I have been using this resin exclusively since I found it and it's fantastic. I have made all sorts of thing with it - multicoloured things and just plain with shimmer in it and it's gorgeous. You can even drop your creations (accidentally of course) and I haven't managed to break anything. The other great thing about this resin is, you can make loads of things in a day without having to wait 12-24hrs between layers.
Hey Mr. Steve, I've been watching all your videos since I started getting into resin and other crafting. I found that mold set at my local "return" store on 50¢ day! I have about 100 molds and I've never paid more than 50¢ for one. 😎 Anyways I love your channel and you are wonderful. Thanks for all your hard work.
Hi Steve. I recently discovered your channel. I love watching them. Anyway, I have made phone stands using Teexpert fast curing epoxy resin and my stands are very sturdy. So just a suggestion for those who want a epoxy resin that works for this project. Thanks for all the info you impart.
Hi Steve! I am so glad you did this video! I have that mold and was going to make a bunch of these stands for gifts and to sell at a craft show. I had no idea that they would bend like that. I need to get that P U resin. I so enjoy all your videos, I have learned so much from you. Thank you for the time and work you put into your channel. I will continue to watch every video you make. Thanks Steve!
THANK YOU STEVE!!! You are my hero! I have tried so many times with different resins and all of them bowed. I didn't try polyurethane resin because of the smell. I'll just have to get some then go outside and cast this mold again. I can't wait to tell my daughter how you worked this out. She has been waiting patiently for her phone stand. The colors you chose look beautiful to me. I like the double side effect too.
Awesome! I bought a mold to make a resin earring holder, and it is quite big. So definitely I will be putting on my mask, opening the windows, turn on a fan and have a go at the polyester resin,. Thanks.
Thank you Steve, I've got one of these moulds but put off using it because of people saying they bend etc. will definitely look into the Polyurethane Resin.
NICE!!! LOVE THOSE COLORS TOGETHER💖. Now I might get the mold for this.... Been putting it off because I've got a couple of others that I made to have stands. Thanks again🎶🎶📽📽💖💋
Nice one. I'm so glad you didn't use what I thought you did from looking at the little picture, it looked like orange peel lol think I need as glasses!! Hugs x Ann x
I have this mold and bending can be a problem with epoxy resin. By chance, I left it in the mold for 3 days, and had no problem with bending. I tried it a second time and after 24hours, it still would bend. I would try Steve's way, or plan to leave it in longer and you should be fine. It's a great mold because you can leave your charger hooked up and it still fits the stand!!!
FANTASTIC! Questions though; does the PU resin work with alcohol inks - either total blend or for surface blend? Also, how is the PU resin's heat resistance for coasters as far as coffee/tea is concerned?
Hi Steve! I clicked on the US link for resin and people's reviews say you can't mix the mica powder but you did on this video. The link that you suggested for the resin is it the same brand you used on this video? Thank you so much for your videos 😊 - Rose
That's exactly what I was wondering as well. I have a large multi level tray mold for oceanscapes and I wonder if the PU would work for the base and then epoxy resin for the water effects.
Hi Steve, love your videos! Can I ask a question… can PU resin be used as a base level, then use epoxy resin on top after its dried? ie can a necklace be made with a coloured back using PU resin, then use a clear epoxy for the top layer with flowers in? Will it adhere to PU resin? TIA x
It should. 🙂 Steve made a video using the two together, with the PU as a poured frame outline and insert outline, then poured epoxy in the spaces once that had cured. Was a very thin free-hand pour.
I've seen reviews of poly saying it has a really overpowering smell. Did you have that experience? I've made a few of these stands and initially they took longer to cure, but they hardened ok. I use a single pour one every day.
The colors didn't sink or mix as I expected them to. If you were to put all three colors in one cup after they were mixed, do you think it would turn out like the acrylic pouring videos? Maybe get a more even mix of all three colors one each side?
I have this mould and used it about 6 or 7 times but now it won’t lay flat, the bottom almost seems stretched. Is there anything I can do to get it flat again? I’m so careful with storing my moulds I just don’t get why it’s gone like it
An easy fast method is by putting water in the mould, then pouring that into a measuring cup to gauge how much resin you'll need :) but clean the mould out fully as resin and water dont mux!
Can anyone tell me can you add another colour to this fast cast like you can with epoxy. Iv got moulds where I like to add a colour let it set then add another colour. With epoxy resin you an do this but as this cures . Would be grateful for absolutely any help , thanks in advance.
That resin is very stinky, and people should use a respirator, for certain. Never thought about coloring it. Great idea. I imagine if folks use a hard cure resin, and gave it a good long time to cure, it'd be better. I love the colors you used. Autumn -like!
Thanks Steve what’s the smell like. Iv watched all these resin now I’m confused epoxy resin, polyurethane and the other one in another video you mentioned polyester resin. For someone like me who has only been playing with these things for a month what is better for what. I’m using epoxy which is flexible before it’s cured is this polyurethane needing to be sanded also or does it cure better. I want to make my own gifts for family this Christmas so now I’m confused. Epoxy is nice but only using a couple of moulds takes forever to cure, what’s your opinion on this, thanks
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts thank you for your reply. I was getting my self confused which isn’t difficult. I was watching you use polyurethane then I go confused with the resins you did a chat on. I got polyurethane mixed up with polyester resin. They sound very similar, your colour blind and I’m dyslexic words and numbers sometimes so like you have colour issues I find understanding the resin hard especially when Iv just purchased 100 - 40 resin someone told me to do 50 - 20 so when I go n check in a minute I hope it’s cured. Again I loved this video as I wasn’t to make homemade gifts for family this Christmas, sorry said that word in June but epoxy takes so long I would need 4 of the same moulds if I wanted the same gifts. I’m sending you coffee money as a big thank you once again Steve.
I find it's great for pendants etc. If you use the black pu, add black mica to part a before mixing, that way you get a rich black. The results are lovely when you dust the moulds with intense chameleon powders.

