During her stay in Afghanistan she did socio-political analysis and thrown light on issues faced by muslim women. Also she witnessed the Saur revolution their. She has received many laurels for her research work.

i am late in viewing this precious conversation Dr Anand Nadkarni has with Pratibhatai Ranade, it is so sahaj and yet so significant, so pleasant and yet so profound. Pratibhatai's books present us her progressive and forwaard looking worldview, her integrity towards historicity and historical veracity. She is rare and so pertinent today's political environment in this country. May she have more powers. i remember when, nearly 40 years ago, both she and her husband had returned from Kabul had joined the Mumbai-based film society Screen Unit, which i had the fortune of heading. They would attend most of the film screenings which i had organized and the retrospectives of thinkier-filmmakers such as Sergei Eisenstein, Dziga Vertov, Alexander Dovzhenko, Michaelangelo Antonioni and many others. She has always remained a Drsta - a seeker, a visionary. Vandan to her, we are so grateful to her for writing as many as 40 books in Marathi, particularly the biography of Rani Laxmibai whose persona is beng used for narrow political benefits through films and other means.
