- Welcome back to another vlog from the sunny Isle of Wight! This week I’m in one of my favourite places in the UK, and in fact the second smallest town in the UK, the historic harbour town of Yarmouth - a real hidden gem situated on the western side of the island. I’ll be taking you on a 4K walking tour and showing you all the things to see and do!
Walk with me as I explore the disused railway station converted into a quirky café, the historic mill that sits at the side of the beautiful Yar estuary, the bustling harbour, the ancient church, the historic wooden pier, the little ‘beach’, the Wightlink ferries going over to Lymington and loads more. As far as tourist attractions go, there’s also Henry VIII’s coastal defence Yarmouth Castle and Fort Victoria Country Park, with something to do for all the family. On top of that you’re surrounded by great places to eat, places to stay, hiking routes, amazing pubs and artisan cafes, and plenty of independent shops and antique shops. Not to mention the incredible scenery and views over The Solent.
Perfect for a day trip, a short break or a proper holiday, come and see why this spectacular town is one of the best places to visit on the Isle of Wight this autumn!
If you don’t know me already, I’m Jack and I’m exploring the UK, making travel vlogs as I go. I’d be so grateful for your support, so please do like the video, leave a comment and subscribe to the channel!

This is my favourite place to visit. This side of the island is so much more scenic. The walk to Freshwater along the Yar is one of the best.
I totally agree, one of the best places on the island
Great video! 👐
Thank you!
Really nice video. Thank you.😀
That is so kind of you to say, thanks
@@jackryanmiller No problem. I'm off to the IOW very soon so I want to explore the island. I have been to the IOW in 2019 for the first time. Only for 4 hours though I was staying in Southampton and took the Red Funnel Ferry to Cowes. I took a bus to Newport and from there to Shanklin, I wanted to se the old Willage. I decided to return to the IOW when I got the chance and to explore the island. Looking forward to it. 😀
@ I hope you have an amazing time! If you want some other recommended places to visit on the island I do have some other videos on my IOW playlist 😄
@@jackryanmiller Hi Jack, thank you. I have always watched some locals who has walked on the island I find that it is a very good idea to watch the videos of walking patch and so on before you go to a new place.
Great video, I enjoyed it! Good to see Yarmouth as I've never been. I really should visit the I.O.W , maybe next year.👍Thanks for the tour!👏
Thanks very much and I would really recommend it, it’s one of my favourite places ever 😄
@@jackryanmiller I can tell how much you love the I.O.W! 👍 You're making me love it, and I've never been there!!😅
Great video!
Thanks Ray
Great video Jack. Loved the seagull’s…how noisy were they!!!
Great video Jack. Yarmouth is a beauty 👍😁 I love the George at Christmas time, so magical. For some reason Isle of Wight is closed for business on Monday's, their favourite song is Bob Geldof's I don't like Mondays. The IW even charge people 24/7 364 days a year nightly charge of £2. The island is run by Dick Turpin
Cheers Lee, much appreciated. Would love to visit around Christmas I bet it’s amazing 😁😆
@@jackryanmiller It's the open fires I love 👍😁😎
i live in yarmouth. best pub is the wheatsheaf by far and the blue crab does amazing fish and chips 👌🏼
Thanks a lot Jack, two places I’ve never been to in Yarmouth so will definitely check them out next time 👍
There is another beautiful beach in Yarmouth with soft sand dunes and a small cove to swim safely, directly next to the harbour - it’s called Sand Hard
@@DianneWalker-s4o that sounds great thanks very much Dianne
Jack many parts of the island charge 50p to use public toilets. I will never pay to use a toilet. The toilets and parking is free at Fort Victoria. Let's hope it stays that way. Look forward to your next video 👍😁😎
Ha ha exactly, that’s why I appreciate Fort Victoria, I get that car parks cost money, but toilets ?!? 🤪
I couldn't remember if I have visit Yarmouth on The Isle Of Wight, so just had to asked my dad and he said that I have.
Aha I was going to ask if this brought back memories but sounds like it didn’t 😆
Great video Jack. Loved the seagull’s…how noisy were they!!!
Ha ha those seagulls squawking away remind me of Oogie 🐈⬛
