@@WhereIsMySock03 Same, also, it leaves a lot of questions open, like did she tell police? Did they find the heads? Etc. With Ares, she could have run away or even was killed by Ian before that, did Ian run away from his home before police came? Did they investigate at all? The ending is very open and while a happy ending, it feels not satisfying, since Ian is still out there, probably. As others said, maybe sequel bait.
the author tried to make her look innocent, so they made her say that instead of cursing\swearing. but an innocent person like her probably wouldn't have the strenght to even say that.
I had a roommate that tripped and slid down the stairs on her rear. She wound up breaking her tailbone which required her to take time off of work to let it heal.
I love how much June’s friends worry about her. Many times in games they just tell the protag not to go, but June’s friends not only try to convince her to not go alone at night, they also suggest to meet in public or during daylight and also try to go with her. I also think it’s cute how relieved they look when June decides to cancel her plans
Yeah, June is kind of dumb. Her friends are so right about it that it's weird they aren't more pushy about it. Surprised there isn't stories in the news about people going missing considering the fresh human heads in the boxes. Pretty sure that kind of thing would make people more careful.
I’m starting to feel like many are becoming disillusioned with what it feels like to kill a bad guy in a video game, and actually kill someone’s in real life. Her reaction is realistic, I’m sure any decent person would feel shaken or even fucked up after killing someone, and watching the life leave their eyes, thick irony blood all over you and what your holding.. That’s fucked up, no matter who it was you’d just killed.
Yep, there's a tradition where kids about 11-13 start killing with small animals, like cats and dogs and then work their way up to pigs and eventually the gang gives the recruit a set of humans to kill and after that is the test to see if you can go further which is sending a 'message' or "r* and k*ll". Very scientific method and logical progression.
I think initially I’d be horrified but then I’d be relieved because he would of killed ME. It would be scary for sure but knowing you’re alive and that you saved yourself would overcome that. There’s plenty of cases of victims that have turned on their abuser and they’re just glad they survived at the end of the day and wouldn’t change a thing. When you’re being attacked you don’t think so morally anymore instead you do anything to survive.
I don't think June feels bad for killing Ian specifically, and I don't think the ending is supposed to portray that either? I'm pretty sure she's just dealing with the reality of taking another person's life on her own, and now she has to cope with that reality If anything I'd assume she's happy that someone like Ian is dead, but she's still shocked about taking a person's life regardless Like the ending where she kills Ian is objectively a good ending because now a serial killer is out of the world for good. But I dont really see why it's an issue that June might be a bit??? Mentally frazzled from killing someone? I don't see why that concept is so controversial for people when it's pretty normal I think?
The stairs kill many characters, including but not limited to: Shimotsuki Kuina, Tem Ray, and Yukari Sakuragi(although, technically an umbrella was ultimately the item that killed her)
To be fair, I think June didn't necessarily feel "guilty" about killing Ian, but was in shock at the fact she killed a person just in general which isn't an easy thing to push yourself to do even in a life threatening situation.
I love when games have that option to just avoid all the bad stuff you _know_ will happen, right off the bat. Of course, no one ever stops playing there, but I appreciate it being an option, lol.
i agree, having a choice in these kind of games, specially if multi ending, is important to me. otherwise im just a random person being forced to do some stuff and then i get control only near the end to choose the ending
Just my guess, but I think games like this are the best ones for people who are not amazing at programming. If your strongest skills are in art or storytelling, then this type of game would probably be the easiest to make. And it shows off the stuff you're really good at. So if you're an artist and you want to make a game, your best bet is going to be a visual novel or a simple rpg with limited mechanics like this one. Or maybe the people who like making this kind of game just often like drawing too idk.
