I worked in India for 4 years after completing BSc in Speech and Hearing and even after getting experience, the salary increment was about 500 per year. The basic pay was 15k and even after 4 years, it didn’t cross 18k. The work pressure and the behaviour of staffs including HOD and managers were really shameful.
I migrated to Canada in last September as a student and living with a lot of students who came here like I did. Our youths are not satisfied with the systems back in India, especially in Kerala.
Here the basic pay for everyone irrespective of their job is nearly 16 CAD per hour which is almost 960rs. The students are taking care of themselves, their families and are managing their work and study life effectively. Even after everything, we go to bed peacefully. I think that is the main thing that we lack in India. We never wanted to be against anything. But only want to make our life better!

I was working as software engineer in kochi for 3 years and now I am in london working for a well known corporate company
1. What I used to earn in a month in india ,now I am earning in just 2 hours
2. All these 3 years I was put to consistent pressure by management to achieve targets
3. I have a balanced Work/Life culture now (I can spent more time with my family)
4. I can support my parents back in kerala in better way
5. I can allocate my excess fund for investments to secure myself and my kids in future
6. I can travel back to my home anytime i want
7. Standard of living drastically changed.
8. No chaya kada talks here.
9. Most importantly I have a peace of mind now
10. I have all sponsored 12 days family holiday (apart from 28 days annual leave)

How you get a job in london.. Did you apply for this from India?
@@aswaniprabeena The catch is to get an entry permit to the UK because most of the employers in the UK don’t take a chance of providing sponsored visa to people abroad unless you are sundar pichai. I applied through my wife as a student dependant and now my company gave me COS (tier 2) , after her studies in few more months I can sponsor her back.
Once u get here there is pool of opportunities (don’t bother listening to negative videos on youtube)
all you gotta do is
1 . Most important: Make sure you choose to live in london /Manchester /Birmingham or any other big cities (rather than in outskirts,the rent is bit high in cities but its totally worth it)
2. Create an impressive CV
3. Shoot you CV to multiple employers nonstop (indeed/linkedin)
4. Do a thorough Research about the company you are shortlisted for before appearing for Interviews (make sure you choose good companies who can provide COS)
5. Look straight into the eyes of interviewer with a smile and act with full confidence (even if you are deeply burning inside with anxiety )

too much discipline, social status, lack of freedom (like, you can't step out alone in the evening, you will have people staring if you are dressed differently, then usual questions invading privacy) it's so stressful. Very well said. And we observe what's happening in Kerala. If, maybe after 40-50 years, if the political situations etc change, and if we are not dead by then, we might come back to Kerala. We have, and never had anything against living in Kerala. We love living in Kerala. It is our home land - which no other country can replace in our hearts.

Government should pay pension to every citizen, rather than just ex-govt employees. It's totally unfair system. { Once you land a govt job, you'll get salary + bribes(in most of the cases) + pension till you die, even if you don't do much useful work at all while you are 'in service'} - result? the govt is over-burdened, and has to borrow every month to survive. With that money the govt can pay living support to every resident instead.
Ah, who am I even saying this to? Just my wishes, thinking aloud... Anyway...

Very well said. One thing I think the issue of mass migration happening mainly because of the poor mentality of the parents. They lived their life sacrificing for their kids and they screw up their own chance to live with their children in their youth age and missing the opportunity to live with their grand children. Finally they end up going to old age homes or nursing homes at the final years of their life. One thing I believe, at the end of the day, what matters is not the money or fame you made, but the care and love of your loved ones who really loves to be close to you and take care of you.!!

I am a malayali and am also going abroad this year. The reason I am going is not because I hate this place. It's because I am not even able to get a job of ₹10k/month here even after being a post graduate. What am I supposed to do in such a situation? People will go to the place where they can earn money. If our country can't provide that, then why should we stay here? If the government wants people to stay here they should create opportunities here rather than criticizing people who are going out. Nobody will care for our survival other than us and that's what we are doing. People who have studied here find that their education is useless in this country. Whatever we have studied is only applicable in developed countries. What will we do with the education on which we have spent more than 25 years and so much money in college fees? This country failed in providing people jobs. It's not our fault. Many of my friends worked in the gulf and have 7-8 years of experience. After COVID they lost their jobs, came here and now here they are also not getting jobs even after having good experience. We did what we could do with full responsibility. Now it's the states responsibility to provide people what they need. So instead of complaining, create opportunities here.

