That Mammoth is a beast. Minimum 1ton dually to haul it. Better would be an F450 or F550. 10 years ago you could buy one for mid 50s to 70k new. Truck campers cost more per sq ft than any other camper. We have 9.5 footer and love it. There are a few different truck camper manufacturers, Lance 1062 or 1172 are 2 you should definitely look at. Arctic Fox is another brand that builds quality truck campers. Eagle Cap is the last of large multi slide camper manufacturers. Remember when dealing with these large multi slide slide in camper is that they are heavy. Meaning you need to do your homework on what truck you buy. The max GVWR is 14000 on a F350, Ram 3500 or Chevy 3500, and even with a gas engine they will weigh 8,000-8400 for a crew cab empty and full of gas, leaving you with only 5,600-6,000 lbs of pay load. Another thing is truck camper manufacturers are notorious for not disclosing the actual weight of their campers. They usually use the base bare bones weight with no options as their weight. To get really close to an actual wet weight of a camper, add 1500-2000 lbs to the listed wet weight to get a good idea of actual weight fully loaded and ready to camp. Remember, you will have to put clothes, groceries, supplies, water, propane, etc in the camper. I don’t want you to be discouraged about buying a truck camper, I just want you to be realistic, and don’t let a dealer pull the wool over your eyes. My example is the purchase of an Ascent by Chalet S85SRS single slide camper. Listed weight on the camper was 3275 lbs wet weight. The actual wet weight with 50 gallons of fresh water, 2, 30 lb propane tanks, groceries, supplies, clothes, etc equaled 4900 lbs that was verified by a certified scale. Happy shopping. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask.
I can't say much about Thousand Trails. We have never been members. I have heard good things, and I have heard about the many limitations they have. We decided against it, because we wouldn't get our money's worth. I love the tour of the different RVs. I especially, like the truck camper. It has everything we need, except room for the 4 dogs. Y'all are moving on up. Dinner and the meetup turned out great. Y'all are making a name for yourselves. Y'all stay blessed.

Wow, I'm so sorry y'all had to go through that mess. You know, some people have brain farts and forget to place reservations in their computer systems. That's an inconvenience for anyone that needs service. Hopefully, that will not happen again. Normally, when I make a reservation, I have the person repeat the reservation to me, and then wait and call back a day or two to make absolutely sure that the reservation is set because a lot of people deal with short memory issues. peace

Another awesome video!!! Gotta say we love the toy haulers. We had a bumper pull, the a Keystone Fuzion 5th wheel when the kids were younger and brought their friends and now we have a 2021 Grand Design Momentum 29g and absolutely love it. In between Fuzion and Momentum we had a Keystone 5th wheel Cougar. We loved it, but then we bought kayaks and had to put then inside the camper which was a pain so back to the toy hauler we went. You guys are awesome!!!

Our experience with thousand trails has not been good at all! So this year is our last with the membership. We have had good adventures with state parks, private parks and some military camps. Enjoy the journey and looking forward to see what 5th wheel you select.

It's official, "I must 💕 y'all's channel" I don't do RV shows, but I ended up watching this one. I think Ashanti was wrong when she said "floor plans change every year" apparently she's seeing something I'm not. If you seen one floor plan you seen them all. I don't care if it's a Class A B C, Super C, 5th wheel, travel trailer, toy hauler, or truck camper they all look the same too me. Within a year or so I'm planning on purchasing a "Super C". In which I want it built from the frame up. I have my own floor plan which I will implement. In closing (in my voice whisper) Ashanti we all know what a truck camper is. Bye, safe travels.

A lot are still doing old school so of course it may not look the same to some based on what stock of Rigs they have. In my opinion each year gets better for some and quality which is what we are holding out for. I ❤️ your whisper voice. Since we have faithful followers watching thar don't camp I make it simple for them since my friend in Alaska never saw one nor knew they existed. Well wife n I were on our ways to Florida stoped over ocean lakes in South Carolina well weather was so nice we still Extended our stay for another two weeks then heading to Florida need to stop at in-laws for. A 2 week visit then going to river ranch on way to ft myers till end of April then back Pennsylvania wish we could of crossed paths. First time. Commenting n love your channel. One day 😊

Too bad about Thousand Trails. About that the 5th wheel. Please try to find a toy hauler with theater seats that recline a couch is just not comfortable. Also it is a BIG deal to have a big bed that you can walk around on both sides. Btw I have as laughing at me on this video at the beginning Doug and Patricia from Delaware. Btw we love the truck camper but you need a big truck

Our TT membership just came up for renewal. Unless your full time, it doesn’t make financial sense. Also, I wasn’t too impressed with the campgrounds that are in the TT system. No, we didn’t renew ours.

All is well. Yes all the sites are sold out except electric only sites. But if you would like a day pass to come and hang out it will be $25.00. With a day pass you can participate in the activities for that day.

Can u get a refund with thousand trails? Nomadic Fanatic told everyone all these problems when he got a membership with them too..alot of youtubers complain about thousand trails. I go alone, my husband brought me a truck camper, older but I love it, I’m always outside and only sleep in it. He brought it to pull boat too😂😂

Thousand Trails is a joke. Membership is not worth it unless your a full timer. Yes both dinner and meet up was a success.

That's a good idea. We have learned to double check our reservation and to make sure we received a confirmation email as well.

If we were to upgrade our rig, it would be a toy hauler also. But we have to break in our GD 315 first. 😊😊

Well wife n I were on our ways to Florida stoped over ocean lakes in South Carolina well weather was so nice we still Extended our stay for another two weeks then heading to Florida need to stop at in-laws for. A 2 week visit then going to river ranch on way to ft myers till end of April then back Pennsylvania wish we could of crossed paths. First time. Commenting n love your channel. One day 😊

Too bad about Thousand Trails. About that the 5th wheel. Please try to find a toy hauler with theater seats that recline a couch is just not comfortable. Also it is a BIG deal to have a big bed that you can walk around on both sides. Btw I have as laughing at me on this video at the beginning Doug and Patricia from Delaware. Btw we love the truck camper but you need a big truck

Our TT membership just came up for renewal. Unless your full time, it doesn’t make financial sense. Also, I wasn’t too impressed with the campgrounds that are in the TT system. No, we didn’t renew ours.
Yeah we had no luck with TT at all only use when the parks are booked and we have no place to go. The one parks we would like to try out we can never get into . Appreciate your support. Safe travels

Wow, I love Datz! I live in Tampa…I hope you tried the shrimp and grits. I need to check out the Chef B Cookin..😊never heard of him. I tried to come after leaving work early one day as my office park is right up the street, but it was too many cars for me. 😂 I hate how they direct traffic around the fairgrounds. Were you guys in South Tampa? I heard Tampa South..lol. Never knew a campground to be in that area. I wish I had came to the meet up! Next time.

Yes all the sites are sold out except electric only sites. But if you would like a day pass to come and hang out it will be $25.00. With a day pass you can participate in the activities for that day.

Yes we see them alot. They are very good for stealth camping. You can park anywhere and stay over night.

Can u get a refund with thousand trails? Nomadic Fanatic told everyone all these problems when he got a membership with them too..alot of youtubers complain about thousand trails. Wish I could of went too,I had to go to my brother's funeral in Pensacola so I wasn't up to it 🫥 the 1st one that u liked and then tom liked a couple days later
No.. Thousand Trails is a joke we are just going to use the membership until it over.
