I do 4 day water only fasting because I want Ketones to help fuel my Brain. I am trying hard to get my Ketones levels up to 6 mmol for mitochondrial repair and general good health. Seems something is missing in your general education here?
@Steve-hk2yr It's impressive that you're focusing on fasting and ketosis for brain health and mitochondrial repair. Water fasting is a powerful way to boost ketone levels, as it forces your body to burn fat for fuel, leading to the production of ketones, which can provide energy for the brain and support cellular repair. Achieving ketone levels around 6 mmol/L is quite high and often seen in prolonged fasting or strict ketogenic diets. However, it's important to ensure that your approach is safe and sustainable. Here are a few points to consider: 1. **Electrolyte Balance**: During extended fasting, it's crucial to maintain your electrolyte levels (sodium, potassium, magnesium) to avoid imbalances that can lead to dizziness, fatigue, or more serious complications. 2. **Refeeding**: After a 4-day fast, it's essential to reintroduce food gradually and focus on nutrient-dense, low-carb foods to maintain ketosis and support your body's recovery. 3. **Monitoring**: Regularly monitor your ketone levels, blood glucose, and overall well-being to ensure that your body is responding positively to the fasting regimen. 4. **Consultation**: Working with a healthcare provider or a nutrition specialist familiar with ketosis and fasting can help tailor your approach to your specific needs and ensure that you're getting the full benefits without potential risks. Your focus on mitochondrial health and brain function is commendable, and by refining your approach with these considerations, you can maximize the benefits of fasting and ketosis.
@@MedicalCentric thanks so much. I take some electrolytes on my 2nd or 3rd day and the longest I Fast is only 80 Hours. I do not want to lose weight so I do not Fast longer than 80 hours and I think I will begin eating sardines once or twice a day during the Fast since I believe it will not have an effect on my glucose or insulin levels. I will also check my ketone levels to see if they are negatively influenced by the sardines. Thanks for your assistance and the video.
get this man out of here with this horrible video. I came here to get more info on what are ketones and why they are are important and you talk about ketoacidosis. Like what? Two different things. Ketoacidosis comes from stravation not a Keto diet to enter Ketosis and tbh if you are diabetic you should do Keto. Like what are you talking about, this video is called misinformation.
Thank you for your feedback. While our video aims to cover various aspects of ketones, we appreciate your input and will work on clarifying the distinctions more effectively. ❤️
Also adding to above if a diabetic patient is not eating properly and had medicine before the breakfast it is also risky. My father is on chemotherapy and he lost consciousness suddenly and we ended up having him admitted to emergency. We came to know that he had DKA, and blood became acidic, now it is reversed, through fluid replacement and other things done by doctors.
@samt04 I'm really sorry to hear about your father's experience-it sounds like a very difficult situation. Diabetes, especially in combination with chemotherapy, can make things more complicated, and not eating properly or taking medicine without food can certainly increase the risk of issues like Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA). It's great to hear that the doctors were able to stabilize him through fluid replacement and treatment. It's really important to keep close monitoring of both blood sugar levels and overall health, especially during such challenging times. Wishing your father a speedy recovery and sending strength to your family! 💙
Absolutely, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is a serious complication of diabetes characterized by extremely high blood ketone levels and acidity, distinctly different from the controlled and typically safe ketosis seen in non-diabetics pursuing a ketogenic diet.
Certainly, understanding ketones is crucial due to their impact on various bodily functions and metabolic processes. Would you like further details on their significance?
My right kidney hurts and i did an urine test and the only problem is that my ketones were 5 mg/dl when it should have been negative. The only symptom i have is that my kidney hurts even tho i took 2 different types of antibiotics
@blumythefool777 Persistent kidney pain alongside elevated ketones might indicate dehydration, dietary factors, or an underlying issue like a kidney stone or infection that hasn’t fully cleared. Since antibiotics didn’t resolve the pain, it’s crucial to follow up with a doctor for imaging (like an ultrasound or CT scan) to rule out structural problems or other causes. Stay hydrated and seek further evaluation soon!
@YoMcReid I see where you're coming from! 😅 The topic of ketoacidosis can definitely be a bit off-track if you were expecting more about ketosis and ketones. They’re related but different concepts, and I understand the confusion. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Hopefully, we can dive deeper into ketosis in future content. Stay tuned for more! 😊
@federicogeorgel3702 I understand that this topic can bring up strong feelings and different perspectives. The history and involvement of the U.S. in Panama are certainly complex, and there’s a lot of debate around the events. If you have a different view or additional insights, I’d love to hear them! It’s important to have open discussions about such significant historical moments.

@MedicalCentric thank you these words means a lot
Thank you! I'm a Type 2 Diabetic.
Thank you
You're welcome
You're welcome
Starvation can also lead to ketoacidosis
Ummmmmm
Really?
DKA is different than just being in ketosis. It is ketosis but not the same as a non diabetic ketosis.
Absolutely, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is a serious complication of diabetes characterized by extremely high blood ketone levels and acidity, distinctly different from the controlled and typically safe ketosis seen in non-diabetics pursuing a ketogenic diet.
But exogenous ketones are not a diet. It is different from DKA…. diabetics can take ketones exogenously and not be in DKA.
My father had it. It is very important to know

Present 👋
Thanks for coming
You need to change the title of this video. It's about ketoacidosis and will confuse people looking for information in relation to ketone bodies.
I thought this was going to be about ketones and ketosis, but this is about ketoacidosis. Boooooo 👎🏾