I believe that is a side effect of too many graduates, most people have money and they study courses without proper research. Often family sent them to courses just because someone did and was able to find a job somewhere. There may be not many job opportunities for many of these courses. We are also leaving because our people’s mentality, which we are also part off. We do live in these countries minding our business not because we are good, but because people in those countries don’t allow us to mess with them. You can see numerous mallu associations in those countries, just to do all the mallu activities they enjoy back in Kerala.
@@Aby298 It is also the fault of our British Era outdated and failing education system and an economy which does not care about giving people jobs. Our schools and colleges don't provide proper guidance to students on how to find a job other than an engineer, doctor, lawyer etc. Rote learning and an emphasis on marks rather than understanding and rational thinking is the problem. People here don't think about why they are getting an education. They think it's a business formality and you need to show a peice of paper called degree to earn money. People don't want economic development here. They vote on the basis of religion and caste and politicians take advantage of it. They are happy with their stagnant government jobs and don't care about changing it. Family and Relatives attitude is also a problem. Most people especially our parents, grew up as emotionally frustrated individuals due to lack of personal space and freedom and cruel parents. They know they can't take their frustration out on other people outside. So they love taking it out on relatives. They find pleasure when they see their relatives doing worse than their own child and feel jealous when some relative does better than them. They always look for opportunities to belittle others to satisfy their own stupid ego. Instead of fighting the system to generate more jobs, they resort to these techniques to find peace in their failure and ignorance. Also, our parents generation did not have a lack of jobs because the population was low at that time and there was an economic boom period and inflation was not so high. Our generation is the one that has to deal with recession and lack of jobs and high inflation. Our parents don't understand these things. They think they got jobs so our children will also get jobs. That era is gone and bad times are coming for which people are not ready. Our parents have become old and they are incapable of changing their mindset. There is also a cultural problem. In developed countries people have to leave their parents after the age of 16. In India children have to live with their parents forever. Our parents give way too much importance to relatives which they don't deserve. They don't know what to talk about in social situations. They start the conversation with What do you do for living and when someone is unemployed they find a target to vent out their frustration and satisfy their ego instead of supporting, showing empathy and understanding their situation. These people talk about having a good relationship but don't know how to maintain it. They don't have any control over their mouth and don't mind their own business. Our generation just wants to escape this negativity and I think that's what they should do. We should be careful that we should not pass on the same negative attitude to the next generation.

They are "us" because I believe they are created by us, we all do corruptions of some sort for our benefits, but when some body else does it, then we have problem. We, including me cannot change anything in our place, and we like to blame on others for every thing, but very keen to reap some ones effort in other countries. Can you point me a mallu fought for a system change in any of these countries they are migrating to? I don't think so, we just want to enjoy someone's foresight and hard work. Look at UK/Ireland, people say living cost is high, so they are migrating to either Australia or New Zealand. They want some one to bring living cost down or they are moving to some place living cost is lower by someones planning and management. In my opinion "We are good in blame".
The thing about recession, didn't the foreign countries also had recession? They all moved on and prosper in economy. US and some other western countries had big trouble during Covid, but they moved forward, so why we cant?.
I think there is a miss-understanding, in western countries, there is no mandatory rules that the children has to move out from parents by 16, children under 18 are considered minors, exception is either pregnancy or military duty. By the age of 15-16, they start working and start making money, and by 18 they try to be independent, that means they are capable to pay for their every day expenses. Lot of children stay with parents, but do pay them, such as rent or groceries, how many of our children does that? In my view, we need to change our attitude that, I am all correct, and others are wrong, my problems are created by wrong doings of others, and someone need to fix the problems, I cannot do any thing.

