      Horrible pick! They could have drafted dennard to help their secondary. They should have traded down if they wanted shazier.

      tommy forster Traded down? Rumor was Dallas wanted him and the Ravens took Mosely. If this is who they wanted they made the right move.

    I love your video thanks for making it! If it's not too late to add a clip, you can't properly tell the legend of Ryan Shazier without the goal line stand against wisconsin where Montee Ball was about to set an NCAA record for rushing touchdowns and possibly ice the game. He went airborne and shazier met him in the air and straight up punched the ball out of Montee's arms. OSU recovers and goes on to win the game. man, Shazier always came up big in goal line situations. Best OSU linebacker since Laurinitis and Hawk.

    Like the pick. A speedy LB that can play inside, plays full speed, hard hitter, form tackles, good blitzer (wink,wink) and has SPEED. We getting back to Blitzburgh ball. Killa LBs everywhere.

    Ryan Shazier is 6'1 and 237..... Timmons is 6'1 and 231 not worried about the "undersized" comments. Timmons is a BEAST and Shazier will be too!!!!

  • @el34glo59
    @el34glo59 10 ปีที่แล้ว +22

    Let's see. Great work ethic. Plays every play extremely hard till the whistle blows. Great head on his shoulders. Not wold but controlled aggression. And he has aggression. Stronger than he looks. Backs all it up with amazing play.
    6'1", 237, runs a 4.3 consistently, had the highest vertical if every single player at combine at 42 inches, almost 11ft broad jump. Can easily put ten pounds on and not lose any speed. Has the frame to do that and it's been stated everywhere. Do really a 6'1", 248lb, LB who runs a 4.3. Had some of the most fluid hips I've seen and is called the human GUMBY because of his flexibility. Fast learner. Can cover anyone and doesn't get fooled much at all. Amazing burst with a good punch with his first contact when rushing. Can change direction on a dime, compares to CBs in that regard. Great instincts, doesn't over pursue and good wrap up tackler. Compares to Clay Matthews, on many profiles online but a little smaller but faster and even more athletic.
    You take this guy. Even if we have to move up. I'd take him over C. J.. His upside is that good plus he's ready to start immediately like Mosley. This guy will be an all pro. I promise you that.
    You put him opposite Matthews on the week side. Then you put Perry on the line in a hybrid type role. You have Matthews, Peppers, Jones, Daniels, Neal, Perry, and Shazier rushing. You have Raji in his real position at NT eating up blockers. You resign Jolly and add a couple other beefy guys for run stopping.
    That will be an all pro line by mid season. Mark my words. And the defense will be top 5-10. Especially with a new FS and Burnett moving to his real position at SS. You also have Hayward back at the slot, he's a beast and a huge loss last year, Shields shutting down the number 1 which he can. Williams getting back to his old form. House for size, he should be improved, had talent. And Hyde roaming ala Woodson. Hyde will also take some pressure off our new FS which imo will be Buccanon or Ward.

      @bomalone 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Slow your roll, Pecikonis. I'm a big fan of the Pack and the draft and Shazier, but let's not go crazy. We had one of the worst defenses in the league last year, so jumping to Top 5-10, while possible, is still pretty unlikely.
      Seattle, Carolina, St. Louis, Kansas City, Arizona, Cincinnati, New Orleans, NYJ, New England, and San Francisco are 10 teams with pretty nasty defenses, and the Packers were among teams like Houston, Dallas, and Atlanta last year.
      I love your optimism. Let's just not set ourselves up for disappointment like we fans tend to do annually, you know?

    Cowboys fan here. This Shazier is a freak. He is exactly what the Cowboys need. Fast enough to help cover tight ends in todays NFL. I think he is underrated and would be fantastic as a blitzer. I hope the Cowboys snag him if Donald,Martin and Lewan are gone. I have watched Mosely. I think Shazier will be a better pro. Speed is what matters in the NFL.

