Zhengzhou City, referred to as "Zheng", was called "in the middle of heaven and earth" in history, was called Shangdu in ancient times, and is called Green City today. It is a prefecture-level city, provincial capital, and megacity under the jurisdiction of Henan Province. Zhengzhou City is located in the north-central part of Henan Province, at the boundary between the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, with a total area of 7,567 square kilometers. Zhengzhou City is a national transportation hub that combines highway, railway, aviation and letter, and has formed a transportation network consisting of three transportation modes: railway, highway and air. As of April 2022, Zhengzhou has 2 terminals, 2 runways, 162 air routes, 6 railway stations, 2 main railway lines, 6 high-speed rail lines, 22 rail transit lines, 11 expressways, 37 BRT lines.
Zhengzhou is an important birthplace of Chinese civilization, a famous national historical and cultural city, one of the six major heritage areas supported by the state, and a member of the World Alliance of Historic Cities. As of the end of 2021, Zhengzhou has 83 national key cultural relics protection units, 97 provincial-level cultural relics protection units, 208 municipal-level cultural relics protection units, and 6 national intangible cultural heritage lists.
In 2022, Zhengzhou's gross domestic product (GDP) will be 1,293.47 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1% at constant prices.

Man, you did me a HUGE favor by posting the best memories of my hometown. Literally, several blocks and routes were where my homes are and my daily commutes used to be. I've just been reminiscing badly recently, and you just presented all of it right in front of my eyes...to be honest I think ZZ has one of the best night drive experiences I've had; I'm driving every day in NYC and still think ZZ has unparalleled street lights (although its tons of taxpayer money ikr). Zhengzhou is my all time favourite city in China. It is also an industrial city which grew rapidly in the last decade as China's east coast areas are becoming expensive to manufacture.

Hi! It might sound like a silly question but can anyone tell me whether it is possible to ride an electric bike in Zhengzhou 郑州。I lived in smaller places in China and in both place a I owned and rode a traditional bicycle but now that I am used to riding an electric bike where I am now (Laos), I'd like to keep riding one but in 郑州. Maybe within 10~15 kilometres radius?
In Zhengzhou, you can ride an electric bicycle by wearing a helmet and obtaining a license plate (electric bicycles do not require a driver's license).
