I'm Brazilian and although Brazilian Portuguese certainly stands out as a very melodic language, her very light Spanish accent provided a unique extremely sensual, suave, and charming vibe like a tinge of lemon on a cool drink on a summer day in Rio. Bravo!

Listening to this brings me profound feelings. My husband played Desafinado at almost every gig. The guitar sounded just like him. He passed away last July.

Carmen. tambien soy Colombiano pero vivi un buen tiempo en el Brasil en un proyecto para su gobierno. No solo su musica sino su poesia portuguesa con su mezcla afrolatina es la combinacion perfecta. Bossa Nova es un taladro que llega bastante profundo.
Portuguese has to be the most beautiful language in the world. I was enthralled back in the early '70's, hearing Jobim's music. Have most of his albums, along with a fave of mine - Stan Getz, and all he brought to the sound. I do understand a little, speaking a little Spanish ! We're so lucky to have access to these albums now. For me? It's again. I love it.

@@ChrisAn5 Yes! There is! Brazilian portuguese sounds quite different, the way the language is spoken is different, rhymes can work differently in both portuguese versions, and there are some grammar diferences between european and brazilian portuguese. I´m Brazilian by the way

"Desafinado" (how ironic that it means "off-key") has for me been *that* song since Stan Getz and Charlie Byrd recorded it back in the early 60's. I think I must have heard every recorded version since then, and now this... Elio Carletti, the Italian impressionist, once said that “Beauty is a summation of the parts where nothing needs to be altered, added, or taken away.” By that definition, the NOVA version is pure Beauty. Beleza, Encantamento, Perfeição. Obrigado do meu coração, NOVA.

Nice version, congrats. Altough we have nowadays more accumulated than bossa, its understandable how this stream impacted the musical scenario of the world and keeps strong. Just like jazz, a jazz cousin, brother or son, no matter. All western as a stage is impeessive with all varieties. I love my hemisphere, and u guys makes us still proud of it.
The cool thing about his is that this singer does not belt out the sound and ruin the song.. Her style and energy and volume perfectly matches what is needed to complement these musicians... LOVE IT!!! I love the percussion as well...

Totally agree.. Jobim himself set that culture by only contributing a couple of delicious, barely audible notes on piano with one hand (i think i was in this song?).. He wrote it..he could have chopped out to showcase himself..but no, not the spirit bossa.
