I honestly think that no 'knobby' rear tyre will find good consistent traction on a bike with high horsepower and torque; The best we can hope for really is that it lasts and doesn't spit knobs off while giving reasonable good traction and feedback; That aside, I like your review style; No fluff, No hype just One mans honest take on a product he uses without endorsement. Cheers
@@onthebackwheel The tubeless RalZ & DV are good on the road, a bit noisy though. A lot of riders in Oz are using this combo with different motorcycles due to the long distances and the great wear rate of the RalZ
21' front DV and 18' rear RALLZ both tubed on Africa Twin. 90% dirt and they perform great, have flipped front once and about to do again. Did a black top trip to Tassie and switched the front out to a more road based tyre Michelin Anakee Adventure as the DV is really vague and squirmy when pushed. Kept the rear Rallz and it performed ok but did let go on corner exit and tore up the bitumen! Changed my pants then the rear tyre!😂
Nice one, Curtis. Keen to see what boots you slap on the 450MT. I'm just about to change mine out. Thinking of the AX41 - keen for your insights. I believe they have updated the AX41 for longer wear.
Great review. I’m still on the Mitas combo - E07 front, and E07+ rear, which continue to serve all purposes well…although the rear seems to be squaring off a bit. Fascinated to see what you put on the MT once the OEM ones are done.
Ha... I just bought a set for my Africa twin for my trip around Australia off-road.... I have the Tractionator and it is an ok tyre but as mentioned about the Rallz not super great on the road in the wet....
I’m running Golden tyre GT823 on the 450MT and they’re great offroad, the front is lasting really well and the rear is getting low but i reckon I’ll get another 1000klm after doing 4,500 now 👍🏻
@ no tubes, I feel like I only put them on not long ago but after looking at the odometer I was like these are actually pretty good wearing. I was thinking of a motoz rear next but I might go another GT as I quite like it.
I'm running GT823s on My T7, 3,500ks and the front still looks new, the rear has only lost a few mills.. very good on the fire trail stuff. Easy to fit aswell at home, the factory pirelli rear was a real bitch to pop the bead even after I rode it for a while to heat it up.. I though they must have glued it on haha.
Good video! I've heard the exact same thing about these tires. I have a Motoz Adventure rear, and a Bridgestone Battle AX 41 front I'm going to put on my Honda Africa Twin. I hope they do well. I'm hoping the rear will be my go to,and I'll probably play with the front tire. The dual venture will be the one I try next. Like I said I like your tire content.
Cheers mate. I didn't mind the ax41 front. Ultimately not enough off road performance for me but has good road feel and will pair well with the adventure rear
@@onthebackwheel Oh very cool to know. The only reason I went with it is because I thought it was more performance oriented. I'll check it out and go with the dual venture next time.
I had Motoz Tractionator Rallz’s on my previous bike. They are awesome off road, better on road than they initially feel and they last, just a bit noisy. Hell no problem as I wear custom ear plugs. Once my current tyres wear down I’ll have no hesitation to put on Rallz’s again.
I had them on my 650 V Strom which I sold late last year. Front 110/80 R19. Now riding a 2010 XT660R, which is lighter and more capable off tarmac. I pickup my 450MT in 2 weeks time, when I return from my VIC highland tour. I’m keenly watching your upgrade videos. 👍👍✌️
I sent in my bike for Suspension rework. Got way to soft on the back. Going to 7.0 springs (Tenere springs ironically) I run Hidenau K60 Scouts but I am thinking of going Ranger in the back
I have the Rallz on the rear of my 23' 701 Enduro and had a DV on the front, but quickly removed the front as it did not suit the bike and/or my riding style (aggressive). The DV front would have to be the worst front I have ever ridden. I now have a Mitas E9 trail on the front and it is night and day the difference to the DV. The DV was just plain scary on loose gravel/hard pact stuff, which I ride a lot here in QLD.
I'll be in the market for new tyres soon to replace the stockies on my CF Moto 450MT. I have no idea what to get yet but want something a lot better off road than what I have. With that in mind I I still need to get to places on the road and don't mind doing longer rides on the road to get somewhere.
I had the same setup except I had the tubed front and rear. I had a smaller rear on my KLR650 and it is significantly more aggressive treat pattern. The front DV tubed would give me head shake on some paved surfaces above 70 mph. I live in rural west Texas so backroads are 75 mph posted speed limit. Between the head shake and poor wet weather performance I think these tires are overrated on TH-cam. The head shake( death wobble) is probably KLR specific. Good tires but for the price I moved on. That’s for the review!
I have the GPS on the back at the moment and the strip up the middle is a bit average off road. It just doesn't get the hook up that I'd like in some of the dirt. The dual venture on the front is great.
The way you ride, I should get 10,000k out of mine. I ummed n ahed about the Dual venture, in the end I went with Rallz front and rear. Had such a hard time getting the factory CEATs off, even just breaking the bead, (& there tubed) that when it came to fitting the front 21" Rallz it was a breeze but the rear 17" was a bit of work, but not as bad as the older 606 I removed/installed on the KLX, after a rim clean & then balance. Could not find a rim lock for the Himmys wide rear, 2.5" was nowhere near it. Must find something, though won't air down much & at only 40hp, while I don't mind nibbling on tits, hate ripping them out. As for wear, next trip will be the judge. Cheers
Running Dual Venture front and Rallyz rear on both my 2007 BMW r1200gsa and DR650. It's fantastic in both TT and TL varieties

Yep they are the ducks guts, Been running the DV Tubeless on my R1200GS and quite pleased in the dirt.
Nice mate. How is the tubeless on the road?
I too have an R1200GS so your thoughts on the tyre are aligned with what I want from a tyre; Do you run the DV both ends?

Got 8000km on a set of motoz adventures and they are still going. They are loud but they grip offroad and last very long
