@@Ralf1NATOR Sadly, there's no room under there for electric cut outs on my truck. The way the exhaust system is, not a possibility. Doesn't take long to uncap it, but it would be nice to be able to open it at will. You know, for "situations" in traffic.
@@bluecollarhotrods9781 lol yeah. I've got the itch so bad i can hardly stand it but my wife has requested i wait till after xmas. I do have the go ahead to upgrade the brakes. Stock stall killing my front brakes. You ever do the 05 to 04 front upgrade?
Sorry a little late to seeing the video, But glad for u finally breaking that 2 sec 60ft now we got to get u to 1.6s then maybe have to come down to florida to do a stepside showdown between me and u.
I have Air Lift helper bags on my truck to keep it from hitting and for when I tow trailers. When/if I ever remove them, it will need the frame notched.
98-02 F Body fans, it's shifting at 6100 RPM. The apply/release times have been revised for the shifts. The converter is so tight, it bogs the engine down.
@@shadowopsairman1583 I'm honestly thinking I should switch to the larger radiator and fans from an 05+. Right now, I run the F Body fans with a harness and relay setup from PCM of NC.
I am working out of my small garage with the vehicle in the wide open doing the best I can but it is coming along I got lq4 799’heads trunnion upgrade long tubes 36 lb injectors currently building the front end only have a mail order tune
@@bluecollarhotrods9781 hey man. My solution might be Thunderbolt Motors here, If I can get certain bits implemented while the engine is out such as the stall converter, driveshaft center bearing I will. I have tons of questions to ask relating to parts on the engines, besides GM who would be a reputable aftermarket when it comes to pistons?
@@bluecollarhotrods9781well I will be asking what brands the builders are using, plus if they can do a core swap I'd like to get a LM7 and put the flat tops in it, I need to research the dual springs layout for the heads to see if the seals/seats need to be cut on the heads. Etc oh Get the 05+ Truck fans and radiator, never had a overheat issue in my 4.8. Oh the engine definitely is friction seized (most likely welded crank...)
@@shadowopsairman1583 heads should not need machining. I had to run different, smaller valve seals. They were included with the BTR kit. This was on my previous LQ4 with 317 heads and the EPS custom grind cam.
Merry Christmas
She sounds so much healthier with the shorter gears!
great video, glad the truck is improving like we had hoped it would! now i want to see what the cam can do for it
Me too! I've been loading parts most of the day to take to the storage unit. I wish I had been swapping the converter instead.
Looking good. Sounds really healthy with the steeper gears
I know it didn't pick up anything, but I like how it sounds going down the track with open cut outs.
@@bluecollarhotrods9781 lol i did too so i grabbed some cut outs off marketplace. Your truck just has that "up to no good" sound i like.💪

Your truck is 1000lbs lighter. You could put a cammed 4.8L in it and probably outrun me. 😄

Are you using aftermarket fans? Seems you have long shift points like a stock truck.
