Thanks for uploading this, I was Gravesend born and bred, now live in the North east , brought back so many memories of the shops that no longer exist, and how its changed from the 60s when I was a kid. Fond memories of my family and friends in tough but happy times .

2:55 I remember exactly when that bypass was being built. The bridge at the bottom of Vale Road was demolished as part of the new road system. I love my Gravesend as I was growing up 👍🏾

Thank you many memories of Gravesend in the 60s and 70s especially the Waterfront area; them Pilot Launches waking us up when we were swining on a buoy nearby plus that Wash cripes nearly tipped us out off our bunks

@0:37 that looks like the Doctor Lykes, IMO any of the Lykes boats were always a good sight on the river.

I remember the old sea school down the prom. When it shut the homeless moved in. The only thing left is the old lifeboat Davits. I went to the new Peanut school in 78

Hello Neil. Have you ever heard about a serial killer named Patrick Mackay who lived in Gravesend (Frobisher Way) in the 60's and 70's?

I lived there from 1962 to 1977 remember all, anyone remember the swimming pool? Were you an abc minor on Saturday morning, the fireless locomotives at Reed paper Mill. We move on, but do not forget.

Simes. Bought all fishing accessories there. Amazing when you think how much money has been spent on the area. But in my opinion, the area is far worse. Council continue cramming people in. Wouldn't wamt to ruin where they live i suppose.