Sometimes I wonder how they have the audacity to act like you're the one being difficult when you wont comply with their demands... Besides that, the music's pretty catchy.
Psh! Would YOU not be mad if a guest in YOUR house didn’t comply and just went rummaging through all your rooms and stuff?? That’s ridiculous, how rude!
Thank you so much for playing!! This made me so happy,,, Edit: I’m making this edit since I didn’t make this clear enough in-game (that is now fixed) This game is the first installment of a series! The endings are not the final conclusion to the story :>
I find it interesting the power dynamics of the yandere this time is used by lurring the victim into their own home instead of a public secluded place, and how they don't even know eachother too well as opposed to the trope of "good friend with a secret obsession" kind of thing.
Living in a double story house I can't tell you the exact number of times me and my sisters have each fallen down the stairs but it's enough to know that we all hate it, frankly the worst part is the initial shock before the fall, not pleasant all round obviously but still, granted none of us have died from it yet so :|
Same, when falling it feels like slow motion, especially afterwards. I've had a good few falls, none that were really entirely bad aside from the one where I slammed my backside into it. Hit my back, arm hit rail, butt slammed into the...corner? Of a step. That left an ugly uuuugly bruise and pain for a few weeks.
For me, it happens really quick, I don't register the fall, just the pain. Oh, my cheek suddenly hurts, oh, I hit my head, is that pain as in swelling pain or bleeding pain? Then there's this period of time where I just. Lie on the ground, then realize I should probably go treat my bleeding forehead.
@@sandkitten16 oh for me it was like time just glitches and suddenly I was sitting down instead of walking down the stairs, then again I only fell a couple of steps lol
I fell down the stairs really hard when I was a little kid. I remember going head over heels most of the way, stopping upside-down at the point where the stairs turned, thinking "Oh good, I'm not falling anymore." aaaaand then I kept tumbling down the rest of the way and smacked my head on the basement floor.
Keep in mind there's a chance you could die each time that happens. If you fell a hundred times down stairs throughout your entire life, you'd be likely to die from it.
whenever Manly talked about shoving Ian down the stairs it just reminded me of Omori's plot and how everything got screwed up so quickly because Sunny pushed Mari downstairs, lol
Yea its kind of a new take on youtubers I watch. Im used to IGP and is arguments and screaming with the more refined licensed horror games, but im finding these small indie games with manly's personality kinda interesting
I think the dad was the one calling on the phone every time, Ian said something like "This bastard won't stop calling". I believe Ares was concerned because of the secret that made her keep the front key and the thought of give it to June made her remember the secret and "what if he tells dad...?"
It just a thought but the reason June didn't push him down the stairs as it may not work. He probably catch her before she get the chance. If he back was turned and off guard than yea, plus he might be bigger and stronger than her so he might end up sending her down stairs instead.
Touché. Maybe making a show of swiping at him with the knife could have forced him to back up, causing him to fall on his own. Or she may have been able to surprise him while he was busy monologuing. Sadly we shall never know, lol.
If she still had the spray bottle, she could've chucked it at him and pushed him while he was distracted. But even that might be too violant for someone like her.
well, if she wanted to kill him she would have stabbed his chest, like she did in the other ending, but the whole purpose of stabbing his arm is to weaken him and get enough time to run away.
_Yandere with a moral_ And the moral was - don't be a victim if you can help it. And using common sense probably helps the most. I'm hoping to learn more about Ian and his family in perhaps another game. I still wasn't sure what was up with his sister for instance. This was very nicely done. It's nice to see a competent old-school rpgmaker type game with actual different endings and decent puzzles. Kudos to the developer for getting that formula right without too many key quests, chases, or overly drawn out endings.
I always love this type of rpg maker horror and greatly enjoyed this too, BUT how the heck did our cliche bastard got away with collecting so many heads up til now lol. And also if he is her stalker, why does he think he can get away doing this to June - her precious friends would've probably called the cops on him the same evening :B