Your thing about bribes is true. I have given bribes too but very less maybe only for my driving license. But what else can I do if I won't get my driving license without a bribe? People here have different opinions about everything. Most people, like the ancient culture that we have and want to live like that their whole lives but then complain when they don't get good facilities here or face problems like inflation, the lousy and deaf justice system, corruption, caste system, unemployment, poverty, etc. If we want to solve these problems, we will have to develop our economies like China and the USA did with proper regulations. But that is too much hard work and uncomfortable change for people here. That's why they are happy with whatever they have. I am saying that we don't have that kind of people with values that western countries have. They worked hard during the last 50 years to create the system that they have. As far as I know, I did not create this kind of lousy system and toxic mentality of people here. It was something I was born in by default. Just think about the issues political parties fight on. They fight on topics of religion and caste and win the election also. After 75 years of independence, we are still stuck in the same rut that we were in 100 years ago. Doesn't that indicate that we don't care about economic development? Rich people exploit that system and get whatever they want. The poor and middle class suffers the most.
People like me who don't like it, have no option but to leave this country, because what we want nobody wants here. What we could not get here, we looked for it in some other place. That's not an escape. It is a struggle for getting the rights that we deserve. It's a struggle for getting a return on our investment in our education which is our right and not just a fancy whim. Leaving our own country in search of work is not an easy decision. There are a lot of risks involved. It's not that we did not want to do anything for this country. It's because the negative environment here will not let you do anything worthwhile here. The moment you try to do something good they will turn against you and destroy your life.
Every student works hard to get a degree. They told us if we work hard and get a degree you will get a worthwhile job. Then why are we not getting it here? Isn't it a scam then? If currently our government and system cannot give it to us then what are we supposed to do? Wait for another 500 years for this country to get rich and have a better system.
The thing about people in the US that they have to leave home after 16 is because they have job opportunities and a fair wage system where they can handle their expenses. Fathers and mothers don't allow their kids to live with them even though they have the option because they want their kids to go outside, see the world, and become independent at an early age. Do we have it in India? If you are just a high school pass-out at the age of 16 do you think you will get a job anywhere in India? The most you can get is ₹10k if you work in a call center. That too in cities like Delhi Mumbai Chennai etc where ₹10k per month is not enough. Otherwise, you can become a chaiwala, pakodewala, waiter, driver, plumber, etc. Even these kinds of jobs have good pay in western countries. Do we have such a system here? Even after getting a degree too, you can just get a meager pay. In such a situation does the education system here have any value? Why are people working hard to study here? If we could also get fair wages after 16, we could have also taken care of our parents and looked after our expenses.
So, I don't think that I am the one who created this kind of environment in this country. I did whatever I could do with utmost sincerity and responsibility. But I did not get anything in return for that. That's why I am looking for that opportunity elsewhere. There is nothing wrong with it. There was a great scholar named Chanakya in India who wrote Chanakya Niti. From the same collection, here is one quote in which he tells which place one should never live in.
I quote:
"Yasmin deshe na sammano, na vrittirna cha bandhawa,
Na cha vidyagamah, kashchittam desham parivarjayet"
यस्मिन्देशे न सम्मानो न वृत्तिर्न च बान्धवः ।
न च विद्यागमः कश्चित्तं देशं परिवर्जयेत् ।।६३ ।।
Meaning:
One should not stay in a place where there is no respect, there is no income, where there are no powerful friends or relatives, and where acquiring information is not possible.

This is a brilliant video by Sharique. Youth leaving Kerala is largely due to social factors. Thanks to internet, the youth is exposed to ways of life that exist in other parts of the world and in some big Indian cities. There people can earn good money and then enjoy with that money. But in Kerala, youngsters can't make money and life is seriously boring.
People may think of Kerala as a very intellectual state but unfortunately it is not. Kerala is way behind. We don't have a liberal culture. People like to poke their noses into lives of others. Youth which is exposed to more modern lifestyles find it intolerable and go to big cities in India or abroad. As rightly said, society needs to chill in Kerala. Especially the middle aged people who like to think of themselves as the guardians of culture and society. If they hold onto their grumpiness and illiberal attitude, the state will be doomed.
As Innocent rightly said in the movie Sandesam - Sampoorna saksharatha, bandar ke bacche! So, Kerala has to become liberal and chill. Then the govt has to attract investments.

Very good presentation, a radical change of the government is necessary to stop bringing poisonous vegetables from nearby states and to create a good infrastructure and recreational facilities and atmospheric hygiene in Kerala!!
Not just abroad, students even go to other states for studies. I am studying CSE in a private university in chennai, i have noticed that most of my friends back in kerala are outdated with the current market and trends. They still are used to the old bookish knowledge and what the syllabus is, but the exposure outside is totally different. We have major tech events, hackathons and meetups happening all over chennai and same case with cities like bangalore, hyderabad ,etc and i find such stuffs happening way less back in kerala. Pina have to say things like politics, strikes and stuff ethoke porathu koravu aanu, so in a way career illu more focused aanu. If not tier 1 colleges like IIT, NIT, IIIT, most of other colleges and private college in kerala are a total waste when we consider oppurtunities. Placements are less, IT hubs are less all major companies are in cities like bangalore, hyderabad etc. Baaki states illu thane ithra difference undenkil just imagine the oppurtunities in abroad. So cant blame the youth. Give better oppurtunities and definitely people will stay.
In my tym people who are not getting admisn in govmnt colgs in kerala will go outside kerala. And for quality students even now govmnt colgs have good placemnt in kerala. And syllabus is not outdated too.
