I loved it. My only complaint, and it’s a big one, is the final fight. They should have had the sniper go into more detail about how Arnold beat him and then it would have made sense.
Was just about to say pretty much this and I honestly don't get the apparent dislike Predators gets. While I do think it's the weakest outa the first three, it's still solidly entertaining and I found it much better than Prey. The Predator was indeed absolutely awful.
This guys logic and reasoning is all over the place. Its almost like they just want a reason to not like stuff. Oh wait, i forgot i was on the internet.
I enjoyed Solo. It helped that I really didn’t think of it as a backstory for Han Solo, but rather a fun heist movie. Forcing a backstory of iconic characters tend to just ruin the character.
Star Trek ( 2009 ) Leonard McCoy getting his nickname Bones because his wife took everything in a divorce when clearly he got the nickname Bones because he was a doctor.
Let's just say this, hollywood thinks movie-goers are stupid and willing to part with their money for whatever is on the big screen. I can't see how this industry can sustain itself by consistently wasting money with negative returns.
Hollywood is usually right about people being stupid. All the top movies of 2024 are member berry movies. "Remember Wolverine? Remember the Wicked musical? Remember Moana and Inside Out? Remember Dune?" Leaving this comment on the ones that don't work is itself dumb, right?
All they had to do for Terminator Genesis is make a movie about the terminators going after the top leaders other than John in the rebellion, and darken it down to the level of the first one and it probably would have done pretty well. they wanted to ride the high of T2, and instead of making a good story, tried to se.xulaize it
I think Alien Romulus should have replaced Covenant on the list. Aside from a few good scenes the second half of Romulus was mostly recreating iconic parts of the four original movies and even used a few of the older movie dialog lines that just made it cringe worthy. Plus bringing back a dead actor through CGI for half the movie was probably a bad idea and disrepectful in my opinion.
Dragon Ball Evolution Justin Chatwin as American Goku was weaker than Homer Simpson In The Simpsons Movie with Power Rangers level bullies that "make me pay Geeko" line belongs In a Saturday morning cartoon not a Dragon Ball live action movie
I do like her in Creed. She was totally miscasts as Valkyrie though, which was a clear DEI casting. Can't even remember her in anything else. I've forgotten she was in MIB:I.
Im not saying that MIB: INTERNATIONAL was enjoyable BUT i can't figure out why it didn't work. I respectfully can't imagine that Taika is what made Chris & Tessa work so well together
I don't necessarily mind sequels, or prequels. I think it's ridiculous to believe that every movie should be a one-off, with no continuation before or after it. On the other hand, I am so sick of remakes.
I hated the 2014 TMNT so much that I never even bothered with the 2016 one, which is a shame because I was looking forward to the big-screen debut of Krang, Bebop, Rocksteady, the Technodrome, etc, but those movies ruined those. For the most part, I actually liked Solo!
I feel like pixels should have never been made using the oldest videogame characters from the 70s/80s. I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere in Hollywood, someone really wants to make a pacman or qbert movie, but how can you? It was never meant to be made to a feature length film. It would've suffered the same way the live action super Mario bros movie, best to just not do it.
Abrams' Star Trek trilogy was a creative failure on every level, trashing a forty year mythos; Leonard Nimoy brought the 'gravitas', but the movies were too flimsy to bear that weight.
odd that this list included the prometeus & covenant movies in the Alien part, I'd say Romolus went a lot harder on the nostalgia, i appreciate the return to form the movie took but really, almost every noteworthy storybeat and several shots you can put side by side with some from the original movies and it's almost the same. If it was just some callbacks it would just be nostaliga bait but it has SOOO many callbacks to the earlier movies, I mean, if you've seen resurrection you've already pretty much spoiled the ending for yourself the moment early on in the movie when a pregnancy is mentioned, since i can't be the only one seeing that "plot twist" coming from lightyears away the moment it was mentioned in a alien movie..
