Marlon products are great, they are built in British Columbia and tested at Green Lake in the southern Caribou in BC. ( home of the Green Lake Snowmobile Club).
As an owner of a Marlon deck I can confirm that they do not fit a crossover or trail sled in the middle. Skis are 2 inches to wide and land on the aluminium, I had to work with a dealor ( good thing he is friend) to get a replacement. When you pay over 4k for a deck you should be able to put any kind of sled on it. I got one that was 3.5 inches wider and it fits my mtn or trail sled prefect now.
@@snowtrax i have a 2020 explorer 2. still the best deck on the market, i wouldn't want any other style deck the led bar is a huge game changer. you can see in your video that you are off the middle guide
that's' what i'm seeing on my Marlon too. was curious if they were all set up like that. i'm moving my guides and sides out to fit a trail width sled to save the aluminum (that won't be easy to replace) i have a new 2019 model.
I have a Marlon deck, and the only way I could load that slow and controlled is if I had no carbides. Wait, are those adjustable carbides? Skis look a little flat before she hits the ramp.
@@ConnorThompson4 it's as lot closer to the limit than you think. I've only got about 2,000 lbs of payload with my ram 2500 with the Cummins and if you throw in two sleds at about 500lbs each, a 150lb sled deck, 25 pounds of gear for each rider, a couple 5 gallon cans of fuel (80lbs), another 20lbs for tools and parts and a conservative 200lbs each for riders and you're at 1,600 lbs already. These guys doing a couple sleds in a deck, 3-4 riders in the truck plus gear and a 2 place trailer with even moderate tongue weight of 400lbs are over the truck's limit just based on the numbers. A similar gas truck will have 700-1,000 lbs more payload to work with in the 2500 market. Most 3500s should be fine either way though
a lot of places don't have room to park a trailer or if your early or late season riding then it makes it super easy to get to the snowline and be able to turn around. plus you don't have to register/plate/or pay insurance, and to top it off, they really hold there resale value.
Have to show my wife this one...good overview Thanks !

Glass shops love the ramps, skis through the back glass is a regular occurrence, as well as the odd sled off the side of the deck.
Great video. Good job Mrs AJ ... ☝️🙌👍👊😉.
She was pretty please with herself for being able to do this. Thanks for the comment, she will like that!
SnowTrax TV No doubt, I would be intimidated myself too doing it for the first time !
Are these water right underneath in the bed?
do you find a trail width sled's skis doesn't ride on the glides (more mtn width) in the single center position?
Didn't notice any issue, they seem to work pretty good.

I’ll take another look at it, but on this Pro 2 I seem to remember it fitting trail width just fine. Maybe it was the previous versions that didn’t.

Loading for people usually isnt a problem....most of the issues is when you reverse the sled off for unloading. Thats where most people fail.

Man, I wish I could go this route. But I just can't with the 80 billion tons of salt they put on the roads here in MN, thus, enclosed trailer.
how do you have it mounted to the bed of the truck ?
🤗🤗👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
how do you safely load/unload 2 sleds???
My mind was half way made up to buy a double trailer, but I may just buy a Marlon deck now that I've seen a first timer can do it.
Is two sled legal on a half ton pickup in Canada?
As long as it’s within the trucks legal payload capacity. Width/height wise it’s all good.
I wish i bought a diesel, i guess the trailer will have to do for now.
You can put these in short box gas trucks too. They are a universal fit.
A gas 2500 would have more payload anyway... A diesel would actually be a worse fit for something like this because they have a lower payload rating.
@@snowmanwithahat a couple of sleds is nowhere near payload ratings

But isn't this more expensive than a trailer. So what's the point.

It’s kinda sketchy lol, I’m still scared of my deck
