Here In Tabasco, Mexico these reddish purple custard apples grow wild. Nowadays is not very popular but still quite a´preciated. We have many wild varieties: Red, yellow, smooth, bumpy shell...
I was able to grab a 5 pound box, can't wait to recieve it! Julian really is the man! Such a nice guy who actually takes the time to respond to inquiries and questions. He made sure I was able to get the box while it was still available. I'll be buying from Lara Farms again without question.
I went to Lara and bought a Fernandez, which was his last one and a runt, and also bought a San Pablo, in which I sold. San Pablo is sweeter but more pink inside. Glad I got Fernandez due to the size of the tree. What a great place to visit and a class act guy Julian is. He will give you a tour while there!
I did purchase 50 pounds of custard apple. I live in Tampa FL bought them Thursday afternoon and got them Friday afternoon!!!!!!!!!! I couldn’t ask for something better. The fruits where DELICIOUS the best Custard apple I ever eaten! When I went back to buy more it was sold out so if you want more then what you think buy it fast because it’ll be gone in no time !!!!! Thank you Paul and Lara Farm for making me and my wife island memories back. God bless!
I bought some Red Custard Apple from Lara’s Farms. The fruit was big and delicious. Delivered next day. This fruit tree is a most have. I planted a 7 g tree. Thank you Paul for your videos.
Cool!! I just ordered one from a nursery. I didn't know one kind from another I just got the first one I saw and it was the San Pablo red apple. Maybe I got lucky 😀. They look delicious! We have a large green custard apple tree, so red should go nicely.
Love Custard Apples. Been buying the Star Apples from Julian twice for the season already. Lara Farms is my FAVORITE NURSERY/ FRUIT Farm Destination. Whenever I am in Redlands, I try to visit Lara Farms! My recently purchased Ronnie & Miguel Avocados are growing really nicely! Thanks JUlian!
This is a very hard to find variety of custard apple here in Brazil. they are not found commercially and the little saplings are hard to find too. im from Uruguay. a colder country that doesnt have custard apples, i went insane the first time i tried an atemoya (custard apple hibrid ) it was the sweetest fruit i ate in my life.
I have cherimoya tree white flesh. I harvest when I see the slightest reddish or yellowing skin on the top probably from the sun. I wrap them in paper into a box for darkness to mature in a few days as fast. Thank you for explaining about the wasp going for seeds. I’m cutting a few now & noticed one w the seeds almost like a tiny string sticking out at the end. I wonder if it’s a wasp worm or the seed reproduction process?
hello friend, I would like to get seeds of this variety of annona reticulata, the one I have here I believe is not the same, the one I have is more pink not so intense red inside,
I was impressed with the video, here in São Paulo we call this fruit the Aztec red pinecone, now, throwing the seed away made me very upset. how do you get in touch and earn some seed. Thanks .
Had my first reticulata recently. I'm up near Chicago, so I have to order custard apples online. Only ever get cherimoya and soursop in Mexican groceries. Not sure of the variety, but the reticulata I had was red. I was excited to try it, but it was easily the worst Annona I've had, and ive tried that temoylata/red atemoya that people think looks so pretty. lol I bet others are better tasting, I got mine from Miami Fruit, so, yeah... I probably was given some dirt fruit
@@FruitfulTrees I tried. They were all out! He's only got mamey and star apples currently listed. I might order mamey, though. Gonna be ordering some grafted soursop trees from him too.
@JulianLara are those 5 Fernandez Custard Apple trees low and bushy becoz they're grafted? Would they be low and bushy when grown from seed? Do they breed true when grown from seed? Do seed grown Fernandez Custard Apple have just as red flesh or would it not be called Fernandez when it's seed-grown?
Hi fellows, could you post likely sources for obtaining seeds for the varieties of Custard Apples described in your videos. I have family in South Florida who could effect purchases of seeds for me. It would not be easy to import trees. Thanks
Lmao I got a new drug dealer. Kesar mango, grafted sweetheart lychee, golden nugget jackfruit and arkins carambola just arrived from Lara farms all the way to the communist state of California. Lol
I'd love to buy some custard apples but they are all sold out. Would love to get a tree as well but they are sold out too. Hope to buy both some fruit and grafted trees from Julian.
@@FruitfulTrees I hope so Paul. I really enjoy your videos. I am in the desert southwest and am planning on acquiring many of these tropical species to grow in my large greenhouse. I grow mainly aroids like Philodendron but I absolutely love all the exotic tropical fruits. Can't wait to get some stuff from Julian and get it planted in my greenhouse.
