I really need to do this trip too. You're improving a lot, it's all baby steps (unless you're still 20 years old). I spent all summer surfing Agate and Otter and still struggle with a clean pop up. Just being in the ocean is a blessing by itself.
Thanks so much! Yes all the baby steps have made this a fun journey. And I credit the surf camp for speeding it up a bit for me. Surfing daily really makes a huge difference. I feel you on the attempts to surf on the Oregon coast. I simply do not surf as well here. I blame it on the cold and the wetsuit haha. Hope you’re able to make it out to Costa Rica. Jimmy and I are heading to El Salvador this coming week.
I'm the exact same way about always sitting further outback because I'm afraid of the impact zone lol! You're not alone on that one. Oh, and I arrive at WRSC next Saturday! I'm so stoked!
Just got back from my week at WRSC! Such an amazing experience to surf those warm waters and meet all those amazing people! Mateo was my coach and I won Best Wipeout lol!
Oh man that’s so good to hear you had a great time! And Mateo is awesome. Would love to see the TH-cam video for the week if you don’t mind sharing. - Mel

Thank you! Yeah that board was amazing, so I got a purple version of it made. Excited to take it El Salvador next week. And no don’t sell your quiver! You never know when you’ll need them. I usually go 4-5 months not surfing in fall/winter bc the waves get too big here in the PNW. But I get right back to it after.
My friend and I did experience the localism one time when we surfed by ourselves before the camp. We just let them take wave after wave and then they finally let us take some. I think the surf instructors at WRSC act as both guides and to prevent the locals from causing the surf groups problems. Im going to El Salvador next so I’m curious how it will be there.
Excellent film!! You have made great progress!! Waves are pumping this up here in the PNW!!!
Thank you! Yes hoping to surf some nice swells this fall 🤙🏽

Explosive skill growth! Every video shows your improvement-NEVER GIVE UP!
Haha thanks! And I won’t. Excited for El Salvador!
Woo hoo for progress!
Thank you! I finally feel like a real surfer, but the imposter syndrome will always be there.
Tamarindo is such a great place to surf! Love these surf vlogs :)
Thank you! Yeah great place to learn for sure. Probably be a while before I head back. Going to surf El Salvador next.
Awesome!
You're improving like crazy!!!
I haven't had the opportunity to surf since May. I may sell my entire 6 board quiver and give it up.😢

Nice edit 🤙
Thanks for watching!
what kind of board do you have?
It’s a 7’3 egg shape. By Shuler Surf on the Oregon Coast.
Used to love going to Costa Rica but the localism is crazy. True its their home turf but as a female surfer I found it very bothersome.
