Really love this video. It’s also funny how you have dudes that are extremely competitive and nearly 90% of dudes that play at the Y, imagine they are their favorite NBA player the moment they have the ball in hand. This official ball is the closest thing to reality to feeling like the pros and they run away from it the moment they see it 😂🤡
I played with the spalding ball a few times back in the day, I think was beyond broken in because it didn't have much grip. TIL THIS DAY, my favorite ball ever was the old Spalding TF-1000 from the early-mid 2000s, that ball is GOATed.
@@essentialjordan23 the TF-1000 from the late 90s and early 2000s is hands down my favourite. We hooped with several at my drop in centre as a teen aged and nothing comes close. Too bad spalding can’t replicate it. Really does suck
It’s frustrating that once you hoop with an nba/ leather ball( spalding has the Tf Model M/old ball still) evos and NXT’s just don’t feel right.. They feel too bouncy and soft. Once sweat hits them theyre super slippery whereas the NBA ball gets stickier the more the run heats up. Pro tips for getting the game ball. Yearly they do an all star and a NBA finals game ball. About a 2-6 weeks after they put them on sale for about half off. It’s the same ball just with an all star or nba finals emblem on it.
@@MeechYaboyright! I also feel like the evos/TF - composite models feel a little light when I'm shooting. I'm used to the old leather basketballs we practiced with in high school. They were weighted and went thru the net so smooth because of the weight.
@@rdaffon23 A ball that was completely slept on because of the break-in was the spalding tf-100 they did for stranger things. They felt like a leather version of the old tf-1000s that you can’t find no more.
nice drop and review. I never knew until recently that the wilson evo channels were composite and not rubber. just learned since I picked up a few (indoor and outdoor) molten fiba balls to mess around with. enjoying them so far for how they fly. Feel though I personally prefer baden elite, wilson evo, and now these moltens in that order.
I thought about giving up on trying to break it in, but I paid too much to give up on it. Plus I believe it’ll be worth it once the ball is broken in properly.
I have both the spalding and the wilson. I find them great until they get a bit dried out and slippery after about a year and a half ish. I also found the wilson break in to be like 6 months faster.
Nice video.. I go to the gym everyday & shoot at least 300-400 shots. I use the official nba ball when I shoot. Is the quality & durability worth the $200+? NO! Will you become a better shooter shooting with the official NBA ball? In my opinion YES! I sometimes play pickup bball & guys hate the official NBA game ball, & prefer to play with the Wilson evolution ball. From my experience, shooting with the evolution ball is easier than shooting with the nba ball. The nba ball seems to be slightly heavier & wider.
Awsome video! I was wondering, what did you do to clean the ball? and how often you cleaned it? Im thinking getting the TF Model M. Its the unbranded nba official game ball from spalding.
i have an official nba spalding ball and it only lasted about a year and it didn't do well because of how much dirt it picked up and absorbed, and if it was cold outside, it was unplayable because of how slick it was. i definitely prefer that shape and style of ball especially the channel depth! wide/deep channel balls are the absolute worst and I can't believe people really enjoy playing with them lol
I love my spalding official game ball molten bg5000. But the people in the gym won’t play with it. Both balls are broken in. They’ll always pick the evolution. 🙂
Would this be a good ball for a new player? I been learning basketball for a couple weeks now and I’ve always used the official nfl ball”the Duke” since childhood.
I had the Spalding official game ball for years before it was stolen at the gym. I feel like it was just starting to break in after owning for 5+ years. Also, since its leather, I always wondered if I should apply leather conditioner to it to help it soften up and break in?
@snkrtechtalk6005 have you already reviewed the Dime basketballs? I bought an indoor and another for outdoor. I really like the weight of it. More similar to a broken in leather basketball I think.
When you see that brown ball in the gym, you know the runs are gonna be absolutely elite
