  • PRESENTATION OF TAJIKISTAN'S MONUMENTS AT THE BRITISH MUSEUM'S INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION "THE SILK ROADS"
The presentation of Tajikistan's monuments will take place as part of the "Great Silk Roads" exhibition, which will be held from 26 September 2024 to 23 February 2025, at the British Museum. In the central part of the exhibition, artifacts related to the Buddhist culture of the 6th-8th centuries, excavated at the sites of Ajina Teppa, Kofarnihon, and Vakhsh, will be displayed from the collection of the National Museum of Tajikistan.
It should be noted that this is the first exhibition of Tajikistan's ancient heritage in London. Countless studies and analyses have proven that in ancient times, the indigenous peoples of Central Asia, the ancestors of the Tajiks - the Sogdians and Bactrians - played a significant role on the Great Silk Road and served as a bridge between East and West. Notably, the Sogdian language was considered as the language of interethnic communication along this route.