Thank you so much for this tip. I have this mold and was really discouraged by the bending. Can’t wait to order the new product to use with it!
I bought two sets the other day can’t wait to try it out

Thank you so much for your help! I made a phone stand and it was bending so bad I almost cried bc I worked really hard on the coloring!!😢
THANK YOU so much!! I could not figure out why my stands were bending!!
Cool beans! Thanks! And I love the color combo on this one!

Thx so much for this video, I wanted to try the phone stand for a friend. Now I will wait a bit for the PU resin to arrive. You saved me here :)
Great info!

Thank you
I like PU Resin it works really well
Wow. I never even heard of PU resin before. Thank you so much.
Very usefull video ! Thanks a lot ! 😊💙
nice job
Cool thanks
Can you do deeper molds with this? Thanks for the info. Great job as always!

I have this stand but been to wary to make a stand for this reason alone!

Thanks I have had issues with it bending a bit unless I let it lay flat for weeks going to have to try with the PU resin :D
Is a hest gun considered a torch? Thank you for making this I've been thinking of getting one of these molds!
Is there a clear cure resin you would recommend for a bathroom shelf i have a mold for?
Can you use translucent colouring for polyurethane resin? As it’s not clear will the colour take to it?
Hello...which polyurethane product do you recommend?

Can you cure this resin and then pour the other resin on top, or vice versa??? Brilliantly informative as always.
That's exactly what I was wondering as well. I have a large multi level tray mold for oceanscapes and I wonder if the PU would work for the base and then epoxy resin for the water effects.
I watched Claires Crafty Corner, and she used the pu as a base and when it was cured she put uv resin over the top without any problems
TIA x

Can you use paint and glitter?
Can embed put a PU resin molded piece into epoxy resin. Does the PU have the one fully cured. Thanks in advance!
I made some more diamonds and ice and them down but they were little messed up what is the best polish to get the best shine
I've seen reviews of poly saying it has a really overpowering smell. Did you have that experience?
I've made a few of these stands and initially they took longer to cure, but they hardened ok. I use a single pour one every day.
Hello! I’m unable to find the polyurethane resin. Would you know of another link I can purchase in the US?
Does the P.U. resin get warm or hot as it cures?
The colors didn't sink or mix as I expected them to. If you were to put all three colors in one cup after they were mixed, do you think it would turn out like the acrylic pouring videos? Maybe get a more even mix of all three colors one each side?
I noticed you had some bubble holes in this, can you use a lighter or torch on this to get rid of them? Warmest wishes Steve.
What is the name of the polyurethane resin that you use I can’t find any
can i mix resin in a paper cup?
How many oz it takes for the whole mold?
Hi Steve :) I just tried the link for the resin but it wouldn't work, just wondering is this still available? I'd love to get some to try
Also I'm from the UK
I have this mould and used it about 6 or 7 times but now it won’t lay flat, the bottom almost seems stretched. Is there anything I can do to get it flat again? I’m so careful with storing my moulds I just don’t get why it’s gone like it
I'm new to this. How do you calculate how much resin to make for this or a small dish?
An easy fast method is by putting water in the mould, then pouring that into a measuring cup to gauge how much resin you'll need :) but clean the mould out fully as resin and water dont mux!
How do I become a member?
I need a new phone stand, where did you get the molds
AMAZON has about a million of them.
Can anyone tell me can you add another colour to this fast cast like you can with epoxy. Iv got moulds where I like to add a colour let it set then add another colour. With epoxy resin you an do this but as this cures . Would be grateful for absolutely any help , thanks in advance.

I need to get this mold, and that PU resin, too, apparently!
The JDiction you linked doesn't have a PU resin
I tried twice on this mold, and yet it doesn't stand, how much gram should I make, I tried 70g
But, generally speaking, polyurethane resin is more flexible than epoxy resin. Wouldn't that mean it should bend more easily?
what is the resin called?
Where can you get the pu resin. Ive looked on resincolour and cant find it
It's called 'fast cure' and it's amazing, it's even low odour!
How strange!! I haven't had any problems with mine bending.
Iv read that if you dropped epoxy resin it doesn’t break if you dropped this would this break’/
Thanks Steve what’s the smell like. Iv watched all these resin now I’m confused epoxy resin, polyurethane and the other one in another video you mentioned polyester resin. I currently use uv resin for jewelry. Can I use this kind of resin for jewelry.

Polyester resin. Hahaha.
