    Please sieve and dry roast the rice flour before mixing to avoid chance of bursting in oil

      Thanks a lot for your prompt reply. It’s indeed very nice of you to do so. In your recipe you did not mention , if the rice four was store bought or home made. I do realize that the home made flour is slightly wet than the store bought one. Is the procedure the same? Sorry to bug you🙂I love vellai seedai and so do my children😬. 🙏. Determined to try it this time

    Janmashtami wishes to all of you amma. ...thank you ..made both uppu seedai n Vella seedai later in the same oil. N made very tiny balls gently n also slightly bigger Vella seedai ..Bcos kept little oil n totally took only 200gm n both hv turned out very well. Just tht I added copra dessicated coconut powder n it has come out very well. Used ready made bhagirathi modak atta n urad atta from Bigbasket. Roasted both n made Prasad. Thank you Amma. I was scared ...but it has come very tasty n crispy both of them. Thank you.

    You make it effortlessly. Vellai Cheedai is very tricky. Tried it a few times and every time it’s a disaster. Probably depends on the quality of the jaggery too. Any tips for a fool proof one😁. Thank u

    Mam I tried both seedai veelaseedai came very well. uppu seedai also came well but after some time it became from crispy to softness but taste and all correct.what may be the cause mam please tell me.

      Una , it is better to sieve and roast rice flour well even if it is store bought flour to avoid danger of bursting Pls note this correction to my earlier reply

      @@vijikrishna1 in my home my mumma used to soak the rice then spread on clean white cloth den grind it in machine ,den she will dry roast it in kadai .salt as per ur requirement

      Ma'am, after the seedai reached room temperature they became soft though kept in box. Please tell me what's the mistake I made

    Gita aunty, Happy Janmashtami.. Tried your proportions.. For me some cheedai were crisp..some were a little soft..Also salt was a pinch higher as I did not taste it as it was being made as prasadam. How to avoid them being soft ?

      cooking butter is unsalted butter, if you use amul butter reduce the salt

    Looks very simple ...thanks for the right measurements. But I always have doubt when adding salt ( I too add salt hing in the same way you did)
    Since we are making for Neivedhyam we cant taste it How to be sure that salt is ok ?Is there any measurement for salt ?

      Possibly the oil was overcrowded with seedai

      Don't worry Lavanya. I hope you were not hurt. Sometimes this happens even to experienced people. Please make sure that the flours arsieved well before use. Also dissolve the sat in water and add.Dont roll out into tight balls. just roll them lightly with your palms

    Aunty, is the rice flour store bought or you prepared it by soaking, drying, grinding, sieving, and then roasting (the usual process we follow)
