Collecting all of the tokens rewards you with the queens ruby which is a bracelet that Chloe puts on and it tells you in any situation when there is treasure nearby. You can turn it on and off in the pause menu. It'd say it's worth it.

I love the character design in this game! Neither of the girls are ridiculously pretty or endowed. They look normal, like you could see them walking around. They're both covered in mud with realistic hair and their body types are accurate for their work.
Also the voice acting. I love it. Their accents sound brilliant.

Jack, to answer your question about MREs
It stands for Meal Ready to Eat. The military uses these when military personnels are out in the field. It uses water to activate a chemical reaction that releases heat to warm up your meal. It eliminates the use of building a fire, which could show your position if you're hiding from the enemy. Learned this at an army fort from NJROTC when I was in high school.
There are other ways to heat them up as well, including burying it in sand, sitting on it or in extreme cases pissing on it. Just stating this for the record.
I learned about them in middle School got to eat one too

I'm only just watching this now, 5 years after its release, and I'm so impressed with the MoCap! The little expressions, a look here and there, a smirk that wasn't the focus of the shot, it beats the majority of games created recently, massive applause to Naughty Dog!
I would highly recommend visiting all the token locations. some have really fun puzzles that are worth trying.

JACK! Collect all of the tokens then come back to the place where you found the bracelet! There's a part where you press a button (on the controller) and the cage unlocks! The bracelet helps you find treasure by making your controller light up, vibrate, and make a noise when you're near it.

*MRE* stands for *Meal Ready to Eat* and yes it is a Military Ration... Some of them can be eaten strait from the package, but some you have to add water to. I think the snack MREs are kind of neat, you can get stuff like, turnovers and trail-mix and snack bars. So hopefully Nadine brought some of those things. :-D
Oh and the Queen's bracelet is pretty useful and you need all the tokens to get it... But I won't say why, you'll get no spoilers from me!
