"You can control it anywhere in the world." Man. I can't see how that would ever be abused. Surely hackers are always good people and won't hack your robot to destroy the house, your things and/or the people there.
The best hackers land government jobs and are ceos of major tech companies nobodies out to get you if somebody wants to destroy your home and bill your loved ones they would just do it no robot needed
I find these things so fascinating because people can already hack into home security systems, why would we give them a pair of hands to do actual harm with
Im thinking more along the lines of people in third world countries remotely cleaning your house and getting paid 50 cents per day while they pass it off as "revolutionary AI"
Yeah, this is nuts, why would they give it network connectivity? I'm already at the point where I'm jailbreaking my phone and ripping the antenna out of my car so a software problem can't screw me over in a really damaging way. WHY give anyone from anywhere, with the ability to break the encryption at least, the ability to do anything in my house. Open the door to a thief? Be used by law enforcement to plant evidence? Turn on the gas? Damm, this is sketch. I might be cool with the idea if it didn't have constant connectivity. Maybe if it needed to be plugged in for updates or something, but even then... No, I don't think so, I'll keep doing my own laundry thanks. @crisisakagod My dude, some hackers don't work for the gov or whatever, that's why the term script kiddies exists. Notice how they keep making them look humanoid to prove they’re “the newest and greatest” when in reality the most useful robot for the house would be a box with 8 arms and 2 thumbs on every hand
I honestly feel something like the AI assistant in the film _Moon_ is probably the best. Sort of mounted on a rail in the ceiling, goes wherever it needs to, can cook with all its arms, etc. Probably better integrated with the house. Most arguments for strictly humanoid robots I see is the idea that because environments are ergonomically designed for humans, a robot would easier interact with things if it has a vaguely human shape.
Yea, the human form is way overrated. So much of the energy/hardware/calculation is spent just for it to stay upright when it could be so much more versatile and effective if the form wasn't a limiting factor. Then again, as Charlie said, this is possibly one of the least menacing robots one can imagine.
There is no way that these things won't be stealing your data, and I don't even mean like the kind of groceries or clothes you like to buy, you'll be walking into your room one day and catch one of these robots reading your diary

So something about the robot jogging- its sometimes way easier to make a bot do something youd think would be complicated than something thats obviously simple. Running doesnt require you to be perfectly balanced at all times, the slower you walk, the harder it is to remain upright. When running your movements dont have to be *quite* as precise. Not to say its easy to do, but I would much rather make a running bot than a walking bot, because in my experience its been easier.

That high pitched noise from Charlies mic genuinely hurts to listen to
its the CRT tube making that sound in the background
I agree, it’s from the new CRT TV
I heard nothing. You must be young.
I’m old and I can hear it as static
Ur room looks cool I like how it evolved over the course of time

Background situation is crazy
I asked GPT 4o what humans would be useful. Its answer, depending on general good and bad scenarios, was either A) nothing or B) Making each other happy through art, therapy, etc
The robot situation is crazy

Holy shi hahaha wild seeing this on the timeline.
We filmed the reuters thing in October, and progress moves really fast in this field. Bot gets better everyday, super excited to show what Neo can do.
I think our most recent public appearance was the all-in podcast christmas episode for those curious about the robot now:)
No.
how much longer can you keep this scam going?
The first color change of his lights at the start made me believe he made a cut not realizing they change automatically
3:58 I mean yeah, if greed didn't exist. You know dang well these things will be utilized in a way that could screw a lot of people over eventually. :/
Greed? More like the fact that money is the whole reason anything gets produced or invented.
New background is great
But that TV makes too much noise ngl
man i cant wait until my great grand kids say " My Great Grandfather was right all along" when the Bots take over
Well, my time to move to Alaska has come

Oh no, a robot that does chores. Terrifying.
@SlasherFrenzy0 those guys are cool. its because charles said "technology"...
@@joohn4940 Yes it's terrifying
@@SlasherFrenzy0 It all starts with a simple idea....
@@ValSempai Greatness starts that way too.
Some guy: People are afraid of technology
Charlie with a big board with the word technology spawns: Technology!
Some woman: *gasp* Oh my god!
If you get the reference, you're a real one lmao.
If they were to have human faces, we will have uncanny valley vibes.
Charlie really is leaning into the Warhammer collection.Edit: 4:49 all right man, look, you don't know what's under the sweatsuit. They can totally move fast, if programmed to, and let's not ignore the whole "log into it from anywhere and do stuff around your house" feature, which means some goober might hack into your robot and do things while you sleep. So saying, all hail our new Robot Overlords!
Charlie the tvs hi pitch noise comes through my headphones so bad it hurts my ears…
Charlie we love you. The background is so lit. But the box tv is putting off an ear piercing frequency squeal. Is there anyway to fix that?
Same I can't listen to this lol
Pretty smart to put the tv right next to his face to never lose focus on the video. It’s like those TikToks where below the main video is an random Mincraft video.
I noticed this
The robot walking like someone drunk trying to look sober has me dead😂
Hey, my ears are sensitive to high pitched noises and they can be pretty distracting. Just wanted to let you know because CRT tvs produce a high pitched noise and that is getting picked up by your mic when you talk. Not sure if it effects anyone else but for me its pretty annoying and makes it hard to watch the video. Not sure if you want to make any changes but it looks pretty sick
The background looks cooler and cooler every vid! Be proud of yourself charlie!

Does anyone else hear the terrible ringing sound from the tv? My ears are in pain
yo the setup is gorgeous i love the lights everywhere
am i insane or is there a high frequency in the audio

Just so you know the TV in the background creates a ringing sound (i assume not everyone can hear it but im sure other people are)
yeah it's annoying
ITS SO LOUD!
The ringing sound is hurting my brain
If you can hear it, and it bugs you, you are indeed under the age of 25. Fun fact, at one point we all just lived with that sound.
I hear it.
3:33 "I Have No Mouth, And I Must Eat Ass"
Detroit: Become Human takes place in 2038, and every day that passes makes that seem more and more plausible.
my adhd is distracted by the tv
That thing is going to slip on a banana peel, maybe a few shed hairs or a singular stray atom, and topple over, instantly killing someone's toddler and/or small pet. That thing does not look gainly in the slightest, and I have to wonder just how heavy these things are.