  • @chrissutter8209
    @chrissutter8209 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    As a Michigan fan, I hated Shazier in college, but seeing him on tape and watching his abilities in the combines, I want nothing more than him to go to the Lions. If the Lions can trade down a few picks he would be the PERFECT pick for them!

  • @BroskiPro
    @BroskiPro 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    He should try and convert to safety...... he ran a 4.38 40 and hes only 6'2" 230.
    If he stays at LB hes gonna have to bulk up to around 240-245 for durability reasons.
    He can obviously do that but he could be an amazing safety. Hes a rare talent and who ever drafts him is gonna get a versatile player with tremendous potential. (At either position)

  • @backatit332
    @backatit332 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    man shazier throws his body around like he doesnt care. One of the most impressive things ive seen him do is a goal line stop where he forced a fumble. He just threw his body in there with no care at all. He's going to become a steeler great, any LB knows if there's anywhere you want to go it's the steelers. They can just naturally build great LB.

    Shazier has had back to back strong seasons, plays beyond fast for this position, struggles shaking blocks, but consistently beat them with speed. Blocks will drop in the NFL if he moves to OLB or SS. Incredible tackler too.

    Green Bay grabs him. Then moves up on the second because of our plethora of draft picks to grab the highly underrated safety in Bucannon. Fill two needs with one of those guys being the best athlete in the draft with Shazier. Set him up at weak side which he'll completely shine at because of Raji being back to his natural NT spot where he will eat guys up. Truly Rajis last chance and he will shine especially because he was born to play NT. Not DE. I'd be ecstatic with these two picks. I absolutely love the upside of Shazier. What a freak. Finally some speed and athleticism at that position. If Mosley is still there it will be a tough choice. He's ready to start but Shazier is a freak with tons of upside. Guy is faster than corners. And all this lacks bulk is crap. He's 6'1 237. He'll put a few pounds on and be fine. Coming out if college that weight is fine. He's also not lacking bulk or strength. Look at that dude with his shirt off. He's ripped and has a serious neck on him. He will turn into an all around beast. I'd take him. Then Bucannon. THEN either MLB or TE and then WR. DEEP DEEP CLASS FOR WR. Fills talent and superior speed and athletism at LB, fill our FS need with Hyde roaming all over the place while Bucannon hones his skills. Plus Burnett gets back to his real position at SS. Where his play will improve immensely. Then you fill TE, ILB and WR. We're set. Sign JOLLY immediately. Peppers and Neal in Hybrid. Perfect build for that. Daniels beasting at rushing the QB. Raji back to a position he can dominate. Perry back on the right side olb full time where he shines and Matthews on the left. Heyward back. House has had a full season back in action and will improve and has the size. Shields will shut down even more and Williams is back to his old firm. I like what I see and I see a lot more than just a peppers signing. I see talent, burst, Suze and more importantly veteran leadership. Bring Jolly for even more leadership and you get these young guys on point and passionate. Disciplined.

    • @spinasweetness
      @spinasweetness 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Our plethora of draft picks?? We only have 9 dude.. In one of the deepest drafts in recent memory, we should be trading back to get Borland or Bucannon in the early second to pick up a couple extra and then, depending on who we take, hoping for Borland or Jimmie Ward at 53... (Borland could go anywhere in the 2nd..)

    • @el34glo59
      @el34glo59 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      spinasweetness Um no and no. We have 4 on the top 100. That alone is a plethora of top picks, and then we have 5 more. We're set. We grab Shazier in the first as I said, move up and grab Bucannon unless he falls to us. Then we grab a beast receiver, move up a couple spots using our probably 5 picks left and grab a raw athletic TE.

    • @el34glo59

    The guy is a freak. He's a 3 down ILB/OLB with 4.38 speed. He's already faster than the fastest CB on the Steelers. This much talent could not be passed up. He's a playmaker all over the field. Great pick. Dennard is much slower and not the athlete this guy is. Dallas was on the phone with his agent when the Steelers took him at 15. Dallas was taking him with the 16th pick.

