I really liked the original "Scooby-Doo" bluish green color of the plastic. I just dry nrushed a little bit of greens and blues to bring out texture. The naturalistic browns and grays work well on the figure too.
Another fantastic entry in your excellent (and very informative) Model Crafter's Series, Phil; I particularly like what you say at 09:35: 'Sculptors put a lot of time into these kits, creating all this texture; and dry-brushing the kits REALLY brings out all of that texture.' Right!

the stuff that comes out of the box is almost totally incomplete , the kit really needs diorama work
