Sad note to the Texas Towers: Tower 4 off Long Beach NJ, twenty-eight airmen and civilian contractors lost their lives during a winter storm January 15, 1961, the rig was damaged and collapsed. Only two bodies recovered. . . . . RIP
I have watched an awful lot of these during my time in covid19 isolation, and, for the most part, have enjoyed them, learning things I didn’t know and getting a good look back to America’s recent history, thanks. The offshore radar station is or the same as one that was destroyed in an accident around the time of this newsreel/promo film, if I am not mistaken. 😀👍🇬🇧🏴
Came for the offshore radar station, stayed for the bookbinding. That last part had to be the most interesting segment of this installment. I did not expect that.
Making a cone from steel requires years of experience. Or math. I mean u can construct a cone w math and apply it to the sheet steel bend on the lines u got a cone.

I agree with you 100%! I'm 70 and there are things that I had no previous knowledge of. Thank you so very much PeriscopeFilm!
