Fun fact; prison in some states (florida) actually do give prisoners crocs. They're hard to run or fight in and can be worn in the shower, cutting down on the spread of fungus. It's a win-win for the prison, but sucks as a convict. Oh, and they're orange, of course.

@@shadowkhiz7455 No, thats not fun. But beating an enemy for 5 consecutive minutes for it to only tickle their health is absurd. Not enjoyable, not immersive, and most importantly, not fun. I’m okay with that in games where it makes sense to have that mechanic however; gotham knights does not mix well with that mechanic. There is a reason this game has very low review scores. You can enjoy the game and everything about it, but that does not mean the games isn’t absolute crap.

Patrolling the Gotham City streets makes you wish for a Victor Fries Winter
It feels like maybe they should have gone the marvel ultimate alliance route and had the other members of the bat family controlled by AI rather than switching between them everytime. It might have been said at some point that the other 3 are out on separate missions and that's why you can only play 1 at a time but I missed that. Like what are they doing though while insert whoever here is out on patrol though. Taking a nap or something

My only real gripe is yet another game with check point saves, why saving whenever I want or or at least during non story line actions is too much to ask is beyond me, the other thing being the discombobulated crafting. Otherwise I’m having a blast!
The main things i struggled with playing on Series x.
-Drastic frame drops.( Noticed the very 1st time they made me drive /sooo many Visual Effects on some missions)
-Camera has robbed me of combos and defense many times.
-Buttons presses not registering.
Taking damage while locked in grab ani.
-Grappling not going where i want too most of the time
-(nitpick)no jump Button to mitigate frustration of being stuck in a spot you cant grapple from.
-Collision with other players screwing me over.
- it crashes
Bruh I forgot to mention the NO JUMP BUTTON is so jarring

@@Kdawg4859 honestly though, you can build a pc that destroys Xbox for $1500. If you did Uber eats or DoorDash or both, you can make that in 1 week working every day. It’s doable in the USA. You may need to drive to the nearest city and work there cuz more people = more orders.
Either than the performance issues that i personally am not experiencing i really dont see many of the problems with the game other people are seeing. Its actually a lot of fun and if you think the game will be fun please jump in the game definitely has an audience and if you enjoy the type of game that it is dont listen to reviewers and just play the game. I was definitely pleasantly surprised because the reviews made it out as complete dogshit. Its not like game of the year or anything, i wouldnt even say its 8/10 id say its a fun 7/10 superhero game that is totally fun if your into that sort of thing
People comparing it to the Arkham games is one of the issues. When a game (i.e. Arkham Knight) is claimed to be a "masterpiece" then how exactly can any other game top it?
What's also funny is that before GK even came out there were people that were vocal about issues that Arkham Knight had (issues very similar to GK no less):
- Jason being the Knight was too obvious.
- Catching Riddler was tedious
- The Batmobile wasn't all that great
- Nightwing DLC was too short
- Nightwing getting nerfed/killed easily by Penguin
... And so on, buuuut right when GK makes its debut, *all of a sudden* Arkham Knight is the Holy Grail with no issues to be spoken of and GK is full to the brim with problems.
Plus, many many people love Batman compared to the numbers of those who love Nightwing and Red Hood etc.
Of course GK doesn't really compare, but that's because its an entirely different universe made by a different group in DC, they're not like Rocksteady.
I don't know how good WB Montreal is a company but it looks like they tried to make a decent game for many players to enjoy and not stray too far from how the characters are. I think they've succeeded in that at least.

I bought Gotham Knights and installed last night. So far this game is awesome!! I play as Red Hood only so far and I’m level 7 and fucking with the Penguin’s businesses so he will respect me enough to speak with me. And it’s been so freakin fun. Already worth my money.
Love how clepto the gaming community is with chests/consumables. I try it in real life....and get arrested 🤷♂️
I'm having an absolute blast playing this game. Especially with a buddy. There's nothing like throwing combos out with a fellow comrade while surrounded by waves of baddies.

just finished it and i must say no game has pissed me off like this one. the story is really, really bad. the fact that they killed off batman (which was an interesting premise) just to revive him and then fucking kill him again is just not right: it ruins every possible buildup or pathos. it's just bad. also there's basically no villains: the court of owls is basically non existent and used just to leave the players with an embarassing cliffhanger, talia is just useless and the secondary foes are quinn, freeze and clayface. Everything in this game seems like an excuse to hide a lack of development and set up sequels and DLCs, which is something that every developer does nowadays but this game really looks and feels like a skeleton. honestly i don't even care about future DLCs, this is pure shit.
It’s a fun game if you’re into the Batman universe. I’m enjoying it so far.

What bothers me and pisses me off most is the frame rate.. WHY make a game specifically for next gen, can’t even get it on Xbox one or ps4, etc. and then make a 30fps cap?!… what sense does that make? It just doesn’t feel smooth. It’s fun but it takes getting used to. Exclusively for next gen but feels like a last gen because the fps cap like wtf. If it was 60fps I’d probably love it or at least like it way more. This shit just ain’t it

The combat is mediocre and doesn’t have juggles. Besides that, it’s not very challenging so I got bored with it pretty quickly.

BTW, there are prisons that give prisoners Crocs , or Croc like variants. I know they do in Virginia prisons.