I like the idea of an antagonist that gets too complacent and pays for it. I also missed bonus rooms. Praise prosciutto! I'd say this was a Yangire story. This antag planned to go for the throat regardless of what you did. Good luck to the game maker, have fun and do your best!
Bruh her not stabbing him the first time after seeing that box of heads began to make me not feel bad for her death like tf is you doing June, GET HIM! He's right by the stairs to💀
After seeing that box I'd definitely go for a killing blow or at the very least like Manly said PUSH HIM DOWN THE STAIRS! He might not die if he's lucky but he'd definitely get critically injured or maybe just stab his legs instead of his hands lol that'd make it easier to escape a hand injury won't stop a killer from chasing u
Bro June is apparently a good person ofc she would just be confused there and ik that dude just had a box of heads there but bro at least there’s multiple endings
I think Jun's not used to killing, that can really take a toll on someone. Like I'd off him and so with manly but not everyone can cope with blood on their hands. I don't think she felt as bad for him as she did for her mental state. Also Quinn best girl.
I don’t think anyone is used to killing normally And if a serial killer tried to kill me and I kill him in self defense I won’t feel bad for him cause fxck anyone like that
@@aleah5728 You actually don't know. You have not a slightest idea how would you act in an extreme situation. Life's not a game, fighting someone bigger and stronger than you, even if you're armed is extremely tough to pull off when you don't have any experience with self-defence. But one of the hardest things to break through are mental limitations - many of the self-defence courses put a huge importance in the fact that it's impossible to predict how you will act when in deadly danger. So you also train to have certain habits and muscle memory, so that you can act even if your brain cannot. I wonder why so many commenters are so certain they wouldn't involuntarily freeze. It's so damn common to not think straight in moments like these.
probably, since she's an incredibly good and kind person. the trauma that comes from murdering someone would be immense, much more for someone like her. in game, i would not hesitate offing someone i would deem as evil or for self-defense, but having come across similar situations as june irl, i must say that even the thought of offing someone makes my blood run cold and it makes me want to hurl.
thats as obvious, and ive seen many people get on her for feeling bad abt it and its like,, you cant just go unphased while you deadass just murdered someone as bad as they were, they were still human and now YOU are held responsible. also i agree sm hehhee
I love how when playing a horror game, Manly constantly starts with "They may or may not be *insert what they actually are* " Like they're so obviously going to be this or this. Even if it's subtle or you don't notice it's them at first, it always comes out with the same conclusion. Even if they are introduced later in the game. Just a little something I like about Manly's horror game videos :D
This is such an old fashioned style game, I don’t know why, But the ending music, sound effects, classic Yandere portrayal, Old play style, classic tropes All so nice
how does june not know what happened to ares if she literally left with her?? why didn't ian chase them outside the house?? why didn't june call the police like she said she would, and if she did, how does she not know what happened to ian and ares?? you'd think june would know if the news said ian is in jail or fled the country and if ares was adopted into a foster home or taken by cps
I think the idea is that she was too in a daze to really take in what happened after escaping, after the adrenaline high wore off. So, Ares might've told her where she was going, but June didn't take it in.
So why do like half of all yanderes also want to kill their love interest instead of, you know, forcing themselves on them? I kinda get it with Ian, but what's with the others? When June said "no.. more...", I thought Ian was doing exactly that and it got pretty scary for a second.
because thats the whole point, yanderes dont actually feel love for their love interests, its all about being obsessed with their ideal versons of them. Which is why in one of the endings Ian moves on so quickly. he was only inlove with the idea of June, not her.
@@MitsurisDarling sure, I understand that notion. I just don't think those two have to be mutually exclusive. Being attracted to someone doesn't mean you love them. Besides, it's not as simple with Ian. I'd like to know more of his backstory.

