@@harderairbrush I have been an airbrush beginner for over a year, I own the Silverline M and the new Ultra 2024 and I think they are really great, I have had them since December 2023, I watched a lot of your videos last year and it helped me a lot to learn how to use them properly, I would like to thank you for that and for your very good explanations in the videos. I have a question about the Ultra 2024, when I bought the Ultra 2024 I also bought an FPC valve from H&S, of course, unfortunately I had to find out that with the air valve the trigger no longer goes all the way open and air goes through, this has also happened to others who have the new Ultra 2024 and had an FPC valve connected, and others who have tested it. It would be great if H&S could take a look at it, I would be very grateful for that, or if H&S could bring out a suitable FPC valve. I thank you in advance for your effort.

@@harderairbrush Hi Warrick, I received the airbrush a week or so ago but only opened it yesterday, as that was my birthday. Unfortunately, when I took it out of the box and pulled uneven. I thought it might just be my imagination and went to plug it into the compressor .When I sprayed I saw that the paint release was delayed on the trigger. I inspected the nozzle under a macro lens and saw that the rim was defective. You can see the damage marks on the needle aswel from being pushed past the abnormality. I assume in the factory it was pushed too far past the abnormality which caused it to seal but also cause the initial problem of the needle needing to be pulled further back to let liquid through. I appreciate the focus on refining your skills before upgrading parts on this airbrush. I have the Ultra 2024, and am still working on building my skill level with the airbrush. Thank you for the opportunity to upgrade this brush when the time is right.
Yes I really believe that having a product line that is structured to provide progression is a better solution than just lots of similar airbrushes which are not clearly for one purpose or another. All airbrushers paint small things whether they paint them into big things or small things, and so it makes much more sense to me to structure our product line in terms of progression rather than application. W
I seriously was going to relegate this to the back of a drawer because of the heavy trigger. Today I got the replacement Evo trigger and spring, followed your instructions and wow, what a difference. Well worth doing. Thank you.
I admit, I'm still learning the proper dilution and use of the III setting on my ultra. and I finally think I'm getting there. I've used the Ultra for almost everything over my original airbrush to the point that I've done experiments of painting faces only using the airbrush. the idea of a slightly smaller cup sounds amazing as does the use of the head for a closer distance and the back flush for mixing paint in the cup. I love my Ultra and these upgrades sound amazing. going to keep practicing before updating the head and the cup. Still amazed that my mother got me the Ultra for my birthday. Again awesome news from you guys.

