I'm 99% sure the minesweeper was being built at Astoria Marine Construction Co in Astoria OR, not Portland. They built two for the US Navy and three for the Royal Netherlands Navy.
As a little child (Army brat) in the 50's, I positively loved Saturday early afternoon TV watching the one -- and sometimes two channels we could receive at the time. I absolutely loved watching "The Big Picture" and "Industry on Parade." But I positively loathed Saturday morning children's TV, my absolute least favorites being the likes of "Heckle & Jeckle," "Mighty Mouse," the "Buster Brown Show" and the "Andy Devine Show" with that horrid "Froggy." I guess I was weird as a child and haven't improved much since.
I love old stuff like this thanks for uploading it.
