The film also features Michael J. Pollard, Gene Hackman, and Estelle Parsons. The screenplay was written by David Newman and Robert Benton. Robert Towne and Beatty provided uncredited contributions to the script; Beatty produced the film. The soundtrack was composed by Charles Strouse.
Bonnie and Clyde is considered one of the first films of the New Hollywood era and a landmark film. It broke many cinematic taboos and for some members of the counterculture, the film was considered to be a "rallying cry." Its success prompted other filmmakers to be more open in presenting sex and violence in their films. Part of the movie was filmed in my home state and as a kid EVERY single time we drove by the spot ..my Dad would point it out and say Bonnie and Clyde was filmed there.. lol.. bless him

This movie is from 1967 and the editing and direction is AMAZING. Still works nowadays, and it’s one of the few movies in where the slow motion makes the scene more dramatic.
why are people saying its wrong, of course it wrong. its a movie. they had to make it more interesting and dramatic. its not a documentary.

One bizarre aspect of this incident in real life is that one of the police officers tried to just keep the death car after this because it was so famous, but the real owner of the car - who Bonnie & Clyde stole it from - was able to claim in legally. She then drove it home to where she lived in another state, still full of holes and with broken windows and lots of splattered blood.
.45 low velocity and .30 high velocity and that was death for Bonnie and Clyde Great film.

Cross your T's and dot your I's because Hell is where you'll go when the dreaded Reaper comes to collect what he requires. (Even soldiers aim at the target before firing unlike here since all of the dirt being disturbed.thats a mistake in filming. But again, I do believe that using easily 300 to 500 bullets in the span of 10 seconds is warranting of Hell.)

This is Hollywood. Far from the real ending. The real ending was much more eerily gruesome.
The undertaker had a he'll of a time with embalming fluid leaking out of all those holes....

Yep, he never got the chance to leave the car, Bonnie also had a half-eaten BLT sandwich and a magazine in her lap, and her right hand was nearly destroyed by bullets.

The car was still in motion when the ambushers started shooting. After about 180 rounds fired, it veered and crashed. So Hollywood departs from circumstantial truth right there. What is certainly accurate is that both were hit many times. Some sources say Bonnie was eating a sandwhich.

@@williegordon7899 The other lens fell out of the frame earlier in this scene. I suspect it probably did happen in real life, although I don't know how the filmmakers could've known it since Bonnie & Clyde themselves weren't alive afterwards to talk about it. But maybe people who saw them just before the ambush noticed it, and I'm sure everyone who had seen them got interviewed over the next few days.

Because they were hiding out at his house when this happened. They were taken there by his son, who you see looking out the window at them through the curtain as they're leaving town. The father was furious that his son had brought them there so he cooperated with the police to ambush them.

Its really too bad, how the ominous and violent ambiance of this revolutionary film is virtually ruined, by the overbearing use of upbeat banjo music throughout, severely undermining and diminishing almost every aspect and sequence of this films sublime dramatic effects.
Director Arthur Penn once again virtually ruined another one of his cinematic masterpieces, Little Big Man, with its intrusive, annoying, clashing with profound ambiance musical score.
