Dream Star 🌟 A Star Combed Ring Pour in Dreamy Turquoise and 24k Gold! MUST SEE!

Hello Friends!
A couple of weeks ago I did a pour called DreamCatcher, and I want to use those same colors with the solid ring of color around the pour to see if it shows more of the trailing ends of the combed sections.
My Colors are:
Liquitex Heavy Body
Deep Turquoise
Liquitex Basics
Bright Aqua Green
(plus White and Gold)
DecoArt Americana Decor
Metallics
24K Gold
Artist's Loft
Metallic Cobalt Blue
Flow Acrylic Black
My Pouring Medium is:
Liquitex Gloss Medium & Varnish
Paint + a bit of Water
Floetrol
I'm only putting 13 ounces of paint in my cup (instead of 21 ounces) to pour my ring pour. I'm going to use a layer of solid black around my pour, and a thinned out flow extender ring around that, so that the combed flowing sections will stay on the canvas, and we tilt off the flow extender instead of the design.
I pour the ring pour and love it. I pour the ring of solid black around the ring pour, then I apply the flow extender, also in black, around that ring. Then I use my Pozilon mens comb and wreck the ring pour, both from the center out and one or two from the outside in. It looks great!
I tilt it to stretch the paint over the canvas, tilting off the flow extender and keeping the design.
I really like how this piece worked.. I feel like I got the consistency and amount of flow extender right, and I kept the design and combed flowing parts. The pour moved easily, no stress. Yay!

I have been watching you for a good while and I enjoy watching how you like almost tune everything out once you start the actual hands on it's like you go off into ur own little world and your art wow your art is so amazing you are truly gifted that's for sure yes anyone can throw paint on a canvas and move around but you turn it into beautiful amazing real art and I do believe iTs because you put ur heart and soul into each an every pc. Beautiful as usual💖... Idk if anyone mentioned it as I didn't read through all of the comments, but maybe a screen, or 2 layers of screening would work as a lid to the drying box. It may work to keep bugs out and still allow for air circulation.

I loved when that gold edge rolled out in front with the dark stripes over it. I was afraid it would slip over the edge and be lost. It is one of my favorites.

Gorgeousness! Lol A picnic food net works well to keep everything off of your paintings. They sell pretty large ones for reasonable prices. You should look them up. you can use them to cover your paintings and keep the bugs, hair, you dust and everything else off of your paintings .
Mina, Just in case you haven't tried any Blick colors, Blick's Metallic Teal is EXACTLY the same color as Artist's Loft Metallic Cobalt, just as Artist's Loft's Aqua Green is exactly the same color as Liquitex's Bright Aqua Green. It is truly amazing how different company's colors can be exactly the same just as some with the same name can be so drastically different in color. Great painting but I have to tell you that I am not much a fan of the comb wreck technique as I am not a fan of the swipe technique. For me, the color combinations you use are simply amazing to see and is one of my challenges for sure. There are still many challenges for me to conquer and I am thankful that you haven't move to the Shelee Art technique because I cannot entertain that at all right now and just about everyone is doing that now and there are no new videos to watch on many of my favorite artists, so thanks for continuing to give us beginners still something new to watch. I have seen everyone of your videos (Sarah too) so thanks for sticking with us newbies. I love to watch your work!! Great piece.

Such tranquility, feels like I'm floating in space watching Earth pass by. Interestingly, we've been watching a celestial body as its passed by headed to the sun. Its coloring is quite close to this piece. 😁
Perhaps using window screen on part of the drying box would increase air flow and keep the bugs out. I don't know what's worse, a no see-um in my coffee or paint 🤔😕😂.

You can try a more open box that is lined with a type of landscaping fabric.
Thanks Cynthia! We are looking at really fine mesh, I get these tiny tiny gnat things that drive me crazy.. they love wet paint!! Also trying to make it lightweight, it was interesting trying to maneuver a very wet painting into the box in a tight space lol 😆 thanks for watching!!

Mina, this is another great idea that worked super well. I love the gold shown in the photo you used for the thumbnail. So sweet of HoA to build a drying box for you! That reminds me that my friend in Gulfport, Mississippi (where they have tons of bugs and very high humidity), just told me about a food cover that she bought to keep the bugs off of her 18"-20" wide paintings. It's the "M.V. Trading Giant Outdoor Tabletop Food Cover, 24" wide x 46" long Rectangle" that's on Amazon at: www.amazon.com/M-V-Trading-Outdoor-Tabletop-Retangle/dp/B00025BBSI She only recently found that food cover and said it works well and can be folded down and stored.
To cover her larger canvases, she's been using mosquito netting that she drapes over a PVC pipe frame that is shaped like a box. (She made the super inexpensive frames herself using 3/4" diameter PVC pipe and PVC corner connectors.) I think she clamps the mosquito netting to the top of the frame so it doesn't fall on top of the painting. For her really large canvases, she uses a mosquito net made to cover a king-size bed that she hangs from the rafter in her garage and uses bricks to keep the netting pulled away from the canvas. They probably sell those on Amazon, too. Hugs ~Cheryl

ROFL. You're welcome for me passing along my friend's ideas, but you didn't need that info if you already found those things. I'm happy for you to find something that works. I think we're in for a buggy year. We have tons of gnats and odd flying insects already! That's making two of our cats very happy because they love to chase and catch the flying insects.
