I hate that this is the best I can get for this scene. that said, I always wondered how he got off that rock, but a line form the series, though unrelated, gave me a good idea "I gotta go get a loony off a rock" makes me thing eventually burt came back for him.
am i the only one who hated this ending? burt is supposed to be a protagonist, someone to root for and get behind, but he was a horrible, disgusting person towards that poor guy melvin for no reason, so he's not a good guy and you can't root for him. he wasn't a mean guy to everybody, but he singled out melvin and was horrible towards him for absolutely no reason at all. he was an asshole to him in the first tremors, and he was just as horrible to him here, and that was messed up. i don't like the burt gummer character since he's an asshole. i would've liked to have seen melvin get back at him, to repay him for how horribly he treated him for no reason.
i am going step and disagree.Burt maybe rude sometimes but his a good guy he help people including Melvin to survive in the last 3 films of tremors Melvin never thank him. Melvin was more of a dick everybody and his simple minded and shortsighted. he only thinks his decisions are the best decisions and only care about himself and thinks his better than everybody else . he was teasing people in the first film and not a fun way. sometimes doesn't make best decisions. yes burt was mean to him only because annoying to him. and he put perfection danger sometimes
Melvin is trying to set up a business without researching the area. Ironic that he grew up there and didn't know all there is to know about it and what kind of situations he'd be in if he went there. Most people in real estate have the common sense to know the wildlife of the area to prepare for worst case scenarios on customers. Coyotes, bears, wolves, etc. Melvin was always a prick, the boy who called wolf, and just a nuisance to everyone.
No reason? When that guy was a teen, he wouldn't stop pulling pranks during times of Danger. Burt nearly came close to shooting him because he thought one of those Graboid tongues, which they initially assumed was a mutant snake, was attacking him. Melvin had it coming for a long time.
I wouldn't give Melvin a gun if it was World War 4!
