sometimes its like the veronicas are single handedly reviving/keeping alive this kind of pop/fun/dance music. and the way they sync up/harmonize when they sing "cruel" just wow.. also amazing is how this sounds like a modern song..yet also calls back to their 2005 era sound/hits ten years previously..but yet has a 80s vibe to this song and video a bit as well..any one of those would be amazing tie-ins but all of them at once like in this track is even more amazing. i grew up listening to 8 track tapes and cassette tapes and 45 and 78 rpm records a bit occasionally too..walkmans were a new fad/thing..cassette decks in cars were an insanely expensive upgrade/option, somehow this song reminds me of that era yet still seems modern. :)
The image of the Veronicas is like those girls who always show up to parties wearing the most scandalous outfit they can find, and walk around with a really tough/emotionless look on their face the whole night, avoiding conversation with everyone except with themselves, until finally they're invited to come play beer pong and they turn out to be super hilarious and weird (in a good way) people.