I've had the new Ultra 2024 since December 2023 and I think it's really great. When I bought the new Ultra 2024 I also bought an FPC valve. Unfortunately, I discovered that the Ultra 2024 doesn't work with the FPC valve and air is constantly flowing through. My question is: will H&S solve this problem or bring out an FPC air valve for the Ultra 2024? Everyone who owns the new Ultra 2024 and wanted to connect an FPC valve reports the same problem.
For back flowing my ultra 2024 I've been able to just loosen the head slightly, maybe an eighth or quarter turn at most, and then simply give it some air without pulling the trigger back. This can be a little aggressive and result in some paint splatter (especially since there is no lid available for the 5ml cup - something I'd love to see), so experiment with just some water and consider dialing down the air pressure a bit while doing so.
Great video as usual. Are there any other benefits to adding the evolution 0.45 head system onto the Ultra other than the ability for backflow? With the needles/heads being the same size, what other differences are there? Thanks.
In the short term, I have had good luck with my original ultra with using a make-up sponge squeezed over the head and then carefully back flowing. Works solid. I do look forward to an Evolution type head that I could put on my Ultra. Love the idea of a freer trigger.
I love my Ultra. Just like many others, I upgraded from a cheap 50 buck airbrush from Amazon and the Ultra has been an amazing and unbelievable step up in quality and use. Small thing (which could be entirely my fault): I did need to replace the needle and nozzle assembly quite early. As far as I've been able to tell there was no needle bending (i'm careful with it) but for some reason it started to have difficulty with pushing paint through. Of course, I thin my paints / use airbrush paints and cleaned it thoroughly with airbrush cleaner and even alcohol and the cleaning kit but to no avail. I wasn't able to find the exact same nozzle that the Ultra comes with, so I eventually went and bought the 0.4mm Evo nozzle and needle kit which works wonders as well and is far easier to clean in my opinion as you can take it apart further. Anyway, great product and I love these videos! 10/10 would recommend.
Buddy you must have damaged that first one... it is definitely easier to live with the new one! Although if you're ready for it, take the 2024 Evolution headsets, now available. W
@@harderairbrush Hey thanks for the reply! I do think I may have damaged the previous nozzle, but I wrote it down as a learning experience. So yeah, like I mentioned I bought the Evolution nozzle and needle kit and it works wonders! I'm very happy to see such parts be interchangeable and this video inspired me to think about if I want to change the trigger as well in the future. The softer feedback seems great for longer painting sessions (like priming and basecoating an entire army).
There are quite a few of us having issues with the ultra 2024. I stopped using mine months ago due to the clogging every 30 secs. Gonna try Iwata instead.
Honestly, buddy, if you're clogging after 30 seconds, it's your process, or your paint, or both. Please watch our ULTRA Painting Process video - I really hope it helps you. And if it does, it will help you with whatever airbrush you ultimately choose to paint with. W
@harderairbrush when it clogs, I put the paint directly from the ultra into a £20 fengda airbrush with a 0.2mm nozzle and it works with no clogs......
Can't you undo the spring screw just a bit to decrease the trigger tension ? With my Ultra 2024 I do struggle with up close details because the trigger is stiff and I'm having trouble spraying small quantity of paints with quick short bursts.
Hello, nice upgrade tutorial. I am about to purchase one of two airbrushes I considered, this Ultra 2024 and the iwata Eclipse cs. I can see many use the iwata, but I like going with the underdog, so I am buying this Ultra 2024. I cannot say I am an expert on airbrushing, I began last year using an old but new (from storage) Badger 200, and a Master G233. I mostly paint 1/48 scale model jets, and 1/24 cars, and I like a sorta wide spray pattern. I can't say I like the performances of these two current airbrushes, which is why I researched again, and find the engineering of this brush to be quite spectacular. I'm hoping it meets my painting requirements. Thx.
I've actually managed to find a rubber cap from an old airbrush needle storage tube that fits over the Ultra nozzle and seals it, allowing for easy backflow mixing even with the new nozzle.
Personally I'm glad it can't back flow. As the nozzle stops me from smashing the needle which I invariably would do and I can clean it just fine. It's my first real airbrush and it's amazing.
I recently purchased the ultra 2024, and it sprayed really bad and bubbled up in the cup on arrival. I then used chapstick to seal the threads of the nozzle. And it solved everything, could you maybe address these problems as i was lost upon my airbrushes arrival.
After watching all you vids for when I was buying a new air brush you convinced me to buy this ultra and it is fantastic and I’m learning every time I use it. But if any one here can advise me. I have a couple of issues when spraying on full paint gathers at the tip and drips or splatters on to my work also sometimes while painting air bubbles in the paint. Any ideas why please
Hey Marc - thanks for joining us! Two easy solutions :-) keep your needle tip clean as per the ULTRA Painting Process video and for the bubbles - just make sure that your head is done up to a good finger tight torque and that will ensure you don’t have any air leakage into your paint. Keep in touch! W
Kudos for offering sensible upgrades that, lets be honest, you were in no way obliged to. My U24 and I are still getting to know one another so your encouragement of gaining experience before getting ahead of ourselves is also appreciated. I'd love to see a Nanobot Tip Cleaning Kit. The nanobots don't clean the needle but measure and compare trigger, needle & flow data then apply an electric shock to my person before a blockage occurs 😁 Cheers!
Hey H&S team, I bought a 0,4 needle with a crown hat (I think it was from the Evo line) in addition to the standard hat of the Ultra 2024. By accident, I mixed up the needles and don't know which one is 0,4 and which one is 0,45 anymore :D Any way to distinguish them from each other besides a very fine caliper? :D
the trick to backflow your airbrush is a small cap. my compressor came with 2 cheap brushis and a bunch of neadels and nozzels. i use one of thise nozzel storige cup. if u cut a pipet so it seats on to the taperd eadge of the main boddy that shud wor let to. love my ultra bay the way and cant wait to buy theas upgreade in a year or 2 when my skill is a hole lot better.
Is it possible to get just a softer spring for the Ultra 2024? I'm fine with the trigger, but i would just like like a software spring because i have RSI in my hands. 2nd question. If i just want the head from the evo, can i buy that the .45 evo head and use the .45 needle that came with my ultra? or are the needles different and i need to specifically get the full kit even if they are the same size?
