    I like to run a score layer on my backer that outlines were all of the pieces are going to go. It really helps with placement and you can run it at 60+mm/s so it goes really quick.

      Thanks! I typically do. The first one I cut was the wrong size and scored and then in my haste I cut another one and forgot the score lines. 🤦‍♀️ I typically score around 800 speed 25 power.

    I just watched one of your videos on lasering acrylic and the acrylic was totally masked. You then sealed it and painted the print.
    Once everything had dried he then attempted to remove the mask. The mass did not want to come off - it came off in chunks, pieces, and strips.
    You may already know this but if you take a blow dryer and just barely warm up the masking tape it will come off... the glue will get sticky again and you can pull it off much easier. Try it out and see if it helps.

    Great video! Wish we could have seen the final sign a little more up close and personal at the end. But very informative. I have to up my game!

    I have to admit that I like your idea for painting small pieces by taping to some cardboard so you can do a bunch at one time, not have to hold them and also keep the backs free from paint so you can glue them later.

    In place of filler primer have you tried to use watered down wood glue (titebond) and paint the parts first for a sealer??

    Great video! Love the mix of tempo, your arts/crafts approach, and I'm secretly jealous of your Christmas staging area, haha. You might like an item on my to-buy list; the Lasko FF305. I plan to set it next to my sanding area to draw the dust away, and for when I'm to lazy to mask up for a minute or 2 job.

    What’s your thoughts on having an air sprayer for paint over cost of cans?

    • @ThatMomWithALaser
      @ThatMomWithALaser  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would totally invest in one if I did this all the time. Since it was a one off project spray paint was enough. 🙂

    You need to build a downdraft table. It will solve two of your biggest issues - one being it will suction your work to the table to free up your hands and two it will allow the dust to not get in the air. I don't know where you're located in the US, but I could design one and send you the info if you want. I'm a UF Gators Alum BTW - good mashup of the two schools on the logo.

      Thank you for your input! I rarely make projects like this but if it becomes something I do all the time then I will definitely consider it. The business did a great job with their logo. I love it too!

    Pretty neat process but would have liked to see more of the finished product. I really liked it up until the painting portion. If it's going to be painted anyways...I couldn't help but thing 3d printing the inner parts would have been easier.

      @@chipsmith6486oh I see. You mean the MDF sheet. It might be but neither myself or many of my viewers work with power tools. Many of us just work with the laser and other equipment like sub printers, heat presses, etc. So using the access door is an easy solution for those one off peices of large wood.