That part where Ian stabs June a bunch genuinely made me think he was raping her. I mean he blushed before doing it, she said no more which honestly confirmed it to me and the sound the stabbing makes doesn't sound like stabbing...But when I see her dead it almost jumpscared me
Both of them engage on a espionage war of truly epic proportions as they try to stalk each other at the same time. One ending is both of them getting recruited by spy agencies. One by one agency to follow the other person who they think is a spy, and the other by another agency who wants them to follow the first person who they think is a spy.
Or where the love interest is completely willing and the yandere is not even necessarily abusive to them, but their mental state/morality is shaky enough to make them go pretty damn far for the sake of their love. Cause they're also hopelessly devoted to them (self-worth issues?) Guess that's not yandere enough anymore..
One of the goal in my life is too actually make (or be apart of the creation of) a game, seeing all of those indie game creators doing a good job at making good games makes me happy and give me hope. Like I said I would love to be a game developer, I do not know how I would be able to make a game but I will at the very least try. All my life I never had an actual "goal" , I never knew what job I wanted to do when I would have to work, but after seeing many videos from Manly I realised: "hey making a game is actually more then just making game, its sharing your imagination, sharing you world and trying to make people enjoy the story of your games. I want to share that" and for the first time I actually feel like I have an actual "professional goal". I realise that people may think I'm overdoing that , but hey that's my perspective of it And who knows maybe you'll hear of me again in a few years , maybe you won't, all that matters is that I have a goal and I'll try to reach it when I'll be ready to start learning all of what is needed to be a game creator. On that note sorry for the long text , thank you Manly for indirectly helping me find a goal , thank YOU for reading that long comment and hopefully you'll find a a goal too if it's not already the case, I believe in you.
All those stair comments had me laughing. 😂 I’ve fallen down the stairs twice in my life. Once when I was a small child. Busted my chin open. Still have the scar today. The second time I was sick with a high fever a few years back. I ended up with a lot of bruises, and it took over a year to completely heal. Remember. Falling down the stairs is no joke. 🤣
I really liked this game! The artstyle is very pretty (so are the characters) and I appreciate the endings where you can just leave and stay safe. In stories like this, it's always nice when the protagonist has a choice to use some common sense. And I'm curious about Ian and Ares - what was it with his mother and Ares's secret? It's a bit shame we don't know what happened to them afterwards. I do hope the little sister managed to escape. Overall, this was a very nice playthrough and I'm definitely going to keep an eye on their games.
@@nikoleo2000 Not exactly, but in this context, it's definitely ok to get suspicious. Just like June herself suggested, why couldn't he ask for the notes in the morning? Or went to fetch them himself? It's always better to be careful than regret later and I think it's nice there was an option for that.
@@nefrika6080 he explained that he had to take care of her sister, based on that i would be safe to assume that he had many respondabilites, not to mention that not everyone has the same free time as you do, some people are free on the morning and others on the night, happens to literally everyone, which would be same reason of why he wouldn't go fetch them for himself, because if he asked for her to bring him the notes it would make sense to assume that he couldn't do it for an important reason. Im not saying you shouldn't be careful, theres always a time for that, but its not an excuse for having the same mentality against everyone
@@nikoleo2000 That's a good point but when something feels wrong, it simply feels wrong. Of course it's not fair to jump to conclusions, but listening to your gut feeling is probably a good idea. A classmate you don't talk to asks you to deliver him notes late at night, while living in a distant area, insists you should go inside for a cup of tea and gets annoyed when you want to help him with the preparation. Maybe you would feel fine, but I personally wouldn't.
So a few things: - what was Ares’ secret? How did she end up there in the first place? I wonder if it has to do with Anya’s death - I’m wondering if Anya’s death is truly a suicide or if she was murdered and it was hidden as a suicide for any reason - who is the father in this? - it sounds like Anya was rich, yet Ian and Ares live in a dilapidated home with poor signal. What’s going on here? I’m not sure if even future games will answer minor nitpicks but overall a good game that had me thinking
Ayy another rpgmaker gem. Manly always knows where to find the good stuff. It would be cool to see more from yuums. Love the art. Always loved bonus rooms. Hope more people put out more games like these.
Wait, I have some questions. What was Ian's sister's secret that she needed to feel like she couldn't give June the key. And who was Ian on the phone with? It was apparently important enough for him to stop the chase to answer. He even says, he never stops calling. Was it his dad (or his teacher maybe whose asking why he's no coming to school?)
@@rando3438 Not sure but it's pretty vague. I wonder there were some details that were missed or that the game is setting up for a sequel. I felt like the family pictures June found held a clue of some sort.
Really bizarre that killing the Yandere is considered a bad ending. From the Dinner ending, it’s heavily implied that he constantly invites people over and decapitates them for his collection, and would’ve continued to do so after our character’s death. But when our character kills him themselves, thereby ending his spree and saving others from meeting the same fate, suddenly that’s the wrong thing to do? _We’re_ the ones in the wrong for putting down a serial killer who couldn’t and didn’t want to be reasoned with? I can understand the trauma of killing another human, but this is a psychopath we’re talking about here; this is someone who takes joy in our protagonist’s misery, fetishises her “temper tantrums” as he calls it, and refuses empathise with his victim, preferring to shut them up when they start “whining”. And when he gets his rightful comeuppance for all the lives he’s taken and ruined, that’s the wrong thing to do? And the right thing is to just let him live and possibly flee to continue his serial killing spree elsewhere (the good ending didn’t say whether or not he’d been arrested, just that our protag would “never see him or his sister again”)? I’m sorry for the essay but that ending really rubbed me the wrong way. In my eyes, either ending is a good ending - her escaping or her killing him - but the fact that the killing him ending was presented as a “bad” ending confused and angered me given his psychopathic nature and how he’d been treating the protagonist.
Because of classic yandere writing, where they think if the innocent protagonist kills the yandere, it puts them on their level, or the loss of "innocence" makes it a bad ending. Sorry, but killing someone in self defense is a good end. You're not losing innocence, you're ending evil. On the plus side, June didn't cry, or break down in an excessive way. Shock is a much more common way to react to killing in self-defense, though it usually happens a few minutes after the adrenaline wears off, not immediately
Hello! I really appreciate the feedback. I genuinely did not mean to present it as a “bad” ending objectively. June, as a character, mentally couldn’t handle the fact that she killed another human. That’s all I was trying to show. I should make that more clear!
even if my classmates are one of the most most toxic embarrassing and cringe people I’ve ever met I’ll forever be thankful that one of my classmates isn’t like the one in the game
i didn't quite think about that, but now that you mention it, yeah. although i can see that it can be easily explained: he most likely brought these boxes down there when they were empty, and didn't plan on moving them.

