    Great video! I would love to see more like it. Doom guitar is horribly underrepresented on TH-cam, and in guitar instructional materials as a whole, so this was awesome.

      Agreed, this is an insane video. Frayle puts out a lot of top tier content. Just pause for a minute and look at the setup he has there. Honestly a shame more people don't appreciate it.

    Grandma wouldn't let me listen to Frayle after Thanksgiving dinner.
    Love the band and the black house.

    Enjoyed the video. You have a really cool doomy tone that I thoroughly enjoy when listening to Frayle. I also like to keep it simple which makes the riff more stonier and doomy. I can't wait until the next Frayle album.

    14:52 Every part of this video is great. I’d watch hours of this kind of material.
    I came hear from the GT1 video where I noticed the upstrokes and the space you leave with your right hand. The “less notes, more interesting” idea is the sound in my head, but I’m still trying to figure out how to play it. I need to go work on my vibrato and watch this video ten more times.

    Awesome video! I've always just been playing doom metal covers, but your video and insights to writing song writing just made me pick up the guitar and try it on my own! Thanks! Sick tones too!

    I love simple riffs and the fact that one doesn't have to know everything about scales and such and can still lay down some killer riffs,if you get time I would love a here's how to play our song video , could I suggest 1692 or gods of no faith? I like the amp selection to,do you use 2 amps now? I myself use a orange rockerverb 50 (effects) and a soldano hot rod (dry) I also use a 4x12 and a 2x12(loaded with emenenice basslites for the low end)

    Thanks for sharing. What would you recommend to make an amp with rats chug a bit more? I’m playing a Sunn Model T, v1/v2.

    • @frayleband
      @frayleband  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      IMO rats don’t really chug all that well. They are a bit too thick. I prefer this as I don’t really chug all that often. You would need a more “metal” pedal to get your Model T to chug.

    Very cool, very informative! And, thanks for keeping it simple with 'tab talk'! I also really liked the pedal board tour. I find it very interesting to see how people route their signal, and what goes in or out of the FX Loop. Can't wait to try to learn some of your riffs now! So, for a question: I know 'Doom' generally stays in fairly standard tunings, and drop tunings. But since you're down in Drop B, have you thought about or already experimented with going lower, like to B or A standard, utilizing Baritone guitars? Or perhaps extended range with a 7 String to keep the Drop B, but give you an extra high string to mess with? (or, I guess with a 7 in Drop B you'd 'gain' two extra strings, kinda.) And finally: Cauldron of Gain! That needs to be a T-Shirt or something! (edit to correct my mistake: you're in Drop B, not B Std)

    Hi, thanks for the video. Do you think those "british sounding" amps are a must for playing doom guitar riffs, or is it more a personal choice for you?

    • @frayleband
      @frayleband  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Orange heads are my personal favorite…. But there truly are no rules when it comes to music. If it feels right, then it’s right.
      “Doom” is about both the notes AND the space in between the notes. Thinner amps on their own are weak in the spaces in between, but this can be fixed with a Rat pedal or some fuzz.

  • @brycet1505

    transmisser or the afterneath v3, which do you prefer?

    • @frayleband
      @frayleband  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Afterneath is way more versatile, and is my favorite and most used pedal.

    • @brycet1505
      @brycet1505 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@frayleband Awesome. I was leaning toward the afterneath as a reverb to go straight into the front of my amp. The transmisser sounds cool, but i can tell there's more to the afterneath. I've got a dba rooms for the backend of my main amp, but one of my amps lacks an fx loop. The pladask draume is interesting, but maybe too much for what i need. That probably settles it for me. Thanks.