Whilst always loving the work you guys do, with entertaining and well contrived presentations. This vid was no different and the Titled Focus was particularly moreso of worth. No whilst going with most, I personally was actually a huge fan of the Alien Continuity moving im attendance of the Search for Answering of Existential Matters of Substance. Do however have to admit that the particular fashion in which the Second iteration of David's Story was carried out, still maintaining the Essence of what I'd gladly have embraced, were incorrectly undertaken with far too many erroneous choices such as the elected Final Cut delivered. I am thoroughly glad for Alvarez pulling off a fantastic Life Breathing Infusion that availed the Horror grit we all else-wise adore... But moreover, now I feel, affording Sir Ridley some viable means of completing the Original Ideology which his Plan initially entailed. Given a proper knock at that door, may at last eventualize, some melded Horror that can express amd convey the Intellectual Premise with Semantics that we know Sir Scott had predetermined. As for this Vid itself... Pure Amazing Accuracy. They've failed us in terms of All of those wrongful endeavors, clearly being Cash Grab attempts with zero investment in Service Delivery of Merit
D&d 2 had it's moments but they were mostly early and most of the movie was just boring. I think it started quite well i liked that they tried to give a reason as to why this movie was made so much later by attributing it to a prank inside the movie but the last time I laughed was when the cat ate all the birds and that was very early in the movie.
Whatculture forgets that Ghostbusters 2016 was noted for being politically far left (all female cast, all male cast insulted and degraded). And that Thompson is a bad actress at best. Solo, another far left flick, was shown up repeatedly IN HIS OWN FLICK by a female costar nobody (plus it was boring).
Terminator 3 was just a rehash of Terminator 2, more so than Genesis, but with better graphics, that franchise doomed itself the moment they decided to follow up T2 with anything but the war itself in the future, Salvation had the right of it but by then people didn't take the franchise seriously anymore.
Everybody does NOT love ”Independence day”. I for one hate it, and have done so since 1996. It’s just big, dumb and cringy, its most impressive feature being the fact that not even such an incredibly likeable lead trio as Will Smith, Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldblum is able to lift it above bloated disasterpiece status.
Predators was great. The Predator was true failure.
I agree. I thought it was the same exactly what a predator film should be
At least Prey was good
I loved it. My only complaint, and it’s a big one, is the final fight. They should have had the sniper go into more detail about how Arnold beat him and then it would have made sense.
The predator wasn't as bad as the AvP movies
I also liked the predator more than predator 2.
Not a big fan of predator 2 concrete boogaloo
Was just about to say pretty much this and I honestly don't get the apparent dislike Predators gets. While I do think it's the weakest outa the first three, it's still solidly entertaining and I found it much better than Prey. The Predator was indeed absolutely awful.
I loved Predators.
So did I.
Same
The predator tries to be much more nostalgic than Predators and is far worse...Predators is a great movie, I love it!!😅🤗
So wrong about Predators!
Men In Black International was gifted to me as part of a radio contest and I still feel ripped off watching it
Hilarious when you get something for free and it still wasn't the cost of admission 😂
Sue them for wasting your time.
I got the first Harry Potter film in a gift pack from work and only ended up watching it because I got bored one day and had nothing better to do.
@WinstonSmith19847 lol, I'm a fan of HP but I still don't watch the first one.
@gregorymeyer1798 I think I have seen all of them now they are OK but I'm not a big fan it's my stepmother that's the Harry Potter superfan.
So there seems to be 3 issues. 1) they try to make it too similar 2) they try to make it too different and 3) they don’t have Will Smith in them.
I miss Will Smith like a slap in the face.
Star Trek ( 2009 ) Leonard McCoy getting his nickname Bones because his wife took everything in a divorce when clearly he got the nickname Bones because he was a doctor.
And Into Darkness just gave us a lame version of Wrath of Khan.
When Whatculture admits Predators is a good movie but then nit picks it to fill out their list.
4:30: I’m confused; how the hell does The Predator jeopardise the position of Predators in the canon?
Predators was awesome
What’s with the background music?? This sounds gross. Please stop.
Doesn't fit the subject at all.
Thank you. Way too loud, and not backgroundish
I LOVE PIXELS!!! That movie is awesome and pure fun.
Getouttahea!

