Nice vlog! Glad you got out to the North Shore. I hope to get out there and surf at Chun's, and Turtle Bay myself. You did well Melanie! Keep crushing it out there.
Thanks! It was hard catching waves because all of the locals were so darn good and fast! Still had a blast though and was starting to get the hang of a long board.
@@JimmyxMelanie That was my experience with Hawaii as well when I was going through my first round of surfing back in 99'. Canoes and Wakiki was fun but go anywhere else and the locals were fast on the waves. I did catch a couple bombs south of Makaha but only after talking to the locals who later helped me catch those bombs.
How are you legends doing? I have not seen a vlog from you in a while. You guys played a huge role in getting me to finally commit to my TH-cam dreams. I hope you both are doing well.
Love it! We spent a month Laie last January; I freaking love the North Shore soo much. Going back again this year- might stay at Pupukea this time. 🤙🌺 sunsets at Sunset are the best!
Wow a month sounds amazing. The North Shore was great! The rest of our trip we stayed in Waikiki, but really wish we stayed in North Shore the whole time.
Definitely on our list! The sunsets are stunning. The food, yum! Did you rent a board on each beach you surfed? Also, I spy a trail mixed sticker! -Helen
It was fun! If you go to Oahu I probably would just stay in the North Shore the entire time. Went to Honolulu the second half and it was too busy and touristy. We rented 3 boards from a local shop for 4 days for about $200 and kept it at our airbnb. Our suv didn't have a rack but they provided us with those little black square gym mats to place on top of the car and lay the boards on top.