I live in Colorado which is really dry and I find my tip gets dry paint on almost immediately. I am cleaning quite frequently. Using airbrush thinner and water to thin the paints (about 1:1 for airbrush style paints) but that seems to make little difference. Any suggestions? Been considering another tip protector for my Ultra to make that process easier.
When you're in a low humidity environment, using only water to thin the paint can help tremendously. Try that and let us know! Thin it a touch more, too. W
I have an earlier Ultra, is it possible to add the beginner Ultra 2024 parts to it? Although I bought it a couple of years ago I have not used it yet and am a complete novice.
We think that after progressing past the beginner stage the user will probably want to delete the double action teaching facility from the trigger, hence recommending the Evo trigger as the progression option. It also allows a lighter spring action 👍🏻 W
I have the two of them the New Ultra and the Evolution 2024 and I find it much easier to clean the ultra. Don’t know if it’s the smaller cup that so much time to get the paint out of the nozzle…
I ordered my Ultra2024 to start increasing my airbrush skills (starter testing with some cheap Chinese pistols) I got an Evolution from an colleague. Can I merge my „old“ evolution with the new Ultra2024?
Honestly i am really confused. I have the ultra 2024 but i would like another airbrush for more detailed jobs. Can't decide if i should just buy the evolution 2024/upgrade my ultra for 0.28 nozzle or wait for the infinity 2024 (not sure if it will be released this year).
I love your Ultra Airbrush and use it quite often. My only problem with it is that every time I try to use the "noob-ring's" different settings, no paint comes out. I always have to use it in "free trigger mode", which is a shame when I want to paint smaller details.
@@MusicMinisterJP7 its the attachment you have on the Ultra behind the trigger. It can limit the backward movement depending on the setting you choose. Exampe: you want to prime, you turn it to priming. You want to base? Turn to base. The ring, if it would work, helps you to get the right amount of air for the right task. I have tested it with different airpressures and paints, but it just doesn't work as intended.
Literally the day after I order an evolution because I miss being able to black flush on my ultra 2024. BTW I bought off your website and white buying brushed is easy, being able to buy parts , see list of but not option to buy them.
I've had my first airbrush, Ultra 2024 for 8 months now and, sadly, the trigger mechanism is failing, and what seems to be a design/engineering issue. Specifically, the little lever that holds the trigger forward falls out of the grooves in the trigger it's supposed to slide in. As a result, not only can I pull the trigger without pushing it, but the trigger doesn't sit properly in the airbrush that seems to cause the paint coming out of the airbrush when the trigger is only pushed, not pulled. As a side note, original spring is really way too stiff. It takes a couple months to learn to control the trigger without the ring, at which time longer painting sessions become really tiring.
Either way, I'm honestly disappointed with the purchase. I thought I did enough research, I trusted the brand and stellar reviews on YT, but just a few months in, the airbrush is broken due to what clearly is the manufacturing issue, and the hard spring makes long, precise work pretty much impossible. =(
Hey buddy - thanks for writing in... Firstly, if paint is coming out when the trigger is pushed only, then you most likely have a damaged nozzle. Check that first please - it is not likely to be the trigger. If the trigger isn't sitting properly, I'd like to see a video/ picture of that so that I can help you better. Email me at wjs@harder-airbrush.de please... With regard to the spring... this was done this way, because our test groups found that the higher level of feedback during the learning phase was really useful to keep the front part of the trigger movement easily under control... For very fine detailing, and lots of it, you're right - the Ultra is not optimised for that. It's optimised to make a positive start for beginners. It will certainly deliver detail, like all our brushes, but it's optimised for the start of your painting journey. If you'd like to back off the spring tension and have an easier trigger, then I would say that you're ready to put an EVO trigger in there (712350) this gives you a lighter spring and a trigger which deletes the double action teaching feature, which allows this lighter spring. I look forward to your email. W
Good to know but I want to know when the review of the next Infinity you tease us now for months ^^ You said it's awersome with lots of new feature !!!! Can't wait XP
Hello Mr. Warwick Love my 24 evolution could you please give a release date for the new Infinity I along with many others are patiently waiting for the day. I truly love the adaptability of the H & S brand my definite go to airbrush.
Hey Gary - it's Septh 25th... take a look at our Instagram - there's more information on there, and also go ahead and sign up for the pre-release... bit.ly/3AJETgs
I got the Squidmar Ultra, not sure which model year that is exactly, but I have to say the head sucks. Dried paint collects in the stupid holes and it’s super annoying to clean - especially since you can’t even take it off without emptying the cup first. I’ll have to try the Evo head.
Have you watched the ULTRA painting process video? I will link it here... you will not suffer those problems at all if you use our process. Also, there is no airbrush that you can remove the head from without emptying the paint out without creating lots of mess. I'd suggest getting back to basics and learning our process: very simple, fast, and easy :-) and I'm sure you'll find everything goes much better as a result, whatever the airbrush... W th-cam.com/video/J9PL5tT8BsQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fqKNEADV_uMSJX7F
Ah I get you - you mean the needle cap. Yes, you can this this with the EVOLUTION 2024 head system. The ULTRA head system is designed to have the three H&S head characteristics i.e. you can see the needle, you can clean the needle, but the needle is always protected. The ULTRA interprets this with maximal protection, and this becomes lower as you progress up through the three models, up to the upcoming INFINITY 2024, where the protection is minimal, but the access is maximal. Hope that makes more sense for you now! W
The Ultra 2024 is a nice piece but unfortunately the hard spring makes it unusable if you want to do fine details or use it for longer than 10 minutes.
I deeply respect the fact that you’re encouraging us to take our time in learning before making any upgrading moves. I love my Ultra, and it’s only been a week with it! Thank you H&S!

