  • Have you ever wondered about the beginnings of homosexuality? Get to know a little bit about the fight for equality as Wanda Sykes takes us on a journey all the way back to the Middle Ages. Now, in 2019, we get to celebrate moments like Pride Month in June and Transgender Awareness Week in November.

    Personally, as a straight person, I have learned pretty well about the unforgettable moments of the history of the LGBTQ community in the world, particularly in the United States of America. As I have heard before from people like Ellen DeGeneres, although some progress was made, there is still a long way to go in furthering the progress of the LGBTQ people in every aspect of society. Let's keep the pressure on!

  • @yiacrazy
    @yiacrazy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +79

    Yeah, but giving complete credit to Ellen coming out publicly with the cover of Time as the start of a new era... Not really accurate. More influential celebrities came out first. She wasn't even as popular as they were at the time. She is by far the most famous lesbian in this decade where others popularity have dropped dramatically. There were many brave celebrities who's strength shouldn't be diminished because their popularity did....Ellen said it was their bravery who inspired her. It's a great video with a great message, but the movement of celebrities declaring their sexually started before that magazine.... She is just the one who managed to remain the most popular across many demographics. I am grateful for her and what she's done.... She helped start many conversations between people and has been a role model and example that almost everyone has embraced.

      A relationship between a son and the father is an important bond that passes down morals and values. And with a mother, children learn how to be compassionate and empathetic. It prevents people from going overboard into a self-indulgent down spiral of dopamine rushes. Without traditional values or morals, people submit themselves to acts of pleasure of which they create their own values in order to be contempt with doing those actions. Instead of actively trying to better themselves, it's easier to be contemptuous with being sick and you can't do anything to change it. The idea you should accept everyone for who they want to be has unleashed ideological diseases that corrupt minds into a weakness.
      There are two types of people who profit from spreading disease by advertising and policies. People in power, government, and big corporations, who know it's easier to control weak-minded citizens, and the mentally ill who seek nothing but gratification from a community of like-minded degenerates, the corrupted youth. They spread it in order to fulfill a meaningless purpose of being kind with “acceptance”. It does nothing to empower to encourage people to improve themselves. They seek identification that degrades further and further. They require more gratification, it's like a drug. It's easier to create less intricated, easier to understand, and “morally correct” reasons on a foundation of “acceptance” than to explain and maintain traditional ones that have been passed down for generations. For example “love is love” is a simple and widely accepted term as “be with who you want to be with”, but where is the limit? Can people love animals? Children? How can this “love” not be a pervasive lust for a relationship from a desperate mentally ill human being?
      As time goes on, morales values corrupt the youth as there are no standards. The importance of historical figures and their lessons will in time be removed due to the disease wanting to erase the past so as to completely eradicate any possibility of a philosophical antidote arising. The fewer restrictions the disease has to go through, the more it can multiply until it destroys society. And the only ones left to profit are the people pulling the strings from positions of government that were put there by people thinking they were doing the right thing, but for all the wrong reasons

    I'm glad that they mentioned that not everything is okay nowadays, but I think they probably should have worked on it a touch more to show what else needed to be helped. As a member of the community, I can testify that quite often lgbtq+ members feel unsafe going outside for fear of what others may do to them. I am one of these members, and I can recount times I have been physically harmed or harassed because of who I am, and I'm still a teenager! Things may be better than they have ever been, but that doesn't mean things are okay just yet. I want to be safe to express who I am, but at this point, I'm not even sure if that will happen in my lifetime.

    I love this video… but Marsha p Johnson even said her self she never started the stonewall riots, Marsha came half way through, it has been noted a latino that was described by those there as ‘ maybe lesbian’ threw the first punch. Marsha also said she wasn’t a woman, Marsha says that he is a man but doesn’t fully define herself as any particular gender nouns or fashion. Marsha was one of the main people who started the pride parade movements…. Sorry to fact check but our history has been told wrong for so so so so many years I think it’s great to have real facts

And the only ones left to profit are the people pulling the strings from positions of government that were put there by people thinking they were doing the right thing, but for all the wrong reasons.
