I own this exact 58 which I got from Max Guitars a few months ago... It's a stunning guitar that is super dynamic, articulate and has a lot of clarity. The best Les Paul I have ever owned and played. I'm saving up for a 59 now. Great demo guys ! Musical greetings. Avi
@@Bordeaux0929 Nice man! I've noticed that when compared to my standard 50's lp, it seems slightly smaller in terms of body size too! I never would have guessed.
Marc’s opening solo… jaw dropping.. So beautiful and well played. No extraneous notes, everything considered and in the moment. I loved it. Sasha is a beast as well…. They play so well together. Good one boys!
I prefer the top of 58 myself it looks identical to my 2012 58 Standard Reissue VOS Custom Shop, but would be happy with either 58 or 59 in a heart beat.
I just purchased a 59 Lp Mlab I really love it! I used to have a VOS 58 Lp I wish I kept it. Now makes me wanna get a 58 again after watching this video.
@@robrippen I sent back a '59 in order to get my '58. I def prefer the '58. Mostly because of the neck. I have smaller hands but absolutely love those baseball necks! Plus my '58 weights 8.4 lbs which great for a Les Paul. Both are incredible guitars.
Very nice. Great country licks. Love both guitars. My personal preference is the 58. I like the frets and neck better. I have both but my 58 is a ML heavy aged and it’s wonderful. The aging really makes a difference plus it’s nice and light. 7.9 lbs compared to my CS 59 which is 8.7 lbs.
I just bought a used R8 and it’s the best guitar I have ever played and I don’t have to shake it to make it sound good. I hope he realizes that it’s having no effect on the sound.
Both stunning guitars, i think i prefer the look of the 58, but the necks on 59s feel not to fat. I have a 58 and 59 custom shop, not the Murphy labs, just out of my price range, I tend to like the iced tea finishes.
Good review and nice playing! But yeah, never seen so much tuning and retuning in my life. Also the guy on the left just seems to love to shake his guitar constantly. I understand the effect he is going for but I’ve never seen anyone wrangle a guitar neck like that before, especially on a $8000 guitar!
That look great and sound great the ultimate LP however they are ridiculously some might say outrageously expensive. You would be better off hiring a luthier to make one for you and buying all the raw materials yourself.
Great playing no doubt but what's the deal with so many of the younger guitarists and the way they shake the whole guitar around just to get a tiny amount of vibrato? 😆 I see that so often now. It's all visual with hardly any vibrato effect lol!
Guy on right:"rockstar bling..." guy on left:"that's a new word". BlingBling is 2000ish era word. Guy on left is prob 90s kid, doesn't know it. Good for him, he didn't mis anything anything at all. Haha.

I've got a 58' Gibson Les Paul Burbon Burst (Murphy Labs Ultra-light aged), coming tomorrow. My head is about to explode 😜🤪😝.
how is it man, i got mine coming thursday!
@@garretfox7807 Dude, it's fantastic! Your gonna love it. Congrats and enjoy!!
@@Bordeaux0929you're right ;)
@@garretfox7807 Yeah man, they are beautiful instruments. Mine only weights 8.4 lbs. That's the lightest LP I've ever held or played.

Picked up a 59 Murphy lately, saved to favorites for your intro. My 75 silver face twin is getting caps replaced - love the sound you’re getting.

You guys can play! So inspiring.

Which sound do you prefer? How do they each feel?
This '58 sounds fantastic!
The 58 in this video sounded better than the 59 to my ear. Both sound great!.

Unreal sound
Why is the 59 so much more expensive? Because of the flame top?
Both guys are amazingly good
Great to see people loving their work... well played gentlemen
Nice 'Mick Taylor' tone on the '58.
That was some awesome playing guys!
Really awesome! My 59 comes tomorrow ✌
Tough to beat a nice Les Paul. Thanks for the always-great demos!
I have never played a les paul or a GUITAR above some 240 dollars...Wish i could touch one of these
Just picked up a '58 and it is fantastic
Hows the neck on that? I have a 57 and its a real bat. very full.

58 so warm and woody, my choice.
Great jam🤘🏼

It isn't only him - it seems most players do that these daze, and make funny faces while playing! Bluegrass musicians keep a poker face.
Sasha ivantic he plays so good,he is a good guitar player

Those guitars just need some Slash alnico pros and they would be perfect.
Always found you can get much better price deals on the R8's or earlier.
Dirty lemon is my favorite finish.
'58 for me, I think, for the neck..You think the '59 sounds better?
The guy on the left looks like Kirk Hammett when he was in high school.
I love your playing (both of you). You don't need to explain anything here 😉
Good review and nice playing!

‘58 please!
57's & 58's always seem to have that something extra compared to the 59's

Great guitars! That neck shaking though…too much.
Ohhh Fuck me... what a couple of great guitars... i ordered a 59 after this Video... i hohe they will arrive soon... 😍😍😍
Great playing
What song ?
wooow cool jam guys. Exellent Gibson's guitar.
Truly great 👍
There sure was a lot of tuning going on. 😀 but they do sound glorious.
New strings ;)
Purple Rain. Cool
Sweet jam
It's a battle between Guitar A $$$ and Guitar B $$$ 😆

not really a vintage aged brand new les paul for 5000+

Hello friends
Burst tone in spades
Damn! What are you shaking your hand with the r8? I'm shaking my head!!
Ha, I noticed that too. Seemed a bit excessive. Maybe just a habit.

Duuuude. Backstreet Boys, Nsync, Spice Girls, Britney Spears. Just to name a few...
😂
Dishonest dealer . Buyer beware of this store
Get rid of alnico II pickups and P90s they're boring
