"Simulations put Mark at a less than 18 percent chance of survival against her"
Survival. Not winning, Survival.

Well to be fair, when fighting a viltrumite the only chance of survival IS winning
They used 18 again when Anissa said the human's have an "18 percent chance of survival without destroying the earth"

Okay but why is Anissa so right about the state of the world and our current system letting our leaders destroy it with no repercussions to themselves...
It's just data
@@casuan9613 It isn't just data, it's the truth. And Mark's only defense is "at least I don't kill" because he knows he can't possibly justify the atrocities humans commit every day against each other and the planet. He pivots to calling into question Anissa and the Viltrumites' moral character, which is indeed deeply flawed, because he knows that in this instance Anissa is right. Her killing innocent humans is no different than a corporation that pays off corrupt politicians to allow the enslavement of their own people and the pilfering of their nation's natural resources. It is no different than the West's intelligence networks that do their best every day to undermine other countries elected officials whenever they do something that is not profitable for us and our companies. Indeed Mark is complicit in these actions by refusing to stop them when he is more than powerful enough to do so. He refuses to see the greatest evil right in front of him is our system of economics and government that allows human greed to continue unchecked and wreak havoc on the lives of billions.

It is which is why it’s important to have hope and faith in humanity as people can change if they are willing to change at all.
@garrettjackson1451 the structure of the human brain and the way its evolved promote climate change. We react to immediate threats. The same reason we procrastinate on assignments is the same reason the climate is worsening. There would be very bad power dynamics under viltrumite rule though, but since their genes seem to dominant over human genes period, i imagine it would only be a few generations of breeding before those power dynamics fade and most of the human population is half-viltrumite, which is basically just viltrumite since their genes seem to dominate ours.

Wow my favourite character now. She is friendlier than rest of them . She had good reasoning and listen to what mark had to say and initiated only because she had to.
This is very much needed because Viltrumites are now known not only for their brutality but their wide knowledge of worlds and having an understanding on how civilizations work. In the comics only the Viltrumites are around. But here in the show they have an army plus Viltrumites. That makes them far more terrifying.

Am I the only one who thinks Mark is AWFUL at pitching why he believes humanity shouldn’t agree with an alliance with the Viltrumites?
Yes, the Viltrumites are conquers and are war like, but if what Anissa says is true and that the Viltrumites have the tech to save Earth, feed the hungry and have a better and more powerful justice system, why does Mark (and by extension the G.D.A.) actually pitch a better idea than just, “well at least I don’t kill people” or “it’s complicated” or “I know humanity isn’t perfect and we make a lot of mistakes but what’s about my feelings!” It’s frustrating. Mark makes no attempt to make even one good point as to why he shouldn’t refute the Viltrumites offer without pissing them off.
Even if Mark was good at making a pitch, for humanity, it is very likely that the Viltrumites would not listen. We saw how Nolan was when he said that they needed to take over the planet now; sure, he has a change of heart, but it only happens after he beats his son to a pulp. Besides, we don't know what Viltrumite rule looks like; it might not be something humanity, or even parts of humanity, will agree with. They may have all this technology but what's the price we're willing to pay to get it; that and how do we know their tech is any better than other alien tech from another culture that could be better than theirs. More importantly, what kind of empire wipes out 50 percent of their population based on weakness alone? Were there no brains among their Empire that might have been beneficial or cultural people that could spread their culture properly to other planets? At the end of the day, you can't really trust Viltrumite rule any more than you could judge how we humans rule the planet.
@@shadowwriter4538
That’s not my point. I agree the Viltrumites cruel and should not be trusted, but you said it yourself. The Viltrumites are stubborn and will only listen to what they think is best for the universe, which is their rule. Now I am not saying we should let them rule use without question, but what’s the best way to minimise their control and lust for war? Playing into their ego and manipulating them into getting what they want without actually giving them all of what they want. It’s the best strategy, a little risky and insane, but it’s better than proving their point. If they aren’t willing to negotiate, then further manipulate them into reconsidering. I can’t remember who it was that said it but it went like that “In order to defeat your enemy, you must make them think they’ve won.” One of the Viltrumites greatest weakness is their own pride and vitality. If you can exploit that, maybe it will make them more cooperative.
Thats what I am saying.

I like how they animate the hair in the wind. It’s both graceful and menacing. Plus, even when their bodies are static, seeing the flowing wind grounds their presence in the scene more.
Too many times superhero animations and SFX neglect to show us wind when someone is FLYING IN THE AIR.
Homelander for example in the boys, I get that his hair is gelled back, but for a guy flying at super sonic speeds, his hair is always in place. Super man the animated series too, has Superman’s hair remaining static and in place as he flies through the air.
Her game is impeccable. You can't refuse her love your life is on the line.