@@tskmaster3837packing in legitimate sequels with hack job follow ups is a crime. Do not compare Dune part 2 with the rest
They’d get a better idea of what audiences want and don’t want if they could account for repeat viewings of films by audience members.
I enjoy pixels

I really like this concept you have here. That sounds like a film I would enjoy watching.

Normally I'd agree with the last part but they did get permission from his estate before using his likeness
Dragon Ball Evolution Justin Chatwin as American Goku was weaker than Homer Simpson In The Simpsons Movie with Power Rangers level bullies that "make me pay Geeko" line belongs In a Saturday morning cartoon not a Dragon Ball live action movie
Tessa Thompson was forced on us everytime Hollywood had a chance for a while, and I'm so happy that seems to finally be over.
I do like her in Creed. She was totally miscasts as Valkyrie though, which was a clear DEI casting. Can't even remember her in anything else. I've forgotten she was in MIB:I.
@@Deznaj666 She was absolutely great as Valkyrie in the third film. Sucked in the fourth, but the film wasnt great.
This is a very Hemsworth (3) Emilia Clarke (2) heavy list. Just saying.
Has anyone ever said “There’s too much originality! I want more familiarity and nostalgia!”? (Jokingly asking)
Hellboy the Crooked man was a crooked show. It used our yearning for Del Toro's classics to sell its own cheap dollar store version.
It looked like a fan movie. Can't believe they did that to the character.
I’ve yet to see Hellboy: The Crooked Man, but I find it difficult to imagine it being worse than the 2019 film.
@@Nosmo90 it's up there. Maybe worse.
That film was an ashcan copy
Independence Day 2026, 30 years later, Will Smith returns.
That's gonna definitely slap audiences into admiration 😁👍🏻
Every predator movie had merit except the predator. TMNT is simply underrated and pixels tried its best and solo could have been so dope
Im not saying that MIB: INTERNATIONAL was enjoyable BUT i can't figure out why it didn't work. I respectfully can't imagine that Taika is what made Chris & Tessa work so well together
They build a movie around these two and it didn't work at all.
@Deznaj666 RAGNAROK DISAGREES!😉
I enjoyed the Ghostbusters reboot. I really developed an affection for it after I read the comic spin offs. Those were great.
Bad movies are just Bad movies. Woke makes them even worse.
They really just need to stop making sequels, prequels and reboots. Just go back to being original!
I hate modern Hollywood.
Making sequels should be a capital offense.
You chose the wrong Predator movie to be on this list. The 2018 Predator movie tried to mine nostalgia and failed miserably.
Pixels? What? Yeah, it's a little Sandler-y, but so what? It's still great.
I don't necessarily mind sequels, or prequels. I think it's ridiculous to believe that every movie should be a one-off, with no continuation before or after it.

Josh from WhatCulture is literally my biggest crush.

So, this video was recorded pre-Covid. Good to know.
I would love to have seen Lord and Millers original version of Solo before they decided to change direction and bring in Ron Howard
ehrenreich said they basically wrote han like ace ventura. howard's version wasn't great but lord and miller's sounded worse.
Some of this movies are okay. You guy just put stuff on a list for no reason.
This movie so you only have a problem with one of them.
Chapters, please! It is incredibly annoying when people are not doing chapters in youtube videos.
They won't do it. People have been asking for several years now. They just don't care.
I'll take everything Disney has put out for Star Wars for $1000 please Alex.
Predators is the best movie on this list hands down.
I actually liked it more than the original tho the original will still be my 2nd favorite.
