear number one was Oppenheimer. Then Poor Things. Then Anatomy with the screenplay win.
A Brazilian channel I'm a big fan of, called Dalenogare, held an award show on his channel with votes from members, and used the preferential method to award the best film. The scenario was quite similar to that of your video; Oppenheimer was the most voted in the first round but didn't win, but in the redistribution ended up winning in the last round against Poor Things. I think this is similar to what might happen at the Oscars. Great video, hope to see more in the coming years.
How long has it been since the best picture winner (it's gonna be Oppenheimer and a massive box office hit) aligned with the popular vote from the audience? I think since "The Lord of the rings" 😮
That’s correct! The last movie to make more money than “Oppenheimer” was “Return of the King”! The movie that made the most money between those two years was “The King’s Speech” at $430 million.
Omg, I just watched the part where The Zone of Interest gets eliminated. I've been separated from my soulmate. They went to Oppenheimer and I went to Poor Things. I'm scared we'll never reunite. This is heartbreaking
I sadly forgot to participate in the original event. If I had submitted my ballot, it would have been: 1. Killers Of The Flower Moon 2. Oppenheimer 3. The Holdovers 4. Anatomy Of A Fall 5. Maestro 6. Past Lives 7. American Fiction 8. The Zone Of Interest 9. Poor Things 10. Barbie
Shout out to my fellow American Fiction > Killers voter! This was awesome. Seeing Past Lives hang around that long was refreshing after all the Anatomy and Zone discourse I've been seeing. Surprised that Poor Things ended up second. Thanks, Ryan!
Ryan I enjoy your videos and your attitude and your presence in them. I'm sorry if I refered to you as cute in an earlier video. Especially since I found out you have a girlfriend. Even so that still doesn't change that you are cute. LOL! This is all in a good fun joshing.
This is what I would’ve voted for 1. Oppenheimer 2. Past Lives 3. The Holdovers 4. Zone of Interest 5. Anatomy of a Fall 6. Killers of the Flower Moon 7. Barbie 8. Poor Things 9. Maestro American Fiction (N/A)
I am very happy your best actress prediction became failed. Emma won🥰🥰🥰😘😘❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for voting everyone! I have to say...I'm pretty impressed by these results. I mean, Past Lives!!! Academy, take notes!
i'm confused. by the thumb and this comment i was so ready to see Past Lives winning but it went to Oppenheimer. Good video anyways! Thanks
Retrospective Best Picture Voting for past Oscars would be awesome, especially years like 2017 that has a lot of great and popular films nominated
Definitely need to do this again next year!
Alrighty then. Will do! I'll try to do it a little earlier next time.
You've got to hand it to Ryan! I honestly can't think of another TH-camr that would go through this much trouble just for their subscribers!
So you’ve cracked the code possibly! Can’t wait to see how it “stacks” next year! 🎉
YES DO IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR!

I'll check out Dalenogare. Reading this comment now and Oppenheimer dominating followed by Poor Things seems to have been exactly accurate. Cheers!
Alright!!
Thanks for posting this! I can’t wait for the Oscars!!
Glad to see my top 2 are in the final round here and they also got the most nominations in reality! 👍
You're hilarious. Thanks for doing this. :)
This was a lot of fun, def would love to see it again next year
This was such a great idea!!! Thank you!!
I’m very happy I got to stay on team Poor Things until the very end. Oppenheimer was my 2nd choice anyways, and I always knew it was winning.

loved that!! Next year again!
Thanks Ryan, that was fun, and my Poor Things did well.
Both in this experiment and at the Oscars! Cheers Jimmy!
I'm one of the two people who put Barbie at number 1 and The Zone of Interest at number 2. Where's that soulmate of mine? Lmao
Omg, I just watched the part where The Zone of Interest gets eliminated. I've been separated from my soulmate. They went to Oppenheimer and I went to Poor Things. I'm scared we'll never reunite. This is heartbreaking

Yay for my top 4 films being in the top-4. My fav was Past Lives, followed by Oppy, Poor Things, and Anatomy of a Fall. I love these ballots.

My top movie and my bottom movie made the final two 😂
