This is so helpful. My friend had her car “looked at” and the entire thing was disassembled! This is giving me a good idea on how to rebuild it completely
Thank you very much good sir! If it weren't for this video, the dealership might have had $435, what they quoted me. $114 for the part and your guidance got the job done!
Thank you so much for putting this up! It saved me nearly $1000 since I had two regulators go out at once 😬 your instructions were perfect - thanks a ton, from one teacher to another 😊
These must go bad pretty often. I replaced driver's side regulator 2 years ago and now the passenger side has gone out. So annoying. That piece of plastic breaks, it's not even the motor.
❤ thanks to this video, I was able to replace the whole window regulator. thanks a whole bunch. can't get my door to lock, though. but the window works like a pro!
Thank you very much! I just found your video tonight, and it is very helpful. I have a 2011 Hyundai Elantra Touring. I wonder if anyone else has had the same degree of problems for these window regulators as I have. I have replaced (actually had the dealer do so under extended warranty) eight (8!!!) of these regulators in 10 years across all four doors. This has been the primary car for both my wife and me at different times, and I don't understand how we could be moving the windows up and down incorrectly.
Thanks for the video now I can fix both the front doors on my Touring For anyone that has a Touring wagon do not buy Detroit axle quick struts they don't last and the sway bar mounts snap off and damage other components
Great videos. Last year about this time I used your passenger side video. Wouldn't you know it: This year I'm going to use your passenger side video. Interesting to me is that the both regulators broke a year apart. Must be a conspiracy or something. The one thing you might help out with is how to properly position the window in the bracket so that when the window moves up and down it does not bind. Again, great videos. Thank you!
@@PowerUpAuto will do! Also, when I changed on the first one, I set the window in the clamps but did not tighten too much so that it would self-align when I operated the window. After I was confident it was properly aligned (horizontally), I tightened the clamps.
Thank you so much for this. I'm thinking about trying this myself but am currently short on time to do it. When you mention drilling a bit in the door to temporarily lock the glass up, is the best place to do it right by the handle? How long of a bit? I'm just looking to temporarily keep window up until I get part and have solid day to figure out repair
Thanks for the video. Very well done. I had a question. One day I was driving and went to put up window and just heard inside like crumbling in the door. Basically I have to manually pull up And down window. The motor still runs when I hit button but window doesn't move. Any ideas in what the issue might be before I get into it? Hope I described well enough. Thnx again in advance
Yes that's graet . You take the door handles and it's a easier way .. my window when straight down to the bottom as I started the car .what a day😢😮 thank you for sharing this vedio with us 😊😊😊
i saw another video and the guy butcherd the job you show you know what you are doing i am a retired tech and know whe you have agood tech working but man your voice sounds young i thought you were a youngster he he he good job man 👍
good video. I'm not sure if my hyundai touring 2010 has the same problem. this morning trying to open the driver side window then I heard something break and the window stopped moving but I still can hear the window motor sound fine working but window no moving.
Are you still selling this part on your site? I only see "07-09 Hyundai Elantra Sedan Power Window Regulator w/o Motor w/Door Panel Front RH". Seems like I need a left front, not a right front for this?
@@ImerMirali Might be the window switch. Do a web search for power window repair and the city you are in to find someone qualified to check this out. OR Drive down to Florida and I'll take a look.
@@PowerUpAuto Thanks for the quick response. So if I understand correctly, once I remove the window motor then I can lower the glass without breaking the regulator?
Describe the problem. What’s the window doing? Making a crunching grinding sound? Which would be the regulator. Or doing nothing with no noise? Which might be the window switch or motor.
@@scottsimons2813 is not reacting at all. The back door windows are both up fully, but when I press the button, they don't work(they don't go down). I have a controller in front, driver's door as well, they don't react to that front controller too.

Would not have attempted this without finding this video. Thank you for the detailed instruction!
Glad it was helpful!

This video was a life saver. Thank you!
Quick question: if the clips break while removing the door panel, do you know what size/type is needed to replace them? Thanks!
Thanks much for the video. I can't do the work myself but now I know what a technician has to do to fix the regulator.

lightly spray a bit of WD40 in the 2 vertical channels the glass travels in

I am wondering if you have a parts list. Not the regulator itself but what miscellaneous parts you used. Like what specific self tapping screws used?
Just have to replace a left front door latch with actuator on a 2007 Hyundai Elantra 4 dr sedan and was wondering what the process is.

Very helpful video, I'm doing this project to my daughter's car
Great video.. just replaced both front regulator using this video.👍🏻👏🏼💪🏼
I did that without removing the lock.I disconnected the wires from the inside door opener and slide the wires throug the window regulator

If the window is up and you can't turn on the car. Can you lower the power window with the orange tool alone?
no, that would break the regulator. You could remove the door panel, remove the window motor, and then you could lower the glass