My cup collected some scratches from the compression fit so I am hyped to get a new one
Another helpful video, expanding the range of the Ultra is a great stepping stone too👍😊✌️
Thanks bud! W
@@harderairbrush ✌️👍😊
Can't you undo the spring screw just a bit to decrease the trigger tension ? With my Ultra 2024 I do struggle with up close details because the trigger is stiff and I'm having trouble spraying small quantity of paints with quick short bursts.
If you’re willing to do without the double action teaching feature then order 712350 which will get you the EVO2024 trigger and spring. W
Thx.
Thanks so much for joining us buddy! W
I've actually managed to find a rubber cap from an old airbrush needle storage tube that fits over the Ultra nozzle and seals it, allowing for easy backflow mixing even with the new nozzle.
This is just what I was looking for, thank you! 👍🏻
Great! Thank you for letting us know.
W
Amazingly helpful video, thankyou H&S! I just need the UK retailers to actually get some of the parts in stock.
Check the links in the description - there is great availability in the UK! W
I had that when I got mine but I just had to nip up the aircap a little bit more.
(Just adding this so people can try that first)
After watching all you vids for when I was buying a new air brush you convinced me to buy this ultra and it is fantastic and I’m learning every time I use it.

You want our German nanobots? They are very strict! W
@@harderairbrush So you're saying no more nozzle clogging? A worthy accessory then :p Cheers, mate.
Upgrade parts for my airbrush. Genius! I love this company. Own four different ones.
4 ultras, lmfao?!?
@@PanzerChicken69 ha ha, four different H&S models.
Thanks for being with us buddy :-) W
@@bobafett2243Than you don't need an ultra
@@PanzerChicken69 your right. already have it.
I've heard the trigger is quite strongly sprung which with my 70 year old arthritic hands may not be ideal. Is a softer spring available?
answered in the video! Thanks
Hi great videos, always informative.
When will we see the 2024 HS Infinity Airbrush?

Hey H&S team,
I bought a 0,4 needle with a crown hat (I think it was from the Evo line) in addition to the standard hat of the Ultra 2024.
Awesome tip. Thanks so much for joining us and glad that you're loving your ULTRA 2024. W
Take part 712350... the answer is yes, the needles are the same. Hope that helps! W
@@harderairbrush thanks!
Any news on the FPC valve for the ultra 2024? I would prefer one that matches my black and gold ultra but one that works would be extremely helpful.
We've got a video for that :-) W

Hi !
The halfmoons at the triggers are different. Isn’t it necessary to put the Ultra halfmoon at the Evo Trigger ?
We think that after progressing past the beginner stage the user will probably want to delete the double action teaching facility from the trigger, hence recommending the Evo trigger as the progression option. It also allows a lighter spring action 👍🏻
W
I have the two of them the New Ultra and the Evolution 2024 and I find it much easier to clean the ultra. Don’t know if it’s the smaller cup that so much time to get the paint out of the nozzle…
I ordered my Ultra2024 to start increasing my airbrush skills (starter testing with some cheap Chinese pistols)
I got an Evolution from an colleague.
Video on the new INFINITY 2024 coming VERY soon... or check our Instagram... and sign up here... W

I love your Ultra Airbrush and use it quite often. My only problem with it is that every time I try to use the "noob-ring's" different settings, no paint comes out. I always have to use it in "free trigger mode", which is a shame when I want to paint smaller details.
I'm having this problem too 🤷♂️
Yep same. On any setting other than full send it clogs within seconds and this is despite being well thinned with the correct thinners.
Hi, what do youmeanby, or are "noob-rings"?
@4535jacks and what is "full-send", and what are the other settings? Is this Airbrush good for general model painting with that .45 tip?
@@MusicMinisterJP7 its the attachment you have on the Ultra behind the trigger. It can limit the backward movement depending on the setting you choose. Exampe: you want to prime, you turn it to priming. You want to base? Turn to base. The ring, if it would work, helps you to get the right amount of air for the right task. I have tested it with different airpressures and paints, but it just doesn't work as intended.
Im going in on the .28 setup. The only thing i disliked on the 24 was not having a blowback capability

@@harderairbrush I can remove the crown from my Iwatas without emptying the cup…
…but I’ll check out the video, thanks for the tip.
It's so hard to watch this guy, he's like my dad's secret twin without the Irish accent.
Other than that, he really knows his shit.
Haha brilliant. Favourite comment so far 😂