It just makes you want a new Arkham game as it feels like a cheap imitation of the masterpieces Rockstar made. It's crimimal that Arkham Knight is lightyears ahead of this game despite being released 7 years ago.
I really wasn't a fan of Arkham Knight, it just feels too busy, I wish they went back to the simpler Arkham asylum style

You think Nightwing is bad with leaving those two people to burn? Preform a stealth takedown on a ledge. I watched Red hood pull a freak over the ledge of a 15 story building and shatter their spine on a fan. Jason genuinely committed murder that day.

being honest i’m actually having a lot of fun with this game, my pc runs it fine at 60 frames and playing with my friends is the best. it has its bugs but i don’t think it deserves this much hate

Yea can’t stand Jason’s character design. He doesn’t look like anything from the comics. His fighting animation seems pretty childish too, lacking the skill of a former robin.
That said Tim and Barbara are passable (I guess) but at least they nailed Greyson. Disappointed about no Damian tho.

Batman is my favorite superhero and the Night of Owls and Robin War are some of my favorite Batman comics.
Everything about this game should make me love it, but I just feel emptiness when playing it. All these annoying checklists during combat, annoyingly abundant collectibles, grindy nature of having to get clues, having to do challenges to progress the actual plot. Gotham just being a bland mesh of repeated neon signs, colorless buildings and smoke attempted to be made more interesting by making it look more 'varied' with a colored light. Combat looks good, but feels like folding your laundry.

Tbh the game is badass to me. The upgrades for character shit is confusing and I don’t like it but I’m having fun with combat. I play on hard difficulty and I turned off enemy power level indicators, enemy attack indicators, huds, button overlays, and subtitles and I’m pretty happy with my Immersion in this game. I noticed when people play they just mash dodge and attack constantly When this game asks you to be acrobatic and calculated even outside of stealth. Combos from punches to ranged attacks then grab to a takedown. You might have more fun this way idk
I’m thinking of getting it but I’m kinda on the fence, is there a huge grind like ac odyssey? Cuz if that’s the case then I’m out

However I love Batman everything and I really like the concept of “night missions” how much can you do for the city each night you go out. So it doesn’t feel that Grindy since I enjoy the idea of it idk
Makes me sad because I LOVE batman's kids, Nightwing and Redhood are my personal favorites,, the second I saw the gameplay footage I was so sad to see the gameplay didn't look very good
Only thing I appreciate about this game is the graphics and how they bring attention to batmans kids after years of them being neglected (in games and especially movies)

Me too. Unless its hot garbage and just absolutely bug ridden like saints row reboot and cyberpunk on release date, judging by the gameplay footage, its probably not gonna be as BAD as people make it to be, but its still probably bad, but fun.
I have good memories of Arkham Asylum, it felt so unique and I liked how they emphasised the detective side of Batman, the close quarters nature of the game felt fitting to his character.
These new big open world style of Gotham games just don't hit the spot for me :/

Looking at the graphics, text font, UI, Gotham Knights seems to be more of Arkham Origins 2 instead of Arkham Knight. Not to mention the whole liveservice stuff with loot.
Makes sense tho, since WB Montreal worked on Origins, not on any of the original Arkham games. Honestly, WB should just give Rocksteady the keys to all the DC video game projects. Give them that Superman game they wanted to make, etc.
Or maybe Suicide Squad ends up disappointing as well in which case WB should only give them all the Batman/Bat-Family games.

I’m ngl I’m very much enjoying this game. I’ll admit it’s not an 8 or 9/10 but I think this game is a solid 7-7.5. Definitely worth the price of admission. 18-20 hours in and I’m still enjoying every aspect like hour 1

I feel like there's a lot who'd agree with this. I personally haven't experienced those frame issues everyone else is having. Everyone who has played it, who isnt a youtuber or critic, seem to really like it. I think this is an example of critics making a game seem worse than it is. I guarantee in a few months everyone who hated on it is gonna say it's underrated and good just like what they did with arkham knight and arkham orgins.

Ign have completed failed to give this game a proper review. I spent 15 hours playing this game with a friend so far and it’s honestly a blast. PLEASE DO NOT FORGET THAT THIS REVIEW IS BASED ON THE OPINION OF ONE MAN who does not share that same likes and dislikes as you do, set your expectations for Gotham Knights correctly. It’s going to be updated it’s going to be improved, if cyberpunk managed to turn around a difficult release this game can too.

Why didn't they use the arkham knight combat system. You could switch characters in it so multiplayer could have been possible. WB Montreal used the same fighting system in arkham city for arkham origins why not use the arkham knight fighting system.
It wasn't made by Rocksteady Studios, that explains why it's so different.

Honestly I enjoy it. It’s not better than any of the Arkham games, but it’s alright it has fun aspects about it. I’ll probably spend the next week going through and playing it before returning it. Definitely not worth the $70.00 I spent but if it were $35-$40 now we’re getting to a reasonable price range

i get like 40-50fps on medium, it crashes like 3 times during 4 hours and the visual glitches if you grapple too fast..... if they can fix these issues then im perfectly fine with the game

Its actually often that we have a different take on the fun of gameplay and not.
The truth is that most reviewers have a very casual, common taste but we have very different opinions.
There was plenty of times I enjoyed a game much more than the review bandwagon. And vice versa didnt enjoy a game hyped up by the bandwagon. I highly recommend starting to think and play for yourself and not blindly overtake opinions of others and the “trend”. You will thank yourself
