thank you for the review, thinking about getting this pack. also if your worried about doubling your transit time, might want to get in shape before "bugging out", just a thought.

I have a G 4 Operator in Ranger Green and love it. When I travel in the winter I use it for a winter survival kit. The down side (if there is one) with all the quality materials comes some weight, around 9 pounds. It is manufactured at the highest quality.

I never understood speed and time in a Bug Out situation. I can not think of a warning or the elements I could possibly out run even if I didn't have a bag on my back. Anyway, this is the best bag out there. I would love to get one.

I like the cover that swaps around the pack. That was a great idea.

How much are these bags? I know they are expensive, but how much? I really like the feature for hiding a weapon, ar 15 would fit snug.

Great idea, the tubing. I have some lying around, gonna add it. I have a silencer for the AR, one for the .45, and one for a .22 not shown here.

Mmmm, sausage balls! I like zip locks for each seperate groups of stuff, like fire starting, supplements/medicines, toiletries, ect. It works pretty well that way.

That look's just like the Eberlestock Fac Pack that I have been resisting pulling the trigger on . Looks real good !! I have the Bang Bang Range bag so I know the Quality is there .Just like my Mercury's /Fords If it's good enough for the Govt It will do just fine for me !! Thanks for sharing 'You've pushed me closer to sealing the deal !!

Nice bag,, I would think that chest strap should be wider due to the size of the bag.. Is the thin strap uncomfortable at all?
Thanks for sharing this awesomeness :)

I looked into this bag because I was interested in a weekend camping bag. Then I found the Kelty Eagle 128. I can get the Kelty for cheaper, is the same weight, but is a 7850 cu in bag.

That thing is absolutely HUGE!!! I could pack the kids in that thing. On second though, I would probably lose the kids in that thing. Great review. Keep up the good work, I really enjoy your videos.

Hey John, thanks for watching! The chest strap has almost no stress on it -- it's just there to keep the shoulder straps centered, so you actually want a light chest strap.

ops you have a silencer.. didn't watch the whole video yet. xD
& what are your thoughts on some vinyl tubing? like 1/4" or 3/8," Tubing could really come in handy for collecting / filtering water.

I've had poor results with snares, but I think a fishing kit is a good idea. I just never catch anything with a snare.

  • @lifeisgood070

Just my opinion here... But I'd recommend sticking close to the "carry as little as possible" rule. I'm not knocking the pack, because it's awesome. But:
Ditch all the knives except your main fixed & the one in the multitool, ditch the glow sticks.
    Where are your traps/snares?
A suppressor on the .22 rifle is a good idea. You don't want other ppl to hear you hunting when shtf. I'd recommend something sustainable - ie: doesn't run out of bullets: so traps or bow/arrow, etc.
    Looks good. :)

Some comments here are asking the uploader what colour the bag is. In the absence of a response from the uploader given that the video was put up years ago, I'm going to take a 'guess' that the colour is Eberlestock's Dry Earth as I own an Eberlestock pack in Dry Earth. However, I cannot say 100% as this is the nature of their Dry Earth colour.
It can take on a subtle greenish tone in some environments and appear more tan in more stone environments. Perception of the Dry Earth (I say 'perception' because it is all about a trick on the eye, rather than some magical ingredient in it) can even be altered by proximity of clothing colours worn at the time, or the strength of sunlight at different times of year or various regions of the world. At 1:05 on this video, it can appear more like Eberlestock's Military Green, but at 8:02 it seems much more like Dry Earth.

Definitely not an ultralight, but the tradeoff in quality, size, and features is worth it, I think.

I’m 6’ I’ll tell y’all it’s not a huge! Bag it’s perfect and even overloaded like emergency grab and go overloaded you can’t feel the bag ounce nicely strapped in it feels pretty light even with an extra 60/65lbs of over kill...but just to use even for thinking like long weekends out or camping this pack rules and the Gs2 is just awesome as well

Why would your side arm be in a bag and not on your body? Not trolling but just putting it out there that you might want to take a look at your "TTP's"

I like my condor 3-day pack. It's not as big as yours, but it has many similarities. It's better for people who are smaller size. I'm a firm believer in the rule that your BOB shouldn't weigh much more that 1/4 your body weight.

I would use it for my elk hunts in the mountains when I need to stay up in the mountains for several days it can carry everything you need plus my rifle. But in my case I also can't afford to buy 5 different packs to meet every need I have. So I will just buy one that can do everything I need.

Sir, at what point do you give a product review? The feature list you speak of is already covered by Eberlstock and done very professionally at that! Listing known features and specs is not a review. A review says I use a bolt action rifle or an AR-15 and after a month I found XYZ. A review requires real world use not buying high end gear & camping! I suspect that if one where humping through the desert, woods then one would be in shape & not mention his poor shape as a drawback to a great bag.

Except with a 3 day assault pack you are really trimming down on your capabilities because you can't bring as much. Guess it depends on your plan. But mine requires extended multi-day capabilities. Like 5-7 days.

I got the F4 instead because a lot of reviews by guys that werent ether fat, or freakishly tall said the operator sways and is unstable as fuck if you dont have a rifle in it, and even when you do the compression straps dont tighten enough without compromising interior space.

In the day and age of cars/trucks, who would walk back home. I mean why would one need so much just load up the trunk. How many times have you really run out of gas in your life.... LOL. or the car breaks down....The only walk you would be doing is to the gas station to get gas to get back home.... THOUGHTS...? I think we are just wishing things went back to the stone age to use this sh!T