    Terrell Pryor walking the defense for a 93yd TD must have been the reason for that pick. A LB that runs a 4.39sec 40 that can spy and cover backs like Rice seems like a good choice. He's a little light for LB though. Reminds me of when Carnell Lake came out of UCLA. Remember, they moved him to safety.

    Shazier is probably the only Buckeye in this draft class I would consider a first rounder, and that's mainly because this draft class seems pretty thin at pure linebacker (doesn't include pass rushing OLBs). In my eyes, him and C.J. Mosely are about the only 2 pure linebackers that can crack the first round, Mosely definitely and Shazier would go near the end, but also may slip out. I could see him going to Denver to play in the mike spot (even though I know he was a will at OSU) because Denver lost Woodyard to FA and Paris Lenon should be replaced sooner rather than later. Miller, Shazier, and Trevathan would be a very solid linebacking core along with the free agent additions

      Carlos Hyde?! Are you crazy

    • @Bassguitarist712
      @Bassguitarist712 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hyde is good, but by no means a first rounder, running backs are not valued nearly as much in the NFL nowadays

    I mean he looks like a good pick but we didnt need another linebacker really.. cb and wr was much needed. But knowing pitt we normally draft good wr's late. We needed to go dennard. But still a beast linebacker in Shazier

    The pats only need consistent inside pass rush to get them back to the SB.. who says we need it from a DT trade down for a second n pick this kid up... runs a 4.5 and hits like a train.. great Blitzer..

    Folks why aint nobody talkin about this dude!? He's like vernon davis but at linebacker. He's more of a freak of nature than jadevon clowney and nobody still is talkin about him. Look at the boy stats his football stats and combine stats he should easily be a top 10 pick. He's the number one sleeper in the draft. I hope the cards get em imagine him on the cards or steelers smh he would be unstoppable period

    Always thought he was gonna be a bit of a tweener LB/S in the Pros.. hopefully the added mass doesn't slow him down and he can be physical..

    Could see a scenario where Pitt snags Darqueze in the 1st and double downs on defense in the second with Shazier if he last. imagine him next to Timmons with worilds and jones on the outside.

    This guy makes the Steelers defense probably one of the fastest in the NFL. Timmons, Shazier, Mike Mitchell and either Polamalu or Shamarko in the future. Going to be crazy good. If only we didn't waste last years pick on an undersized, slow pass rusher. Should've taken Eifert or traded back to take Jamie Collins. Collins is big and fast. Jarvis is small and slow.

    Cardinals D needs this guy!!
    Dockett and Campbell and Abraham up front Washington and Shazier at linebackers
    Peterson Cromartie and Mathieu in the secondary!!
    Cards D will be lethal!!

    Would love to see this guy in a Dolphins uniform either replacing Wheeler at OLB or challenging for one of the safety spots. He pops off the screen. He'll be a bad man for a while in the NFL.

    Sideline to sideline. Shedding blocks and filling holes is his biggest weakness and that can be fixed with time in the weight room. The front 7 needed bolstering and that is exactly what Ryan will provide. He'll probably make an immediate impact on special teams, which has been terrible for the past few seasons. He runs a sub-4.4 40. Imagine him gunning on punts and lining up to block kicks.
    To everyone clamoring for Dennard: The front 7 was a much bigger problem than the secondary last season. 115 yards rushing/game against is absolutely pathetic. Now, it can be argued that a good d-lineman whom we can rotate in more regularly would have been better, but you have to believe in your board. Besides, top-flight CBs are wasted on a team that plays zone 95% of the time. We just need CBs that can play zone, get off blocks, and tackle.
    Not my ideal player but I like this selection. I wanted Mike Evans, and Kelvin Benjamin would have been a reach at 15. Hopefully we pick up Marquise Lee later today, then a good DE/DT, THEN we can worry about CBs. Remember: The secondary's job gets a lot easier when the QB is under pressure and RBs never make it past the second level.

    i could have a highlights reel like that too if i had to go against that blocking. I feel like he's just gonna get bullied around in the nfl cause of his size. incredible tackler though.