I love how that depressed looking girl's last name is Misfortune. Also Manly did you forget what happened with stairs and one of the characters in Omori???
I wish you’d get a bit more backstory around Ares when you both escape together. Like learning the “secret” and the whole Ian and family deal you know? It’d be nice to becomes friends with her and give her some therapy or something 👍
I love horror RPG maker games. They just have a certain charm to them that can't be replicated anywhere else. It'd be great if they made a big comeback, I miss them 😭
Remember girls AND guys, if you think a situation or person is fine but you feel your RED FLAG alarm go off inside you, -ALWAYS- listen to it. It may be wrong but better than going through with it and it being right.
This is a very good point, and worth repeating. People severely underestimate their own intuition (which should properly be called discernment). Sometimes your mind is aware of something before you can express it linguistically, but that doesn't make it any less reasonable. Unfortunately many tell themselves - or even tell others - "if it can't be put it into words, then it must be false." But it generally turns out to be true.
Great gameplay! I wonder what would happen if you put more than 3 pills in the spray. I assume that Ian might have previously mircodosed those pills just in case they were ever used against him so if you actually wanted to knock him out, you might have to use more than what is recommended. I always love your videos tho!! The small quips here and there are always entertaining! Have a great day, Manly!!! :D

Exactly. The first time you kill is the memory you remember the most
Yep, there's a tradition where kids about 11-13 start killing with small animals, like cats and dogs and then work their way up to pigs and eventually the gang gives the recruit a set of humans to kill and after that is the test to see if you can go further which is sending a 'message' or "r* and k*ll".
Very scientific method and logical progression.
First? what? 😅
@@Archimedes-v2o First???
I don't think June feels bad for killing Ian specifically, and I don't think the ending is supposed to portray that either? I'm pretty sure she's just dealing with the reality of taking another person's life on her own, and now she has to cope with that reality
If anything I'd assume she's happy that someone like Ian is dead, but she's still shocked about taking a person's life regardless
Like the ending where she kills Ian is objectively a good ending because now a serial killer is out of the world for good.
But I dont really see why it's an issue that June might be a bit??? Mentally frazzled from killing someone? I don't see why that concept is so controversial for people when it's pretty normal I think?

