When you use unique NPCs instead of the usual clone fillers in Rockstar games, the missions and interactions you have with those NPCs feel a bit more meaningful especially when you go from helping certain characters to having to fight them. In that respect it's similar to the deaths of these unique background characters in Invincible. Those moments of fleshing out NPCs/background characters help establish some emotional tethers between the viewer and npcs.

What I really love about invincible is the fact that nobody is safe from death. You can be a main character for like 14 episodes, and you can still be permanently killed. It really gives a sense of finality to everything. To the complete realism, that people aren't invincible in this world
Invincible is my favorite show ever. I know some people complain about the animation, but they obviously haven't watched anime. You can ignore cost saving animation practices if the story and characters are good. Hell I love solidjjs videos and he is just voicing over still images!

I just have 0 interest in Anime. I've tried to watch so many of them so many times but just can't get into it,I managed to watch through all of part 1 of JoJo but that's really it.
A two in one comment: The guy machine head told to get the money died but not his daughter, his daughter watched him die and had to see him in that state. Which makes that even sadder. And also the attention to detail in this show is really good a lot of the time, something most people don't pick up on.
Invincible is one of the best shows of all time. Everything, down to the last little detail is perfect. They managed to keep it similar to the comic, so it has a sense of familiar common ground, (love that) and on top of it, had a little bit of flair with originality. A great show, and I’m happy it’s prospering.

Reminds me of a similar moment from an issue of All-Star Superman: after stopping an accident when Superman flies away you see some people talking in the background, with one man arguing with someone over the phone that he was going to be late due to a delay. A bit later on that same guy appears in the background again, still upset on the phone and asking whoever is on the other end not to hang up. Near the end of that issue Superman talks a depressed girl out of jumping off a building when she threw her phone down and informs her that her doctor actually was late from an accident earlier.
Another thing I noticed is Nikki, the girl who was helping Martian Man reach his new stretch goal, was seen getting food from the homeless shelter that Amber was volunteering at
Even if you don't consciously notice that it's a character that's been used before, your subconscious mind will still put more emotional weight behind that character's death
Its even more horrifying when you realize in the end clip of this short you can see mark holding i think the little girls hand under tubble only for it to get ripped off
