Corcovado, oh how lovely. Interestingly, our ears pay more attention to softly sung words than it does to loud music. I would love to visit Brazil where they still play the Bossa Nova. I think it is the most romantic music and I have listened to music from all over the world. This song is about a beautiful place somewhere in Brazil. It is so peaceful there according to the song.
Corcovado is the name of the mountain in Rio de Janeiro on top of which stands the statue of Christ the Redeemer.

I'm a Brazilian, currently living out of Brazil, and I'm crying my eyes out now, hearing foreigners performing our music so beautifully in times where our country is known for its disgraceful choices. I'm writing in 2020, of course. Knowing we can still offer some good to the world touches me deeply.

Na verdade, mais tristeza, em testemunhar que a nossa bossa nova não é devidamente valorizada e tampouco conhecida pelo seu próprio povo. A alegria, por sua vez, está em saber que a bossa foi entregue ao mundo, e ele a reconhece e a valoriza.

Una verdadera delicia escuchar a principios del 2021 la Bossa Nova. En mis tiempos jóvenes estuve un par de años en Sao Paulo y me tocó escuchar en vivo a Tom Jobim, Joao Gilberto, Vinicius de Moraes, Gal Costa, Elis Regina, Toquinho y tantos otros, Aun en mi retiro sigo escuchando regularmente esta música y me permito felicitar a Nova por sus interpretaciones. Supongo que es una artista estadounidense o canadiense, pues aunque canta muy bien en portugués, su pronunciación de ciertas palabras con la letra T combinada con la i las dice como en español, no como los brasileños.
Obrigado por divulgar nossa música. Moro no Brasil mas aqui tá difícil. Só porcaria!!!