i agree, having a choice in these kind of games, specially if multi ending, is important to me. otherwise im just a random person being forced to do some stuff and then i get control only near the end to choose the ending
why do these types of horror rpg have such good artstyles like this is consistent 😭😭
The artists work is amazing and their art style and sketches are hella unique

Lillia a real friend. Always looking out for her friend.

Yea its kind of a new take on youtubers I watch. Im used to IGP and is arguments and screaming with the more refined licensed horror games, but im finding these small indie games with manly's personality kinda interesting
I wonder what happened to the dad. Ares’ reaction has dark implications but he could also be who Ian is talking to on the phone.
I think the dad was the one calling on the phone every time, Ian said something like "This bastard won't stop calling". I believe Ares was concerned because of the secret that made her keep the front key and the thought of give it to June made her remember the secret and "what if he tells dad...?"
I wonder what the secret is though
Since the dev wants to explore these characters more in the future, we could get an answer to what Ares’ secret is in a later instalment.
June yelling at Ian “Die!” when he leaves to go check the noise in the house is infinitely funny to me
It just a thought but the reason June didn't push him down the stairs as it may not work.
I wonder if kicking might work instead? Then again, she could possibly lose her balance and tumble over or Ian could grab her leg and throw her off

I'm so mad she didn't use Down D. Stairs to kill Ian.
well, if she wanted to kill him she would have stabbed his chest, like she did in the other ending, but the whole purpose of stabbing his arm is to weaken him and get enough time to run away.
_Yandere with a moral_
And the moral was - don't be a victim if you can help it.

It's so damn common to not think straight in moments like these.
probably, since she's an incredibly good and kind person. the trauma that comes from murdering someone would be immense, much more for someone like her. in game, i would not hesitate offing someone i would deem as evil or for self-defense, but having come across similar situations as june irl, i must say that even the thought of offing someone makes my blood run cold and it makes me want to hurl.

how does june not know what happened to ares if she literally left with her?? why didn't ian chase them outside the house?? why didn't june call the police like she said she would, and if she did, how does she not know what happened to ian and ares?? you'd think june would know if the news said ian is in jail or fled the country and if ares was adopted into a foster home or taken by cps
I think the idea is that she was too in a daze to really take in what happened after escaping, after the adrenaline high wore off. So, Ares might've told her where she was going, but June didn't take it in.

Cause they're also hopelessly devoted to them (self-worth issues?)

I realise that people may think I'm overdoing that , but hey that's my perspective of it
And who knows maybe you'll hear of me again in a few years , maybe you won't, all that matters is that I have a goal and I'll try to reach it when I'll be ready to start learning all of what is needed to be a game creator.
On that note sorry for the long text , thank you Manly for indirectly helping me find a goal , thank YOU for reading that long comment and hopefully you'll find a a goal too if it's not already the case, I believe in you.

Thinking that your classmate doesnt have psychopath intentions with you is not common sense?
I think the stuff with Ares and Ian is setting up for a sequel/game in the same universe, especially since they both survive in the True Ending.
So a few things:
- what was Ares’ secret? How did she end up there in the first place? I wonder if it has to do with Anya’s death
- I’m wondering if Anya’s death is truly a suicide or if she was murdered and it was hidden as a suicide for any reason
- who is the father in this?
- it sounds like Anya was rich, yet Ian and Ares live in a dilapidated home with poor signal. What’s going on here?

Wait, I have some questions. What was Ian's sister's secret that she needed to feel like she couldn't give June the key. And who was Ian on the phone with? It was apparently important enough for him to stop the chase to answer. He even says, he never stops calling. Was it his dad (or his teacher maybe whose asking why he's no coming to school?)
I'd guess the secret is maybe that she helped or saw him kill other people before? Since she wouldn't want others to know that
@@rando3438 Not sure but it's pretty vague.

Oh i thought he was a love yandere not a killer one before i watch this video. It does make sense to kill him. 😂😅
@@yuumsarte2470 I assumed you only meant it from June’s point of view and not in general, either way it’s fine and great work on the game!

"do you have a knife you cliche bastard" is a great line
Great gameplay! I wonder what would happen if you put more than 3 pills in the spray. I assume that Ian might have previously mircodosed those pills just in case they were ever used against him so if you actually wanted to knock him out, you might have to use more than what is recommended. I always love your videos tho!! The small quips here and there are always entertaining! Have a great day, Manly!!! :D
